About this game

Fishing Mega-Game is a fishing creature collector that's all about fighting fish to catch fish! You play as an angler who uses the fish they catch as bait for the next big one. Collect dozens of vibrant fish and unlock unique ability combinations to challenge the hordes of fish wishing to take the bait themselves.

Fishing and Surviving

While fishing, send your bait into a fishing hole full of hungry fish looking to weaken you until you are fully consumed. Combat this with an arsenal resembling an aquatic "bullet heaven" type of game. Level up, or find rare upgrades to power through the hordes of small fry before you arrive at the main catch. Deal enough damage to it and add it to your collection!

This game takes inspiration from Vampire Survivors and Ridiculous Fishing.

Explore a World Full of Fishing Spots

In order to find new fish, you'll need to explore new zones full of fishing spots, NPCs and upgrade shops. Discover new levels, unlock permanent upgrades and receive helpful hints from characters in the area.

Custom Difficulty

Each fish has an alternate "shiny" version. After catching all fish in a level, you will unlock the ability to enchant the waters, giving you increased odds of finding a shiny fish. By increasing the difficulty of the level, the fishing fairy will increase the percent chance that you encounter a shiny fish!

Over 60 Fish to Catch!

There will be over 60 unique fish for you to challenge and collect. Each fish has a unique combination of starting attack and abilities. Catch tons of fish and find the ones that suit your playstyle the best.

    Content Update!

The first free update for Fishing Mega-Game is now live! It contains a number of QoL updates and some gameplay adjustments. Most of these changes are from player feedback via discord, steam discussion, and even e-mail. I take your feedback very seriously, so please feel free to share your thoughts!Let's break down the updateUnderwater UIThe catch meter has been replaced with the name of the fish you're catching. Also the current shine % is now displayed in the bottom right corner. This will be useful because now there is an opportunity to increase your shine % during a run.Exhausting Level upsA number of players have called out that when they exhaust all of the upgrades available, leveling up became tedious since it provided no benefit. From now on if you're at maximum capacity for upgrades, these three options will be available upon level up. Use these to farm, guarantee a shiny, or just keep yourself alive!Underwater CheckmarksAt the left, right, and bottom edges you can see that there is now a green checkmark that displays on the silhouettes of fish you've already caught. This was highly requested since players would sometimes forget which fish they already had.Steam IssuesA few players have had issues with their game connecting to Steam and popping achievements. I have made changes to the way that Fishing Mega-Game connects to Steam. In addition to this, I have added a function that will check for any missed achievements when you first boot into the game's overworld after launching the game. Please note that some challenge achievements are not checked this way.I hope this addresses the Steam issue, but if you run into it PLEASE send an e-mail to peep.gamedev@gmail.comCompatibility ModeWhen launching Fishing Mega-Game on a Windows computer, you can now choose to launch it in "Compatibility Mode." This is mostly for those who can't launch it in it's default state.Other Adjustments and Bug FixesCorrected an issue where two bosses could spawn at the same time.Adjust...

    Upcoming Update!

Fishing Mega-Game has been out for 1 week as of today and the reception and support has been wonderful, thank you everyone! From reviews, community posts, and discord there have been a few points of the game that people would like to see improvements on. I am planning on a few updates to address these! From QoL updates, to brand new features, here are some of the items you can expect within the next few weeks.UI UpdatesHere's a brief sneak peak at some of that. As you can see, "Catch Meter" is being replaced with the name of the fish, making it clear who you're about to catch. Also at the bottom right the current shiny chance will be displayed! Beyond this I am looking into the best way to make it clear to the player which fish they have and have not caught while underwater, having up to 3 silhouettes can be confusing.Level-Up EndgameA few players have noted that upon leveling up too far, they were being presented with no options for level ups. I've decided to make that experience a bit more interesting by letting the player gain more money, increase shiny odds, or just heal if they really need it. I expect this to change how players tackle shiny hunting and money farming. These values are subject to change! The above features can be expected sooner than later as the first post-release update to Fishing Mega-Game! I still have more ideas for later enhancements to the game, and I will always consider player feedback!

    1/21 Hotfix!

Hello and thanks for playing!I am happy with the smooth release for Fishing Mega-Game, I have begun looking for minor bugs and adjustments to increase the player experience! One major bug has come to my attention, so I have quickly cleared it. In the process I also released two smaller discrepancies that were safe for release.Bug Fix: Gauntlet SpawnerIn the gauntlet levels a bug was discovered where enemy fish would stop spawning under certain conditions. Because gauntlet levels require a certain number of defeated enemies, this would force the player to restart. This is now resolved and the gauntlets will spawn enemies until you, your bait, or your PC can't handle it anymore (The PC comment is mostly a joke ːsilentslimeː).Minor Fix: Salmon RunThe level display for Salmon Run was displaying a confusing order of fish, this was causing player confusion when the spawn points in the level itself, did not match. I have now corrected it to the below. This is minor, but I feel it's important to the player experience. I will take some time to identify whether or not this issue is apparent in other levels.Minor Fix: Enchantment AchievementI have fixed the achievements for catching a fish with active enchantment modifiers to properly account for the active enchantments.

    Minor Patch 1.5

I have just released a pre-release patch to the demo to include some adjustments made to the overall experience of the game.Loss ScreenPreviously, sand dollars were only earned upon catching a fish successfully. With this update I have decided that sand dollars can be earned even when a fish is not caught. Good luck with the money!Meta UpgradesI have changed the demo meta upgrades to contain the first level of all 6 meta upgrades that will be in the full release. The full release will allow these to continue to level up to 5!Treasure FixA bug was identified where the "Skip" button was active before any treasure was displayed, this was causing users to accidentally skip treasure by accidentally clicking too fast. I have made the adjustments to this screen so that the skip button is not initialized until upgrades are shown, and that the first upgrade will be auto-focused!MusicThe two main fishing themes have been extended! The composer did a great job making a longer and more satisfying loop. I personally can't get enough of the music for "Fresh Start."Thank you! Please enjoy the full release January 21st!
