Immerse yourself in Impious, an indie RPG where every decision shapes your character as you navigate an underground facility. Loot, craft, and fight through roguelite elements, mastering your impulses to find the exit.
About this game
You are a captive inside an underground complex built to eradicate individuality and indoctrinate those they consider Impious, not just by force, but through a system.
Each floor is a layer of it, each room a challenge. Getting out means learning to move within their rules before you can break them.
FEATURES
LOOT
Build your character around an extensive Diablo-style item system: weapons, amulets and artifacts packed with affixes to combine. Define your character by optimizing your attributes, odds and stats to survive.
MANAGE YOUR IMPULSES
As a human, you have your impulses, and those impulses must be managed. Assign attribute points and equip gear to stack impulses onto your skills, either on yourself or on your enemies. Spend energy to generate new impulses or reroll them at a cost. Choose wisely which impulses to use each turn, on which skill, on who, and when.
CHOOSE YOUR PATH
Each door shows the odds of what lies behind it. You can build toward finding what you want: shrines, special loot, merchants or different types of enemies. Only you decide when and what to risk.
MAKE YOUR DECISIONS
Each room presents a challenge to overcome, and each challenge a set of decisions to face it with. Your build's stats define the odds of success in every interaction.
CRAFTING
The facility is full of materials, use them. Craft weapons or consumables quickly with a straightforward crafting system.
NEGOTIATE
Some of the center's servants may be willing to deal. Money has no place in this world, but every object has value within it. Barter wisely.
...
Losing a fight doesn't end your run, but you will be corrected and re-educated. Manage your will carefully, because losing it all means there is no coming back.

Impious Demo is out!!
Finally! After a hellish summer of hard work, the first demo build is public!I could post a massive changelog of implemented systems and bug fixes, but instead I'm going to sum up what the demo contains and highlight some of its features.Demo content:Full first level.3 playable classes.A limited set of rooms, items, NPCs, and enemies. An in-depth tutorial. Some new features:Music: The game now has a layered music system that plays different tracks depending on the game context, so you're not always hearing the same thing. The soundtrack is composed by Daniel Patrick Swain.Sound: A full set of handcrafted SFX, all synthesized and recorded specifically for the game.Modding: A raw modding tool that allows players to tweak parameters at will. It's still very W.I.P. and quite hidden, but the game has been built from the ground up with modding in mind. New characters, including the boss and the Enforcer.Feedback & Telemetry: I've made some utilities to receive direct feedback and collect some stats for balancing. All collected data is anonymous. Hopefully, this will help me make the game better!Performance fixes: The game now runs better on lower-end hardware and lower settings. I still need more hardware data before updating the official requirements, though.Reviewed texts and Spanish localization (by Rocío Solares Saínz): The game can now be played in Spanish too. I'm aiming to add more languages in the future. I'm aiming to add more languages in the future, but proper localization takes time and budget. And an infinite amount of bug fixes and balance tweaks.I hope this demo gives you a better idea of what the game is becoming, and that I can get some valuable feedback from players around the world to keep improving it.Thank you all, and I hope you like it!Cheers! Impious v0.1.3(4) - Performance boost!
This patch focused on fixing a couple of performance issues that were affecting performance on lower end devices, at the same time new rooms were designed and modelled with their specific loot containers. The performances issue was quite difficult to find, but luckily they were quite easy to fix, so I could boost the performance by ≈2.5 while putting new assets, loots and rooms at the same time. Also fixed camera issues and collisions/geometry fade, and even, as a coincidence feature, you can play it like an FPS if you prefer!CHANGELOG v0.1.3 (4)- Massive performance boost, now should work fine in older devices.- New specific designed rooms (sorted by it's function in the facility). Removed generic ones. - Better camera collision and collided non wall objects fading system.- Loot container overhaul. Now loots makes more sense with the world. Even any object could be a container.- Now loot containers highlight by default, prevent missing them before moving to the next room- Several bugfixesRead full article on Community Announcements (Rabocop)Patch NotesOfficial
v0.1.2 Update and Patch Notes
Following more feedback this update includes:CHANGELOG v0.1.1 (2)- Grabbing items now follow standard drag items mouse mode- Item Tooltip overhaul with complete comparison and better readability- Player won't be able to retreat nor change equipment during combat anymore - Stacked consumables on belt now updates properly either as an item or as an in-combat skill- Trading: Trading for stacked items now moves the full stacked items instead of just one- Crafting: The recipes now also takes your items in your input bag in consideration apart from your inventory so now it doesn't lead to misunderstanding - Removed dual wielding and two handed weapons as they were giving more problems than sense to playability. Now the offhand items should be more important to boost their specific stats and mechanics in the gameplay rather than being obstructed with just more weapon-related affixes.- Bugfix: Equipped items doesn't require to have a space in the inventory- Bugfix: Solved a crash in which you could select an empty consumable skill and try to apply- Bugfix: Strengthen skill now can be self applied as it should Note: Current characters will be wiped to prevent crashesRead full article on Community Announcements (Rabocop)Patch NotesOfficial
