Explore Baltimore's hidden magic as you unravel your ex-girlfriend's mysterious murder. Dive into an urban fantasy comedy where every clue leads to a new twist.
About this game

You follow the story of the main character – which you may choose to be male or female – as they learn of the mysterious death of their ex-girlfriend, Lisa Harrison. Soon, the main character finds themselves fumbling through the hidden society of supernatural beings that lurk in plain sight. Some are very much like the legends suggest, while others couldn’t be further from what one would expect.
Will our hero piece together the puzzle behind the murder of Lisa Harrison, or will they be consumed by new attention they’ve brought upon themselves?

Solving a murder while also discovering that there's a whole supernatural world out there is quite a feat, but thankfully you'll have some help! A rowdy country-girl childhood friend, a tricky fae, and even a police detective are amongst your allies as you unravel the threads.
Of course... who's to say that these accomplices aren't also suspects?

Why is the word "adult" in quotes, up there?
Simply put, "Mythos, Book One" does have some sexual content in it. Five lovely ladies are helping you with your investigation, and as you investigate Lisa's death, you may find yourself becoming romantically entangled with one (or all!) of them. If that happens, things can get very spicy, very quickly. However, you can also choose to completely forgo any romantic encounters at all, choosing to instead focus only on the detective work. Whichever you pick, the core story of the murder investigation will be unaffected by whatever amorous side quests you choose to partake in. Mythos is, first and foremost, a mystery visual novel. There's just some naughty bits thrown in if that's the sort of thing you're into.
And for those of you who want the romance without the naughtiness (or if you plan to stream the game), there's a toggle that lets you skip right past any of the NSFW bits, even if you do choose to get closer to one of the ladies.

