In Erosion, every death costs you decades as you explore a dynamic, destructible voxel world. Join cults, gamble with Cheddar, and fight through endless roguelike challenges to save your kidnapped daughter.

About this game

Your daughter's been kidnapped by a warlord and dragged into the mysterious living Pillar that warps time itself. You're gonna get her back. The catch? When you die, the world jumps forward a decade, aging your daughter and changing the world around you.

Die in a dungeon? Wake up ten years later. That peaceful farm is now a cultist compound worshipping the Great Ol' Rooster. That store owner you helped? They've built an empire. Your choices permeate across decades, transforming factions, townsfolk, and entire regions. Once you’ve mastered full timeline control, you can rewrite every possible future.

Explore a massive wasteland overworld where you can join a cult, steal a slick new ride, and gamble your hard-earned Cheddar away at the Al Cashino. Go sand fishing for buried creatures, hunt bounties, try your luck in duels, or just race trucks through the salt flats. Complete quests to unlock permanent upgrades and reshape the future.

Collect dozens of weapons from ritual bows that draw their strength from your blood, to homing smart guns, to the legendary Ebony Rooster that shoots bouncy eggs. Experiment with 100+ skills and modifiers to create absurd synergies. Command an army of cats. Deploy orbital turrets. Clone yourself. The build possibilities are endless.

Destructible voxel environments mean cover is temporary and collateral damage is guaranteed. Blow up walls, turn locations into rubble, and flip the poker table! Physics-driven destruction meets bullet-hell combat for that sweet, sweet emergent mayhem.

    The Erosion Playtest Starts NOW!

Welcome to the Erosion PlaytestHowdy Cowboys, Erosion is a roguelike dungeon crawler but dying skips time forward. How old will your daughter be when you reach her? How will the world outside the dungeon change each decade? This Playtest features a very early build of the game that includes 2 Dungeons Tiers and their Boss battles, 2 Biomes of the Overworld and an assortment of Quests spanning 2 branching Timelines (2 decades of in-game time). Join the Erosion Discord Your feedback is one of the most important parts of this playtest. Share bugs, discuss builds, compare timeline choices, and help us shape the future of Erosion as development continues. We can't wait to hear what you discover out there in this wild game.On average, it should take 2-3 hours to discover all content in this Playtest but there are a lot of variables! You can choose how many Dungeon runs you want to challenge and how far off the beaten path you’ll explore in the Overworld. The objective Fight your way down the Pillar to save your Daughter. Upon death, explore the Overworld, take on Quests to build up your strength at your Camp before returning to the Pillar for another descent. Discover how your actions, or lack thereof, change the world around you when the decade skips forward.Once you've spent a bit of time with the game, please let us know what you think! You can do that by answering the survey that will be linked in game, discussing here in the Steam forums, or joining our Discord server. We know that the branching Timelines is a big part of what makes Erosion a unique roguelike. So far, we've mostly been working on the combat gameplay and getting all the systems in place so to be completely frank, there isn't a lot of time-jumping in this Playtest! Now that we've got all those systems working, we can focus on adding more quests and branching paths. We have many of them planned already but for now, we wanted to give you a taste of what's to come! Outside of the main branching quests, th...

    Playtest Starting June 23

Howdy Cowboys! We’ve finally got some big news to share. Erosion’s first public playtest will open on June 23 and run through June 30 on Steam!Over the past several months we’ve been hard at work expanding the world, refining systems, and making sure the game delivers on the weird neon-west roguelike experience we’ve been building toward. This will be the first playable version of the game shown to anyone in the public and we’re excited for you to play it!For those just hearing about the game, Erosion is a roguelike where every death pushes the world forward by 10 years. Your daughter has been kidnapped and dragged into a mysterious pillar that twists time itself. Each failed run means the world changes, towns evolve, factions rise and fall, and your daughter grows older while you fight your way deeper into the dungeon trying to save her.The Open OverworldOne of the things that makes Erosion different from most roguelikes is the overworld. Between dungeon runs, you’ll explore a giant neon-west wasteland filled with quests, minigames, factions, and odd residents.Progressing in the open overworld will let you build your Camp. It's a form of meta-progression that will make you stronger for all dungeon runs moving forward. Some quest lines will even have branching paths and significant consequences that you'll only see years in the future. The Time PillarOf course, the heart of the game is still the dungeon itself. Inside the Pillar you’ll fight through dangerous enemies, chaotic encounters, and massive arcade-inspired bosses while collecting increasingly ridiculous gear and upgrades. There are dozens of weapons with unique behaviors and modifiers. Some are practical. Others are less so, at least on the surface. You might carry a revolver one run and a weaponized chicken the next. On top of that, abilities and modifiers can completely transform how your build plays, letting you experiment with all kinds of broken combinations.Every run is about finding powerful synergies,...
