About the Game

See the Red Planet like never before, land for the first time all over again, and discover some brand-new secrets.

Welcome home! The award-winning sci-fi city builder is back - remastered, expanded, and more stunning than ever. Your mission: colonize Mars and survive the process, from exploration and infrastructure to welcoming human colonists and achieving long-term stability. There are new challenges to overcome, new strategies to plan, and now with an upgraded look and feel for a new generation of explorers.

All you need for this relaunched mission to create a thriving Martian settlement is a steady supply of resources, oxygen, decades of training, experience with sandstorms… and a curious attitude to discover the purpose of those weird black cubes that appeared out of nowhere. With a bit of sprucing up, this place is going to be awesome!

Surviving Mars: Relaunched brings together the original colony management game from Haemimont Games, its entire catalogue of expansions, improved and reworked, from major expansions to cosmetics and radio stations, as well as the all-new Martian Assembly update. Upgraded graphics together with updated UI will give veteran players the definitive Surviving Mars experience, and provide an ideal launch point for new commanders as well.

Are you ready? Mars is waiting for you.

The new Martian Assembly brings an expanded endgame challenge never seen in the original. Shape your Martian society through laws. Balance the needs and demands of your colonists, keep the peace and develop a long-term plan for Mars - up to and including independence from Earth!

Building a thriving colony on a planet not fit for human life brings its own challenges. Construct life-support systems, power grids, domes, and supply chains, and keep them running, because blackouts on a planet without oxygen are never a good idea. And you’re not alone. With the included ‘Space Race’ expansion, rival colonies backed by competing sponsors add even more pressure as you fight for resources and the future of Mars.

Balance critical resources like oxygen, water, power, and food to keep your colony alive. Drones build and maintain your infrastructure, while the revamped ‘Martian Express’ adds trains that move people and supplies across longer distances. Every colonist has their own needs and behaviors and smart management is essential for their survival.

Advance your colony through a deep research system that unlocks new buildings, production methods, and essential upgrades. Discover breakthroughs, resources, and hidden secrets reaching ‘Below & Beyond’ the Martian surface. With randomized maps, varied sponsors, and unpredictable Mysteries, every playthrough offers new challenges, and every decision shapes your story of survival and growth on Mars.

Terraforming is no longer a distant dream, it’s your next challenge. With the included ‘Green Planet’ expansion, you can engineer Mars into a more habitable world. As the environment transforms, introduce animal life with ‘Project Laika’, bringing the first creatures to thrive alongside your colonists. The future of Mars isn’t just survival, it’s building a self-sustaining, living planet.

    Patch 1.1.1 - Patch Notes

Hello Commander, Our first patch since Feeding the Future is here! We’ve improved how grids handle shortages, reduced Small Farm maintenance costs, and made it easier for Colonists to change trains at Large Stations. The update also includes several more bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. Check out the full patch notes below:Balance changesChanged the behavior of grids when there is not enough supply to cover the demand. Instead of turning the whole grid off, buildings will be disabled in stages depending on their priority - first, all low priority buildings will shut down; if there is still not enough resource to cover the remaining buildings, the medium priority ones will shut down; finally, if there is still not enough for the remaining buildings, everything will shut downReduced the maintenance cost of the Small FarmSmall Farms are now affected by the same things that affect the conventional FarmsThe Mineral Treatments upgrade is now available for Hospitals. It still does not apply to the Medical Center spireBug fixes Buildings Fixed an issue where refabbing a building destroyed the resources stored inside itFixed an issue where Faction Likes/Dislikes related to shifts were triggered for buildings with automated shiftsFixed an issue where extractors that were turned off and back on could immediately put surrounding buildings into needing maintenanceFixed an issue with doubled icons for selected recipe in the Replicator spireFixed an issue where a wrong warning message was displayed for Open Farms during Toxic RainsFixed an issue where Trains would get deleted when demolishing their Train Station; they are now returned as prefabsFixed an issue where destroyed Universal Tunnels became useable again by saving and reloading the savegamePassage entry points can now be built on Capital City edge hexesIndoor and outdoor vacant work slots are now listed separately in Domes' info panelsBuildings that can be constructed only once, such as Wonders, no longer show ...

Services & Science Patch Notes - Version 1.1.0

Research Redesign The legacy research system was replaced with a new tech tree. Research now accumulates toward generating Tech Points.Tech Points are used to instantly unlock Technologies. All Technologies cost 1 Tech Point. Each new Tech Point requires more Research than the last, creating implicit long-term scaling.Technologies are placed on a spatial, hex-based research grid.Tech Points can be spent only on adjacent Technologies to already researched nodes.Wonder Technologies sit far from the origin and require sustained, focused commitment.Breakthrough Technologies and Mystery/Story Technologies are discovered separately and are not bound to the main research grid.Initiatives are additional entry points to different sections of the board that you can uplock by completing certain goals. Anomalies and exploration can unlock off-path Technologies within a capped radius of current progress.Added ~50 new Technologies.Added a Search function. Replaced the old research queue with a new Wishlist. Wishlisted Technologies will be auto-researched when the needed Tech Points and connections become available. The amount of wishlisted Technologies is not capped, but they cannot be freely rearranged in the queue - there are controls to remove Technologies from the Wishlist, to move a selected Technology to the top of the Wishlist, and to clear the whole Wishlist.Exchange Technology with Rival Colonies is now Exchange Research and works by offering a Technology that the player has unlocked and the Rival hasn't. In exchange, the Rival provides Research. The amount of Research received in this exchange is based on the Rival’s Research per Sol.Unlocking all the available technologies is possible but extremely hard. Find out more about Research redesign and the design intent behind it in the "Lab Leaks" Dev Diary.Services Redesign The legacy Services system that relied on visits was replaced with a new system with an aggregated approach. The Stats (Health, Sanity, Comfort, Morale) of...

Surviving Mars: Relaunched - What's New Since Release

Hello Commanders,When Surviving Mars: Relaunched went live last November, we mentioned that it was the launch pad for a new era of Surviving Mars, with more to explore down the line. Tomorrow, we drop a free update that rebuilds two of the systems sitting closest to the heart of the game, alongside the first part of our Prime Mission - the content pack Feeding the Future. Before we get to what's coming, it's worth taking a note of what's already here. If you last visited Mars around launch, the colony you'd land in today is a noticeably different place, and a lot of that is down to the reports, saves, and forum threads you've sent our way. Below are some highlights of what’s happened in the last few months, and if you want to get into the nitty-gritty details, check out the full patch notes log here: Complete Changlog for patch 1.0.1 to 1.0.7 - Asteroids - Asteroids no longer expire. No timer, no scramble to evacuate before a rock slips out of orbit, access is something you build toward instead. They have more buildable ground and better-distributed deposits, and Micro-G extractors now come in dedicated Metals, Rare Metals, and Exotic Minerals variants. Rockets can now fly directly between Earth, Mars, and asteroids in any combination with auto-depart logic, and Exotic Minerals are exportable to Earth. Under the hood, changes have been made to make them behave more consistently, and modders can now do considerably more with them. - The Underground - At launch, we got feedback that the Underground still felt like a separate game, and today it’s much more intertwined. The Elevator is no longer a resource-transfer puzzle - it's a Universal Storage existing on both maps at once, with per-resource controls telling drones which side to spend on. More importantly, a connected surface and underground share one power and life support grid instead of two trying to balance each other out. And special underground domes are gone: every regular dome can be built down there. - Tra...