Mythos Character Interview - Hattie Sheppard
Author’s Note: Sorry for how long this one took, Mythies! As I mentioned in my last update, it’s hard to write when depressed and stressed, so it’s been all code and renders for me. Until now! I hope you enjoy, and hope all the sleuths out there pick up the hints that are dropped. Even better if you pick up the hints and run in entirely the wrong direction! That’s always fun to watch.Jessica Lee: Good morning, Baltimore! I’m Jessica Lee with WETT, back in our interview studio with one of the main characters from the upcoming game Mythos, Book Two: Legendary Lore. Last time we talked to main character of indeterminate gender Vic Mercury. Today we have the first of the four love interests: Hattie Sheppard! Welcome to the studio, Hattie!Hattie Sheppard: Good morning, Jessica Lee!JL: (Pause) Um… do you only use full names the way Sophia did?HS: What? Oh! No, no, sorry about that. I just thought using your whole name sort of flowed better. Sesh – er – Sophia may have rubbed one out on me a bit.JL: She did what?HS: Rubbed one out? As in… I may have adopted some of her mannerisms?JL: I’m… mostly sure that’s not how the saying goes. Regardless, it’s great to have you! Since you already brought it up, you’re connected to Sophia from Book One in some way?HS: Indeed! Sophia and I go way back. Way, way, way back. JL: So should we expect Sophia to also be a major player in Book Two?HS: Hmm… I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to say, but due to how Book One ended, you may note that Sophia sort of took to traveling. As such, if she appears in Book One, it’s not going to be near the beginning, and it likely won’t be in a large capacity.JL: I see. Now many players of Book One who have read the Tales From Mythos think they’ve identified who you –HS: I’m Hatshepsut.JL: Excuse me?HS: That’s what the theory is, yes? That I’m Pharoah Hatshepsut? They’re correct.JL: (Looking around nervously) And you’re allowed to just… say that?HS: It’s revealed very early in the game, and is hardly centr...Read full article on Community Announcements (Nine of Swords)Patch NotesOfficial
Mythos Update - September 1st, 2026
Hey, Mythies! So this update is gonna be a kinda short one. Not because I didn't get a lot done - I definitely cranked out a bunch of renders. The scene you can see above I may redo, though; I'm not sure I entirely like the way Sylvia's ballroom looks for this scene. It's supposed to look different than it did in Book One, since this is years later, but I feel like it doesn't have the right... thing. What the French call a certain "I don't know what."The reason I got a lot done, however, is because stuff has been rough. Not just from me turning 47 yesterday, but we also lost our little orange cat (Cecil). He's the one who's been in many of my "self" renders, and he's even sitting on my lap during Book Two's "Author's Foreword". I'm not going to rerender the whole foreword to remove him, but there's still a cat-shaped hole in my heart. For the first time in my entire life I'm not living with a dog or a cat. Sure, we still have our gecko, but she's not exactly huggable. Anyway, people who follow me on various socials or are in my Discord server may have noticed I've been withdrawn. Grief hit me hard, so I basically channeled all that energy into doing work on the game. Thankfully all the writing is done, because I can't channel anything into that part of my creative brain right now. Incidentally, this is why Hattie's character interview has been a bit delayed. I'll have that out this month (and possibly even a few other interviews or Tales From Mythos). Regardless, I promised to keep y'all in the loop at least once a month, and I don't want non-Discord folks thinking I fell off the face of the planet, so here I am! Keep the legends alive! - NineRead full article on Community Announcements (Nine of Swords)AnnouncementsOfficial
Mythos Character Interview - Vic Mercury
Author’s Note: Hey, Mythies! Here’s the first of our Book Two previews that take the form of character interviews. It’s important to note that these interviews will contain spoilers for Book One, so if you haven’t played that one yet, you may wanna skip them until you do!Jessica Lee: Good morning, Baltimore, and welcome back. We’re here in our brand new studio to talk about the upcoming sequel to Mythos, Book One. Mythos, Book Two: Legendary Lore is a brand new entry in the Mythos series, and the demo is going to be releasing… er… soon. As before, I will be interviewing the cast of Mythos to get the scoop on what we can expect out of this new installment in the Mythos franchise. Appropriately enough, our first interview is with the main character themself: Vic Mercury! Welcome to the show, Vic. Vic Mercury: Hey, yeah, thanks for having me, Jessie. JL: (Taking a deep breath) That’s… that’s Jessica, please. VM: Right, whatever.JL: So you’re the protagonist of Book Two –VM: That’s some fantastic journalism, there, Jessie. JL: (Grimacing) – but are you connected in any way to Ky Nelson from Book One?VM: Nope. Well, not at the start, I guess.JL: Ah, so we will be seeing Ky from Book One.VM: Are you trying to get Nine to kill me? I’m not going to give you any spoilers! But you do know that Ky’s cousin Jodi is going to be one of the main characters in this one, so like… that kinda makes us connected, in a way.JL: Right, right, we’ll be talking to her soon. So what’s going on in this game? Are we picking up right where we left off at the end of Book One?VM: No, which is weird. It takes place some years later, but it doesn’t say how much longer after Book One. No exact year is given, and I think that’s how Nine is going to do things from now on.JL: Is it so we can’t be certain of what’s going on, do you think?VM: I think it’s because Nine doesn’t wanna make math mistakes with character birthdays again. JL: Um, okay… so is this another murder mystery, then?VM: Kinda. People d...Read full article on Community Announcements (Nine of Swords)Patch NotesOfficial
Mythos Update - August 1st, 2026
Okay, Mythies! I’m back in it fully, now!For those of you just tuning in to “The Nine Show”, let me do a real quick rundown.Morgana (my partner) tore her rotator cuff.Said rotator cuff injury required surgery, which requires a good amount of time off work.Morgana doesn’t have that much paid time off. While recovering, Morgana basically can’t do anything on her own (including… potty business).Because of this, Nine was super-stressed and also too busy to get much done on Mythos.Sadly, this resulted in over a month where I could only get a few renders done, but I did make the most of my time in other ways. In between all the cooking and cleaning and bathing and such, I got all my stuff in order for when I could sit back down and do some real work. Part of that was a much-needed reorganization of my Mythos… “filing system”.My previous system was keeping about half of it in my head, with everything else scattered between various Google docs, text files, and random stuff I’d jot down in a notes app on my phone as I thought of them. I’ve had Scrivener for a while, so I decided to compile everything Mythos-related into that so I’d have a single searchable database of all the stuff I needed to know. This made things a ton easier, especially since Scrivener has ways to easily cross-reference things so I can look at a character and see everywhere I’ve put them and every random thing they may have said. Now the time of struggles seems to have mostly passed. Morgana isn’t nearly back to full physical capacity, yet. However, she’s out of the sling and her job is working with her to give her light things she can do so she’s back to being paid full time. I couldn’t have made it financially without the help of some very generous donors, so thanks again to everyone who kept us fed during this time! I worry about how this is going to factor into our taxes come January, but that’s a worry for 2027 me. I did still get renders done, as I will continue to prove by using in-game renders for ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Nine of Swords)Patch NotesOfficial
Mythos Update - July 1st, 2026
July is here, and it's... really freaking hot. I weep for my future electric bill. Hell, I weep for my current electric bill.Heh... "current". Electric. Gosh, I'm funny. I was perhaps overly optimistic when I thought I'd be able to get a lot of work done on renders, and to be fair I actually did. As you can see above, I'm still cranking out renders for Book Two, as you can see above. No, I'm not going to give any context on what the hell is going on there. That's just something for you to look forward to. But I said I was overly optimistic because I didn't get nearly as much done as I'd wanted. I knew I'd have to be helping out Morgana (my partner) as she recovers from rotator cuff surgery, but neither of us realized just how debilitating it would be to have her dominant arm completely immobilized. Sure some things were obvious, such as I'd have to help her shower, carry things, and so on. However, the pain of the surgery, along with the clumsiness of the sling, also limit what she can do with her non-dominant arm. She quickly became bored because she couldn't do most things she wanted to do, and we also joyfully learned that she can't even use the bathroom on her own. I'll let you use your imagination there, but I've had to rein in my germaphobia severely for her sake. Her physical therapy starts next week, so hopefully that'll give us a better handle on what she can do and how soon she'll be able to do it.So, in summary, the demo isn't ready yet. I'm very sorry about that. But I think everyone knows that I have a full-time job on top of Mythos, and now with being a temporary caretaker some things have to be set aside for a moment. One final note - I have to give so many thanks to the people who came forward to help us out financially in this really trying time. While we're struggling with getting our life back on track after the surgery, we're also struggling financially because Morgana isn't getting paid during this time. Her job is secure, thanks to the FMLA (I ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Nine of Swords)
