About the Game
Keplerian Space Discovery is a realistic spaceship trajectory simulator game.
Our solar system is built to scale and rendered with lifelike graphics.
Furthermore, the motion of each celestial body is precisely simulated using Kepler's laws.
Players can construct their own rocket by assembling various components.
Fly Me to the Moon
First, let's go to the moon, the moon.
That's one big step for us.
No rabbits.

Getting to Other PlanetsTransfers to the Moon and Mars can now be planned from a porkchop plot.Open the transfer dialog from the maneuver planner to see the required delta-v for every departure and arrival date at a glance; the transfer you pick is written straight into your maneuver node. The lowest total delta-v transfer is selected automatically when the dialog opens. Zoom in and out to change the step between dates.Once you have left Earth's sphere of influence, you can add a trajectory correction maneuver (TCM) to re-aim at your destination. You can now fast-forward to the time of a maneuver.Fixed automatic maneuver execution cutting off early and leaving the orbit short. The longer the burn, the larger the shortfall: a lunar transfer was ending up tens of thousands of kilometres low at apogee.Jump Straight to the Key MomentsA Scenarios entry has been added to the menu. Launch, rendezvous, lunar transfer and lunar landing can each be started from just before the moment itself.Atmospheres on Mars, Venus and TitanMars, Venus and Titan now have atmospheres, with drag, aerodynamic heating and pressure-dependent engine performance.Until now only Earth had a physical atmosphere — Mars had a visible one but produced no drag at all. Aerobraking and reentry heating now work there.Improved Sphere-of-Influence DisplaySpheres of influence are now shown for every body. The points where your orbit leaves or enters a sphere of influence are now marked Esc / Enc instead of being labelled Ap.When your sphere of influence changes, the camera moves to the new central body over about a second and pulls back to fit the new orbit on screen. The time acceleration limit on hyperbolic and escape trajectories is now derived from how long you take to cross the sphere of influence, so fast departures can still be accelerated properly. The tracked object's orbit line and markers now appear under the same conditions as your selected spacecraft's.Engine PartsEngine models have been rebuilt, with ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Kugelblitz)AnnouncementsOfficial

In-Game ManualThe in-game manual has been overhauled to cover everything from the controls to reading your orbit. The same manual opens from both the Mission Control Center and the Vehicle Assembly Building. It is available in 11 languages and works without an internet connection.Lifting Off Again from the MoonA spacecraft that has landed on the Moon can now light its engine and lift off again.Attitude control (SAS) just before touchdown has been improved — your spacecraft no longer flips around while braking.Thrust-to-weight ratio (TWR) is now measured against the gravity of the body you are at; on the Moon the value is about six times higher.LocalizationUntranslated and mistranslated text on the title screen and the main screen has been reviewed across all 11 languages.- Translated the title screen, the settings, the save slot list, the right-hand panel on the main screen, and the Control Keys table into every language.- Fixed the Korean title menu being off by one row, which caused "새 게임" to run Continue.- Fixed "eccentricity" appearing in Simplified Chinese characters in the Traditional Chinese build, and corrected the Chinese altitude labels to the proper terms (海拔高度 / 离地高度).- Revised the English wording as well (Scalability Level → Graphics Quality, Show/Hide Other Games → Show/Hide Other Saves, and others), with the other languages updated to match.Spacecraft CollisionsSpacecraft now collide with each other — previously they passed straight through.Approaching too fast will destroy your spacecraft, so close in slowly.Time acceleration is now automatically limited as you approach another spacecraft.Improvements- Time acceleration is now a single button that multiplies the rate by 10 with each press.- Time acceleration is now available right after liftoff (below 1 km altitude).- Pressing M during launch now pulls the camera back instead of switching to map view.- Fixed maneuver markers drifting out of place while the engine is burning.Read full article on Community Announcements (Kugelblitz)AnnouncementsOfficial
Monthly Report July 2026
Thank you for your continued support of “Keplerian Space Discovery.”Here is an update on our progress in July and our goals for August.July ProgressWe’ve implemented detailed terrain display when approaching the moon’s surface, and landing is now possible. While some adjustments are still needed, we consider this to be significant progress. We’ve also made the terrain at each rocket launch site more realistic. We plan to continue refining this and making updates, such as adding trees, in the future.August GoalsWe will be exhibiting at gamescom, held in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 to 30.Since we’ll be focusing on preparations for the event in August, I don’t expect to make major progress, but I believe we’ll be able to incorporate feedback on improvements such as translations.RoadmapThe roadmap is currently just a list of items and can be difficult to understand, so I’ll add proper explanations to it soon. The roadmap consists of 16 items, and we expect each item to take about 3 to 6 months to complete. Therefore, we estimate it will take approximately 48 months (4 years) to 96 months (8 years) to complete all items. We’ve made significant progress on the “Terrain Refinement” and “Celestial Body Landing” items.Next, we plan to focus on the “Payload Assembly” item.Read full article on Community Announcements (Kugelblitz)Patch NotesOfficial

Ver.2026-07-20 - "The Eagle has landed"
Lunar LandingToday, July 20, 2026, marks the anniversary of Apollo 11’s historic first human landing on the Moon in 1969.To commemorate this event, we’ve made it possible for you to experience a lunar landing.Select “Training” from the debug console to display shortcut buttons that will guide you from lunar orbit to a soft landing on the Moon.Basically, you’ll change your direction using “RETROGRADE,” then adjust engine thrust with the Z and X keys to aim for a lunar landing. Currently, we’ve set the conditions quite leniently: a soft landing is considered successful at speeds below 100 m/s.Here is a video showing the procedure.Ideally, we wanted to implement the ability to land a probe assembled by the player on the lunar surface, but that feature will be added at a later date. Please stay tuned.Lunar Terrain DisplayAs you approach the Moon, detailed terrain features are now displayed.Currently, the transition to detailed terrain is somewhat noticeable, but we will improve this in the future.Launch Site DetailsWe’ve added more detail to the terrain at each launch site.In the future, we’ll be enhancing the structures near the launch pads and more.Improvements・Fixed an issue where, after panning the camera while selecting a rocket on the launch pad, the camera would not return to its original position even after resetting it.・During launch, if the roll angle exceeds 90° while aligning the azimuth, the rocket will now pitch over while in a back-to-the-camera orientation to prevent unnecessary roll.・We have improved the usability of re-grabbing parts by ignoring collision detection immediately after grabbing a pre-placed part in the VAB.・We have improved the frame rate by approximately 17%.Read full article on Community Announcements (Kugelblitz)
