2.1.0 is out: local split-screen co-op
Hello everyone, I am happy to share with you the content of the new update 2.1.0 for Poly Plaza ULTIMATE! Local co-op Two players on one screen in split-screen, in solo worlds and in online co-op sessions. Player two plays on a gamepad while player one keeps mouse and keyboard. Player two has their own save: their own money, level, stats, inventory and clothes. Houses, vehicles and resources go into player one's town. Player two can pick an existing save or create a new character, from the main menu or the pause menu, and their progress is written every time the game saves. New Local Co-op screens in the main menu and the pause menu, with Remove Player Two and Leave Split Screen. Known issue: menu focus is still shared, so while one player has a full-screen menu open the other pad navigates that menu. Controller Right-stick camera is much faster and no longer framerate dependent, and the sensitivity slider now goes up to 3 instead of 2. Fixed inverted up/down on the right stick. Invert Y still works as expected. Selling at the shop with a pad works: the Sell tab lands on the sell button and there is a proper route back to the quantity stepper. Menus no longer open with Back or Close selected, so your first A press does what you meant. Fixed navigation in the character and clothing store. Scrolling up through the craft list now keeps the whole recipe card in view. Search text in the inventory and shop shows up on gamepad instead of an empty box. Fixes The car refuel menu no longer flickers or loses its text. Car colour swatches in the purchase menu no longer flicker or swallow clicks. "Locked" and "Unavailable" labels in the craft tab are readable instead of grey on grey. The Remove button in the co-op panel is no longer stretched across the whole card. Saving from the pause menu now shows the "Game saved" notification on top of the menu. Cheers, Victor.Read full article on Community Announcements (MR.VICTOR)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 2.0.18
I added sounds to the menus and fixed three bugs you reported on our Discord. What's new UI sounds. Moving between elements plays a soft tick, pressing a button plays a click. I kept the hover tick quiet and rate limited so it does not turn into a buzz. The SFX slider works. UI sounds go through the effects volume, so that slider actually does something now. Fixes The open world map shows behind the pause menu again instead of a dim veil. It was missing from the packaged build. Car wheels no longer detach after you drive away from a car and come back. In co op this hit every car in the session. Shop keepers stand and pose correctly instead of collapsing into a point on the ground. Keep them coming, the Discord reports are what makes these fixes happen. Cheers, Victor.Read full article on Community Announcements (Victor Game Studio)Patch NotesOfficial
2.0 MULTIPLAYER UPDATE!!!
Poly Plaza ULTIMATE 2.0 This is the biggest update Poly Plaza ULTIMATE has ever had, and it earns the version number. Three things headline it: online co-op for up to four players, a completely redone UI, and full gamepad support across the whole game. Here is everything. Online Co-op You can now play Poly Plaza with friends. Open Play Co-op from the main menu, pick your save, then host a world or join one. Up to 4 players in a session. If it holds up well, I will look at raising that in a future update. Joining is a room code. The host shares their code, you type it in, you are in. Crossplay on every platform Poly Plaza ULTIMATE is available on. Your friend does not need to own it in the same place you do. You bring your own character. Your level, your money and your inventory all come with you into someone else's world. One thing to understand before you jump in: the world belongs to the host. Any house bought during the session is owned by them, and the rent from it goes to them. You keep your character, your money and your stuff, but you are building up their city, not yours. If the host leaves the session, everyone else gets returned to the main menu. Co-op is experimental for now. It is the first version of a system I have been building for a while, and it will have bugs. If you hit one, please tell me (see the bottom of this post) and I will get it fixed. A completely new UI I rebuilt the interface. Every menu, every panel. The biggest wins: A clearer crafting panel. Every recipe shows a status (Ready, Short on materials, Locked, Unavailable), what it makes, what you have versus what you need, and your character requirements. If Craft is greyed out, it tells you why. An interaction dot in the centre of the screen. It lights up when something in front of you can be interacted with, so you are not watching the corner of the screen. Stat explanations in the inventory. Every stat says what it affects, and the points banner explains where points come from. A new s...Read full article on Community Announcements (Victor Game Studio)AnnouncementsOfficial
