Floodcore is a puzzle adventure game in which you explore an ancient civilization in a flooded world, and discover a mysterious power to overcome the temple's challenges.

This game is a vertical slice made by 5 French students within 8 months as a graduation project. You can expect 15 to 30 minutes of gameplay depending on your affinity with puzzle games and your sense of spatial awareness in a 3D environment.

Your power allows you to swap positions with specific objects in the world, or swap them together. Delve further into the temple and solve puzzles that require you to become a part of them.

Each area expands on the swap mechanic and makes you use it in different ways.

Some will challenge you and require you to anticipate several moves ahead, while others will need you to figure out every possibility, and there are often several different solutions for them!

You will discover multiple ruins laid by an ancient civilisation, each with its own visuals and purpose.

From the temple's surface to its underground, all the way to a luxuriant garden, you will experience each area differently with their puzzles and atmosphere.

At any point in time, you can take a step back and enjoy the calm atmosphere with the sound of waves, birds, wind and waterfalls.

We're working on Floodcore again! (join us on Discord)

Hi everyone, we're very excited to announce we're working on Floodcore again!First of all, we'd like to thank each and everyone of you who played our little game. We've read all reviews and comments, and it's always a pleasure to come back to them. You are the reason we're coming back to make Floodcore into a full game!We cannot thank you enough! So let's get into it: What have we planned for the game?We have big plans and ambitions:A lot more content with dozens of puzzles,More life and immersive interactions,A proper storyline and lore.So far, we have planned roughly 10 different areas, spanning several hours of content. We want to create a vibrant world with a lot of variety in environments and architecture. Each with different colors, moods... and mechanics! We've expanded on the main mechanic, the swap, and want to add new ways for you to play with it.We won't spoil much right now, but here is a sneak peek:And yes you will be able to sit on benches (finally!)We'll show more content in the future, and of course we'll address the issues we had with the demo, and aim for a more polished experience. We want to be transparent with you at all times during production (we won't spoil the game too much though :p).We got back to Floodcore about 2 months ago, we've made a good amount of pre-production and started working on a new level. We're sitting at 20~25m of gameplay, but we're hitting a roadblock. We need to fund the game in order to work on it full-time.There are 5 of us working on the game, and we estimate about a year of production to make the full game with our ambitions. We're getting ready to contact publishers, but there's a chance it might fail, given the state of the industry.Either way, we want to make Floodcore into a full game. This project is very dear to us, and we really want to bring it to life for all of you.As some of you suggested, we are considering a Kickstarter campaign, especially if we get no external funding. But even if we successfully launch ...

    Floodcore production discontinued for now

Hello everyone, I never thought I would have to make this announcement, but sadly Floodcore’s development will not be continued in the near future. As you know Floodcore is a student project, and the 5 of us have graduated and are now looking for a job in the industry. We would have loved to continue working on the game, we had more functional mechanics and puzzles to expand the game with, but simply no time to implement them with the same quality as the existing ones. Developing Floodcore into a fully fledged game would take months, if not years, depending on the size of the team. Puzzle games need a crazy amount of playtesting and fine-tuning. Given the state the industry is in, finding a publisher and/or funds would be exceedingly difficult. Reading all the reviews on Steam made me hope that we could continue production for everyone who enjoyed Floodcore, but I’m afraid it won’t be happening. I’m very sorry to disappoint you, we do not have the means to continue a full time production as we did during our studies. Thank you very much to everyone who took an interest in our small game. Reading your reviews fills us with joy, but also sadness, for not being able to meet your expectations. We are very happy to know that players enjoy Floodcore, and we are really grateful for your kind words, they mean a lot to us. I will still be on the lookout for issues on the current version to make small patches, for any new or returning players. On behalf of the Floodcore team, thank you! Julien

    Small patch

This small patch addresses issues from recent feedback. - FPS are now capped to 60, and should be smoother on all hardware - Lowered the background music during gameplay These changes may have an unsignificant impact for most players, but hopefully those who needed them can enjoy Floodcore without issues!
