  Steam Trading Cards

  Trading Cards are part of a system called 'Community Items'; cards that drop based on play-time, allowing you to craft badges and unlock new wallpapers. They're a 'by invitation' kinda thing, so the game has to sell enough before it gets invited.They'll drop automatically every 45 minutes of play-time, for a total of 4 cards (after that I guess you're supposed to trade, thus the name). In the case of Wings of Empire, there are 8 new cards, 10 unlockable backgrounds, 5 emotes and a crafting badge. In addition I made a little 'steam screen booting video'; it doesn't drop automatically, just something to use your steam points on. Devs don't really get anything out of this, beyond a bit of marketing, so it's just something I do for the love of the game. On the main game side I've already started work on Act+, the sandbox expansion work. Perhaps unsurprisingly Jade immediately volunteered to be the first event. A little cryptic, but it's the only image in the series I can show without tagging the post as NSFW :)Trading cards should already have started dropping; hope you like them!

  Act V complete

  Act V is now done; I've been quietly beavering away on the Beta Branch, and finally completed the Act on Friday. It adds an additional 22 days (taking the story from day 76 to 97), and advancing it towards the end of Book 1. After the side-quest on the UNO this act brings the story back onto the Aquila, and a raid deep into Commonwealth territory. Hopefully you all enjoy it.With that done I'm going to spend some time expanding and improving the world sandbox. More events for existing girls (Astrid, Amber, Arya and Keira all have planned optional content), and a chance to interact more with girls that currently don't have any sandbox content (like Tara and Ginny). I've also submitted the Community Items for review; 8 new trading card, 10 backgrounds, new emotes and a badge to craft. I'll push it live once Valve approves it.   Wings of Empire launches!

  You were a Centurion in the Roman Legion before a combat injury forced you to retire; unwilling to give up you retrained as a fighter pilot, and as the long Pax Imperia comes to an end, you join the Fast Attack Carrier as it sails into the Dark. I grew up loving Space Opera stories; from Star Wars to Honor Harrington and Starship Troopers to Legend of the Galactic Empires. This is my love-letter to Honor Harrington and CJ Cherryh, The Lost Fleet and Space Battleship Yamato. This game's in Early Access; right now it's ~10 hours worth of game, covering 76 days. I traditionally release 2-3 updates a week on the Development Beta Branch (which is currently up to day 82), then once I finish an Act I push it to default. If you want latest (and the occasional bug) I'd recommend switching to Development Branch (right click on the game, properties, Betas, Development Branch). Wings of Empire is planned as a trilogy, in the same way as Love of Magic. Book 1 will cover the first 6 acts (around 115 days, at the current pace). Hope you like it! Would you like to know more?
