About this game
Vacunauts is a chaotic 1-4 player multiplayer co-op wave defense game. You and your intergalactic cleaning crew were hired to protect planets threatened by the evil and nefarious "Rubbish Rebels". Armed with a wide array of fun abilities, you'll need to band together in perfect harmony (or chaotic disarray) to defend the galaxy (and get a promotion).

Suit up as one of various, highly motivated, employees of the cutest Company. Get together with up to 3 friends, online or on your couch, and work diligently on your mission to defend planets all across the galaxy.

Protect the invaded planets by turning your enemies own powers against them!
Explore a load of different abilities and find your favorite one.
Stack their effects to create even more powerful weapons of mass destruction.(legal note: not every combination produces a weapon of mass destruction. Definition for weapon of mass destruction is up to the individual.)
Eliminate various kinds of monsters
More details to follow.

Hi space scouts 🪐👾Hope you're all having a good summer! My team and I took a little break from Vacunauts this month to enjoy the sun and take a breather from months and months of non-stop development, so there isn't much to update you about today. But of course we couldn't really stop working entirely 🤓 We did kick off a little side-project with another small indie-team from Hamburg (@Triflgard on Steam, go check them out!). We wanted to make a small and silly game together and ended up with a 2-player co-op rage game where you ride a tandem, haul suspicious cargo 👀, get chased by cops, sample some of that cargo yourself for more or less helpful buffs, avoid hitting pedestrians as you speed through various hazardous environments, and more!If that sounds like something you'd enjoy, join the TANDEM TOGETHER DISCORD to get regular updates and whacky screenshots of the game 🚴🚴♀️🚴♂️ The steam page will follow soon!Next month will be back to normal, so stay tuned for regular Vacunauts updates 👾💙See you then!Read full article on Community Announcements (Pixsu)AnnouncementsOfficial
Monthly Dev Log #06
Heyy space scouts 🪐👾The heat has been brutal and it's even managed to destroy my graphics card so RIP my wallet 😭💸But the show must go on, so here's what the team and I did in june: We refined some more of our menu's like our level select and win screen so they not only look nicer but also feel better to navigate with lots more animations and visual feedback! The levels of our second planet are coming along nicely and it's so nice to play in a new environment ✨We added a few new cutscenes for some levels and the new bossOur first boss is finally taking shape so stay tuned for a post revealing the finished design! Here's a rough sketch: A proper save-slot system was implemented for both off- and online playWe looked at our endless-mode again and fixed a bunch of stuff, like enemy spawning and shop balancing, so hopefully we'll be able to test it with friends soon!We added some new cool upgrades for the player like health regeneration and life stealAs unfortunate as it is that my graphics card broke, it forced us to look at performance again, because I temporarily used an old card I had laying around and lets just say, I never want to play a game with 10fps ever again 🫠 Performance optimization will take a long time but it'll be worth it 💪Stay hydrated and see you in a month 🌻Read full article on Community Announcements (Pixsu)AnnouncementsOfficial

Hullo space scouts 🪐👾Hope you're all enjoying the nice weather ☀️😎This month was all about bosses! And some other things on the side, but mostly bosses :D Before jumping into designing and creating our first boss, we looked at other games and the feedback we got from you guys to discuss what out bosses should look and feel likeWe've then created some game design concepts for all our planned bosses A blockout of the first arena and walk-up to the boss was built and testedWe've also designed and are building some new levels and mini-games for the next planet 👀 here's a sneak peak:Using Unreal's state tree plugin we've started implementing a rough version of the first boss that moves around and has different attacks and phases and everythingOur meta-progression system is coming along nicely with some new menus to buy permanent upgrades like more max health, a shield and so on...While Vacunauts is definitely not a narrative game, we want a tiny bit of story so the game and setting feels more alive so we've been working on our ideas and how we want to implement themThanks for checking in! Until next month 👋Read full article on Community Announcements (Pixsu)AnnouncementsOfficial

Hi space scouts 🪐👾I have no idea how to introduce this month's dev log 🫠 so let's just jump right in:After so many people asked for it, we've finally started working on boss-encounters ️👀 this will definitely take a whiiiiile but stay tuned! Many of our menu's and UI's are slowly being updated and beauty-fied. I would have never imagined UI turning out to be this time consuming (especially if you want cool animations everywhere) but I think it'll be worth it in the end ✨We've added a minimap with cute icons for (almost) everything! It's still a work in progress but here's an example: And here are some cute icons of our current enemies I thought you'd enjoy 🤗 We're adding bonus objectives you can complete during a run that give you stars to buy upgrades in our new meta-progression systemInput (especially with different controllers) is still giving us a lot of trouble but we won't stop until everything works smoothlyA new enemy type is almost finished. I'm thinking of making a seperate post to introduce our enemies 🤔 let me know if you'd like to see that!We added more visual effects so every ability feels and looks amazing 💅We've been super busy with updating our roadmap, other project management stuff and looking for and applying to more funding. Game development isn't just working on the game sadly ;-;We had a great time at Baltic Game Fest in Neumünster Germany! Thanks for everyone who visited us and played Vacunauts 🧡We'll keep you updated ☀️Read full article on Community Announcements (Pixsu)
