[Update] New Features and System Optimizations to Enhance Village Experience

The Pawn interface also now includes an auto-selling feature, with the number of auto-sell slots expanding as more market buildings are built.Well: A new convenience facility – the Well – has been introduced, directly increasing the village's livability and attracting more villagers.Lumberyard, Quarry, Farm, Fish Hut: These four resource collection transfer buildings will automatically assign villagers to gather the corresponding resources.Theater: A new convenience facility – the Theater – where villagers will go during their leisure time to watch performances, further enhancing the livability of the village.Warehouse: A new building – the Warehouse – expands the village's storage capacity, helping players better manage resources.Resource Collection Official Position: A new official position system allows players to assign villagers to the resource collection official position, increasing resource production in specific areas of the village.Villager Joining Mechanism: A new system for allowing more villagers to join the village.Village Management Page: A new feature has been added to the village management page, providing estimates for the number and types of enemies, helping players plan their strategy better.Village Tax Adjustment: A tax rate adjustment feature has been added to the village management page. 【Update Notes】We've adjusted many gameplay elements!

Thank you all for your amazing feedback during the Steam Next Fest! After going through everyone's comments, we found that most of the problems stem from one central issue: “the game isn’t idle enough.” So we went back to the drawing board, redesigned, and polished a lot of core systems to ensure you can enjoy a more relaxing, fishy experience. Here’s what’s new in this update:Fixes & Adjustments: Village Construction ModuleMany players said the village-building experience demanded too much attention — needing to wait for the right cards while also fearing villagers might deplete planned tiles, invalidating layout bonuses. So we've made the following changes:Construction has been removed from the deck and moved to a dedicated building UI.Basic buildings and environments now use unified shapes, no longer consuming special card art (rare/special buildings will retain unique visuals).Villager gathering no longer affects your planned layout bonuses.Demolition is now a standalone, free function.Fixed an issue where some build data wasn’t correctly recorded.Villager Interaction & Planning ManagementWe also heard a lot about how the villager system was too hands-on or lacking key functions. Here are the changes:Removed RTS-style interactions. Players can no longer directly control villager movement.Added a new villager management UI to view stats and directly assign professions or output preferences for each villager.Villagers now gain experience through gathering and production.Villagers level up and improve their attributes over time.Resource gathering is now based on periodic global stats, instead of individual villager trips.Adventure Loop AdjustmentsOur dice-based movement and event system required constant attention to make the most of rewards. So we simplified the mechanic:Removed dice rolls — movement is now player-controlled start/stop travel, and all tile effects are triggered on pass-through.Tile events now trigger with a probability per loop, rather than based ...

    【Dev Update】Next Fest Recap & What’s Coming Next

Dear Village Leaders,Thank you so much for playing the Idle Frontier Demo during Steam Next Fest! We received an overwhelming amount of feedback, encouragement, and (sometimes very surprising but super helpful) suggestions from all of you. It was our first time sharing this world, and we're truly grateful that so many of you were willing to step into this still-developing spiritual land. Here are the most common questions we received — and our official replies:1. Why is there no language support besides Simplified Chinese? Before releasing the Demo, we reviewed our own localization and realized… there were way too many mistranslations, missing lines, and awkward expressions that would have completely ruined the first impression for non-Chinese players. So to ensure a decent first experience, we temporarily disabled other languages.Once the game’s full script stabilizes, we’ll be redoing the translation thoroughly and will release proper multilingual support. We sincerely hope to provide a comfortable experience for players of all languages in the near future.2. “Idle” game? Not idle enough! We hear you. From day one, our design goal was to let players choose how to engage — go deep when focused, go idle when distracted. But clearly, we haven’t hit the sweet spot yet.The good news? Thanks to your feedback, we’ve now locked in a clearer direction, one that balances automation and interactivity better — and this direction has been affirmed by many core players.3. What about bugs and stability issues? We know — there were some weird bugs at launch. Due to our tiny team, we weren’t able to do a full QA pass pre-release. In fact, the Next Fest served as our first large-scale open test. Thanks to your detailed reports and patience, we managed to squash nearly all major bugs by Day 2. We’re confident that the Demo is now stable enough for continued play. And that’s why — yes — the Demo will remain available even after Next Fest, until we’re ready to transition into full release.4....

[Version Update] Routine Fixes and Additions for the Demo Version

Here are today’s update notes:Fixes:Fixed an issue where the character info panel didn’t refresh correctly after switching weapons or adjusting attributes.Fixed a bug where characters would freeze when trying to use ranged weapons without enough ammo.Fixed a very embarrassing bug where the ingredient for fried rice... was fried rice. (Our sincerest apologies!) 🍳🍚Balance Adjustments:Villagers will now look for the nearest same-type resource after finishing their current gathering job, rather than wandering off randomly. After gathering, villagers will now return resources to the nearest house, instead of strictly their own.Players now gain gathering experience based on the type of resource their villagers collect. The construction cost algorithm has been adjusted: instead of using “total historical builds,” it now considers the current number of similar resource buildings in the scene.New Feature:Added an “Uninstall Spell” button in the character info UI to remove active spell techniques. These are the patch notes for June 15 — thank you all for your patience and feedback! If you’re enjoying our demo, please consider adding it to your wishlist!
