About this game

★A "death game" of the smallest scale!★

You play as the amnesiac protagonist, trapped in a mysterious house with two other captives. You quickly learn that the only way to escape is to have one of the three of you die.

★Meet your new friends (or enemies)!★

★Investigate rooms, talk to pretty girls, and make life-or-death choices!★

Inspired by popular mystery adventure game series such as Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, and Zero Escape, YAKG's gameplay offers a mix of immersive dialogue branches, point-and-click room investigations, and some mystery solving--if you can keep everyone from killing each other!

    1st Anniversary - Message from YAKG's Creator

Hello, this is Jun, the creator of YAKG and also...well, we’ll get to that!It has now been one whole year since the release of "Yet Another Killing Game", and what a year it has been! This was my first time leading a game project where we'd sell it for actual money, and while the development period was more or less what I'm familiar with, I didn't think there's an entire new world that comes after release! I experienced new things like being showered with praise from strangers, playing catch-up to marketing efforts, feeling euphoria from fan art of the characters, struggling to get bigshot people to look at the game, learning business and accounting concepts, speaking about my journey to younger devs, the list goes on and on and on...I can safely say that I learned way more than my decades of public education from just the past two years alone. Getting laid off from my comfy desk job and going indie meant that I had to start paying much more--maybe even too much--attention to the state of the industry and gamer culture. And as much as I could go into details about my thoughts on industry layoffs, generative AI, inflation, and more, I'll cut to the chase and say that I've had my heart ripped to shreds many times, but got up every single time because I had to be strong for not my own sake, but for my team and YAKG's fans who have chosen to bet on a novice indie dev like me.And on that note, with all of the knowledge and reputation this past year has bestowed upon me, I have now established Soulseer Studios, a new team of both YAKG and non-YAKG devs with whom I will develop my next game title, currently planned for release in 2027! There are still a LOT of things to sort out, which is why some of YAKG's online presence may get some slow, fragmented updates over the next few weeks, but we hope to be able to unify our brand and make more formal announcements very soon! In the meantime, if my ramblings here alone are enough to interest you, you can sign up for our mailing...

Version 1.3 Update: 日本語 Language Support!

**SCROLL TO BOTTOM FOR WARNING ABOUT SAVE DATA**Konnichiwa! This is Jun, the creator of YAKG YET again to talk about the latest version update!Version 1.3 of "Yet Another Killing Game" is now available! The main update here is the addition of Japanese language support, which is an ENORMOUS achievement for a 10,000+ dialogue line story-focused game like this! I cannot express enough thanks to the Japanese translator, Sasazaki, for providing a full translation to Japanese this quickly, but also for supporting me ever since the release of the very first YAKG demo in 2023--which is still available on itch.io, if anyone wants to check that out! Please note that if you attempt to load save files created in one language with the other language, you may experience some unexpected text display issues with chapter and character names. If you’re a returning player, I highly recommend starting yet ANOTHER new (killing) game if you want to check out the Japanese localization! Yep, “localization” in that there are some scenes and jokes that have been given new meaning, but I have personally reviewed them all so play without worry!BUT WAIT, there are other updates besides Japanese language support! Tutorial images have been updated based on player feedback, Achievement progress can reset anytime now (with a clear warning about Steam data!), and the rest consists of small updates to visuals. No changes have been made to the script itself so--in theory--this shouldn’t cause any save data issues, but the usual warning will be added to the bottom all the same.Time for the full update notes!V1.3NEW FEATURE: Japanese is now available in Config’s “Language” setting! Switch to “Japanese” to view the entire game’s script and textual UI elements in Japanese, including the game’s logo!A screen to choose the game’s language appears when booting up while no save data exists yetAdded the Japanese translator to About and the creditsThe About screen’s formatting has been updatedAchievement data ca...
