ROAM Gameplay Update #2
Another update for ROAM! This update includes some technical adjustments that will hopefully help with lag/performance issues on some computers. In addition, there is now weather! In addition to the new and improved day-night cycle, there is now a chance for cloudy days, rainy days, and thunderstorms! Look out for shooting stars at night too! As always, let me know if you run into any issues while playing!Read full article on Community Announcements (chipkengames)Patch NotesOfficial
ROAM Gameplay Update #1
Hi friends! I hope you are all still having fun roaming around! This update aims to address some common suggestions I have received! Here is what has changed! Technical Adjustments: World Map: Accessible through the pause menu Mini Map: Can be hidden/shown along with your controls in the HUD Controller support! Menus will still require MnK, but we can now run around and control the horses with a controller! Added the “I’m stuck!” button to the pause menu - this will allow you to reset if you get stuck somewhere in the world. Adjusted the following mechanics. If the horses get stuck or cannot follow you, they will stop on their own (no more random following horses stuck on the other side of the world). Hoofprints (just for fun!). Gameplay Adjustments: Shorter day-night cycle: each day is now ~5 minutes, so the sun will rise and set! Shorter aging: The aging took way too long.. It now takes about 3 minutes to age up between ages (so 3 minutes from foal to yearling, and another 3 from yearling to adult). Puddles! There are now puddles around the world that will make you dirty if you run through them - you will need to locate some fresh water and swim to clean up! Horse randomizer buttons in the horse and herd creators - easily create some unique horses! The townsfolk should no longer fall into you randomly and get mad - but you can grab them and run around (they will not be happy about this!) Added the ability to grab objects and run around with them (hold down the right-mouse button to do so - release the button to drop the object (or . . . person)!). As always - let me know if you are running into any problems in the game or if there is anything else you'd like to see added! ROAM Upcoming Updates/Features
Hi all! I hope you are enjoying ROAM so far! Here are a few things I am currently working on (I anticipate a game update in a few weeks, depending on my school schedule). If you have any other thoughts or ideas for things you’d love to see in the game - let me know here and I will do my best!! Planned Additions to ROAM: Adding a mini map to the HUD (can be hidden with the controls) Adding a world map (to menu, you can just open this to view the world) Improve leading the horses - sometimes they get stuck far away from you or need to eat. Once they fall out of a certain radius, they will automatically stop following you. Grabbing things (!?) - I am working on making it possible for you to pick things up around the world and drag them around.Read full article on Community Announcements (chipkengames)Patch NotesOfficial
ROAM Update #1
Hi all! Thanks for playing and for the feedback on the game so far! This is just a quick update to address some of the major issues. This update addresses: - Players getting stuck in the sky - The herd horses needs declining very fast (this has been adjusted to be slower, which is hopefully better) For any serious bug reports, please report them here: BUG REPORTS or in the steam discussion tab! Also feel free to join the discord server to report any bugs/issues or share anything else with me: DISCORD SERVERRead full article on Community Announcements (chipkengames)
