SurvivalWorld Update 0.6.0 cooming soon...
Hi everyone! Robert here.I'm here to share an update on the development of SurvivalWorld. I know I've been absent lately, but that doesn't mean I haven't been working on it.But getting to the point, I want to share some screenshots of how it's goingIn this new version, I'm looking for a cleaner visual design, with minimal interface cluttering the screen, just the essentials. The primitive tools, at least, look different from the originals, with the aim of making them somewhat more realistic, although that is never the objective. The bow now has better animation and design, and it's much easier to program and design, so there will probably be more bow variations in the future. The animals have also obviously been remade, with improved AI, which isn't perfect, but it's definitely better than before. The nights are no longer so dark; personally, I really like the new lighting and visuals. Now it seems like the night is truly night, although I warn you, be careful at night, because while enemy creatures appear during the day, at night, that's all there is.Skeletons now come in more variations. We have the classic skeleton, which, instead of a sword, now wields a wooden club, which we'll get when we kill it. Accompanied by the unarmed skeleton, which attacks with punches, and the archer skeleton, this one is somewhat heavier since it attacks from a distance and tends to flee when we approach—undoubtedly a dangerous trio. Our beautiful spiders, in addition to a redesign, also have their variants. The normal spider, which will attack us with bites, can shoot webs that will paralyze us, or rather slow us down, giving it an opening to attack.Baby spiders, which will be found mainly in caves, in areas with many eggs, will cause the surrounding eggs to break if you break one, so be prepared to flee. The venomous spider, the most lethal, will inject venom when it attacks you. This venom will either constantly reduce your health or paralyze you, preventing you from moving. So, procee...Read full article on Community Announcements (Robert Rodriguez)AnnouncementsOfficial
SurvivalWorld: Next chapter
Hello everyone! Robert here to give you an update on SurvivalWorld and the current state of the game.First off, an explanation of why SurvivalWorld has stalled at update 0.5.0. The reason is essentially the same as why updates were delayed: university had taken up a large part of my time, along with various personal matters that meant I couldn’t devote the necessary time to SurvivalWorld. For this reason, I put updates and development in general on hold. The future.Up to this point, it might seem as though SurvivalWorld would end here, but the reality is that once I’d sorted out my previous issues, I decided to resume development. However, I faced a new challenge: following some problems with my computer, I lost all the original game files. Essentially, SurvivalWorld ceased to exist, so faced with this situation, I decided to take on the challenge of reprogramming the entire game from scratch – both the designs and the code. On the one hand, this is a bit of a pain, as everything I’d done was lost, but, as the title suggests, it opens a new chapter in the history of SurvivalWorld.I’ll do my absolute best to launch the new version this month. It’ll still be SurvivalWorld, but with the slight twist of being ‘SurvivalWorld reimagined’ – because, although it’ll ultimately be the same game, it’ll be rebuilt from scratch. This will allow for new optimisations, which will make performance much better than before I’ll also be incorporating new mechanics that weren’t there before; as I’ll be having to create each one from scratch, I’ll be making a few changes and implementing some nice new features that I’m sure you’ll like. Here are some screenshots I’ve taken. I’ve been programming for a week now, and I can already say I’ve completed about 50 per cent of the game. I’ve basically been working non-stop these past few days to release it as soon as possible, with the best quality and as few bugs as possible. Obviously, I won’t be releasing a product with features that were there...Read full article on Community Announcements (Robert Rodriguez)Patch NotesOfficial
A look for the next update:
Hello! This is a small panel where I'll show something I'm working on.World Expansion First Look: ( It will probably change )It's not a pretty sight, but it's more to show off what's new. It's a somewhat large world expansion, adding a new mountainous section alongside the snowy areas, with a valley in between. On the other hand, there will be a new biome, the Savanna. The plan is to add a new vegetation type, trees, and so on. With new creatures, surely, elephants, giraffes, zebras, possibly giant lions. And so on.The Desert, the Swamp, and so on will also be expanded.I may recode the storage system, like chests, for greater optimization. And well, that's all for now. As I progress, I'll share more progress with you.Read full article on Community Announcements (Robert de León)Patch NotesOfficial
New Update: 0.5.0
Hello everyone! Update 0.5.0 is here! I apologize in advance for the two-month delay, which was due to my computer crashing in the middle of this past month. This update is also extremely large. But enough apologies, let's get to the important stuff.Changes and new features:Dungeons have been added, including mines, underground dungeons, destroyed castles, pyramids, villages, and more.A huge castle has been added to the snowy hills. In each dungeon, you'll find various new blocks, mold, cobwebs, barrels, and crates that will drop items when broken. There are also chests, some of which require special keys to open.I also added notes, written in books that recount a bit of the past history, with more than 16 notes. In another aspect, I rewrote the building code to improve performance. Although the building system is the same, technically speaking, it isn't.On the other hand, I added another way to learn recipes. In dungeons, you'll find recipes for various blocks, armor, and tools, which you'll have to find to research and craft them.On the other hand, I also modified the learning system, where the vast majority of items have now been reduced to a single learning process, where learning a specific block unlocks all its variants.New creatures added:Mummies and Zombies:New blocks added:-Wooden Painter, which will allow you to paint wooden blocks, also mentioning new red, blue, and green wooden blocks.-Mould variants, broken barrels, and broken crates were added.-Cobwebs and destroyed brick blocks were added.-Ceiling and floor chandeliers.-Dried blood.-Castle chair, Jeryte throne.-Snow cape block.A new tier of armor and tools was added, the most powerful currently being Greenite:This mineral can be obtained early in dungeons to obtain the pickaxe. Later, you can use it to go to caves to obtain the mineral. The world creation menu and main menu have been slightly revamped.Other details have been added. In the creative menu, you can now see the name of the creative menu item.A ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Robert de León)Patch NotesOfficial
Next update!
Hello everyone! I know I've been away, I've been busy with a lot of things, but one of them has been the Dungeons update for SurvivalWorld. In my opinion, the update looks great, bringing a lot of content!Among many things, we'll have an introduction to the game's story. In the dungeons or ruins you find around the world, you'll find books containing notes from an old survivor of the Island. Some bugs have been fixed, and the building system has been reworked. You won't notice any difference except when placing blocks. However, it's now more optimized. You can't place blocks inside other blocks, etc.I've also removed the shadow reduction effect for better performance; it's no longer necessary.A new set of armor, blocks, and tools, this being the most powerful, which can only be obtained in ruins. So get ready. There are several different types of ruins, but not many. Technically, to avoid further delay, I'll release this update with all this content and then get to work on the update that will bring villages and villagers. And to finish off this news section, I've introduced a new learning system. In addition to the existing one, you'll now be able to find recipes in ruins and other places, which you'll need to learn to unlock new items! In addition to adding colored wood, for now it'll only be red, blue, and green, but I'll be introducing more colored blocks later. Some imagesRead full article on Community Announcements (Robert de León)
