About this game

JOURNEY THROUGH THE AGES TO ASCEND YOUR EMPIRE

  • Build a nation from nothing into a thriving empire.

  • Grow your economy, manage resources, and secure prosperity.

  • Raise a powerful army, expand your borders, and crush your enemies.

  • Lead your realm to victory and carve your legacy into history.

MASTER WAR ACROSS ERAS

From tactical skirmishes to massive sieges, adapt your strategy to the evolving battlefield. A knight might dominate open plains, but crumble against fortified walls. Success requires a mix of unit types, calculated positioning and anticipation of your enemies’ next move.

Fight across procedurally generated maps, handcrafted battlefields, or fully custom scenarios - each shaped by rolling hills, natural choke points, vast oceans, dense forests, sandy shores and towering mountains. No two campaigns will ever play the same.

ADVANCE THROUGH AGES

Begin with humble villages and militias, then research technologies to unlock mighty siege engines, armored knights and more. As you progress, resources evolve, choices multiply and your world grows more complex - forcing sharper, more impactful strategic decisions.

A WORLD OF STRATEGY AWAITS

Legendary battles, emergent narrative and endless exploration - build your own grandeur in an accessible entry to the turn-based strategy games. Do you have what it takes to ascend?

    Anniversary Update - Update 0.5

The Anniversary Update is here!Hello again! We are happy to announce this major update to Ascendant Realms! It’s officially been one year (and a bit, heh) since Ascendant Realms launched on Steam! And what does it bring? Well... quite a lot actually. Let's dive right in!Reworked Movement SystemWe completely changed the way movement is handled, with each move now being animated step-by-step, letting you know what your enemies are up to during your off-turn! We also made sure this system is way more optimized than the old, making longer and larger games run much more smooth, even on older devices!Reworked Turn SystemWe have also completely revamped our turn system, to work smoother and be more clear as to which player is currently playing, while also being much more performance friendly and focusing on reliability when playing during multiplayer.Multiplayer ChangesSteam integration has been expanded, and our lobby system has been improved in variety of aspects. This includes variety of new features, and smaller fixes, as well as bug fixes of some issues, encountered in the past. Here they are:AddedIn the lobby, both Steam nicknames, and profile pictures are now properly displayed.Instead of players being addressed numerically, they are now identified as colors instead, to avoid confusion. For example "Player 1" is now referred to as "Player Blue". Hopefully, this makes it easier for you identify your friends or foes!Players may now choose their color in the lobby, which also determines their turn order, allowing for much customization, and even choosing your proffered position when playing custom scenarios.Players who prematurely disconnect from the game, or leave, are now properly replaced with AI players, and the game continues seamlessly.FixedMid-game issues leading to the multiplayer connection being lost, and game being stopped.Sometimes the players would not load in properly due to the first connection failing. After one player has been defeated, an issue would occu...

Setting the Sails - Update 0.4

Hello again! We are back with the next major content expansion - the Setting the Sails Update. It's our biggest update to date, featuring many new units, technologies and even custom events!Big thanks to anyone that participated both in internal and public playtest, we really appreciate the help and feedback given! Here's the full changelog of what we're bringing to life this time.Full Naval ReworkSo far the naval combat has been rather simplistic, with only 2 naval units, being available. This update aims to address it. As such a bunch of new naval units have been introduced, each with different strenghts and weaknesses! Here's the rundown:Transport ShipsTransport Cog - A primitive transport ship used to transport units. It's relatively slow and unable to enter deep water, while also being relative vulnerable. Transport Ship - A direct improvement of the transport cog. This ship is much faster, more resilient and may enter deep water.Light Ships Scout Ship - Cheap light vessel good for early exploration, or preying on defenseless transport, but poor war vessel overall.Corsair - A very quick vessel, good for both exploration and harassment, while being more resilient than the scout ship.Heavy Ships Galley - A larger galley equipped with a primitive balistae for effective ship to ship combat, good for fighting lighter vessels. Galleon - A mighty galleon, equipped with top of the line armaments for naval domination, expensive but domineering on the sea against all but few ships.Anti-heavy ShipsFire Galley - A galley equipped with a greek fire launcher, very effective against heavier vessels, but has a very small attack range.Siege ShipsSiege Galleon - These fearsome ships are equipped with long range mortar, to devastate the enemy buildings from long distances. If you control the seas, you may use these to reduce the enemy economy to rubble.Various ships are worth using when dealing with other ship types and for different purposes. For example heavy ships deal best wit...
