Embark on a top-down 2.5D adventure where you wield divine weapons and navigate a changing world to break the curse of Nyx, guiding humanity's revival in this Action RPG from Radical Fish Games.

About this game

Alabaster Dawn is an Action RPG building on top of the best aspects of Radical Fish Games' previous title CrossCode, featuring a deep and engaging combat system, challenging puzzles and an epic story set in a curious world full of secrets to discover and places to explore.

The shadow of Nyx has fallen, warping the world into a wasteland and vanishing the gods and their people. Now, Juno, the Outcast Chosen, awakens to an impossible task: bring it all back.

Tiran Sol, a World in Ruin

Alone and without the guidance of the gods, Juno finds herself in a ruined world she once called home. Her task: awaken the rest of humanity and rid the world of Nyx. Only in unity can the world be rebuilt and only through the strength of a Chosen can the curse be broken.

But where are the gods? How long has humanity slept and what is the mysterious entity known as Nyx?

A (planned) 30-60 hours of playtime await you in this massive adventure, with 7 unique areas and many secrets to uncover. Rebuild settlements, establish trade routes and advance science by helping people. Each new advancement will be accompanied by the settlements changing visually, opening up new paths and opportunities!

Dance around your Enemies

Experience a deep and fast-paced combat system inspired by Devil May Cry, Kingdom Hearts and CrossCode. Take full control over a total of 4 elements and 8 unique weapons of which 2 can be slotted into each element at any given time. To fight the many different enemies found in the game, you will have to make use of everything at your disposal and to help with that - you can switch your setup at any time, even during combat!

Unlock Combat Arts on each weapon’s skilltree (yes, that's one skilltree per weapon!) to pummel enemies in style, and top it all off by equipping Divine Arts to each element, unleashing powerful spells to finish off even the hardiest of foes.

Exploration

While the gods may be silent, they've left many structures and secrets for you to find. Solve challenging puzzles using your weapons and team members, parkour along hidden paths, find treasure or simply collect various resources while exploring the world of Tiran Sol. Treasure found while exploring can contain a host of different rewards, such as new recipes for the cooking system, gems to slot into your equipment, upgrade materials and many more. Whatever you do will always be a help to you or the various communities you will come across!

Can’t reach some loot yet? No worries, the world map allows you to place reminders, fast travel between landmarks/checkpoints and mark objectives. It’s up to you to decide how much guidance you want!

An RPG Through and Through

Alabaster Dawn gives you plenty of systems to build your main character. Equip gems into your weapons and core to activate powerful enchantments. These can range from simple stat increases to situational buffs that change the way you engage enemies. Expand your available gem slots using the skilltree and craft/upgrade gems via particular NPCs called “Artificers”.

You can even level-up your healing options! Cook dishes at resting spots to increase your stock of healing bulbs and unlock powerful temporary boosts. By cooking a great variety of dishes and using your boosts, you will increase your Palate Level, further enhancing the effects of your future meals. With plenty of ingredients at your disposal, it would be a waste not to turn them into precious “food XP”!

    News for Version 0.2.0

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/abe331127b682f94503d7e4d1112b69dcbd196d3.png Hello everyball and everycabbage! We’re back from Gamescom and here to talk all the things we saw! Also news for the upcoming update for Alabaster Dawn aaand… more CrossCode Merch! Progress and our plans for the 0.2.0 release Back in July we already mentioned that we wouldn’t quite make our initial goal of August, delaying the release to early September. Now September is here! How are things going? The good news is: we mostly finished the second dungeon: The Trial of Cryo! This includes all maps, puzzles and encounters! Here some impressions: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/f397683b2c52548e7ff12e266fe89752868c0d18.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/329ddda5fe252b54d204677272ccc1f33b1c5ab5.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/7062e03402294fcb8ffa35180eb0101dc0356074.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/2716e30ca8c90cc1137060be87e95d3d70a5610c.png And all things considered things went pretty fast - especially compared to our first dungeon. However, there is one important part missing: the boss fights. We’ve planned something big and as usual… things took longer than expected. Wrapping everything up will still take us a couple of weeks at least. In addition some content for the swamp is still in development and since we want to avoid placing signs for unfinished content this time around, we want to take a bit more time to finish all these things for real. Given all that, a release in September might be possible. However there’s a another issue: ever since the launch in May, many of us have been working tirelessly without breaks trying to meet the deadlines. And Gamescom, while fun, is still very exhausting. Because of that we’d like to add a little more time so we have the chance to recover before the next release. For that reason, we’d now target late September to October for the release of version 0.2.0. We’re sorry for yet another delay, but this way we can make sure to hopefully deliver a good result without b...

    Somu’s Dream Insights & Preview

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/d5c29268ef706251396dc6a50a0ec1e784ff7ca1.png Hello everyball and everycabbage! Today we would like to take some time to talk about Somu’s Dream, the feedback we gathered, our own observations and what’s to come! General feedback for our little over-designed side quest has been generally positive and we want to thank everyone for playing and giving us feedback so far! When it comes to opinions about the mode we want to make sure to include as many players as possible so even though you might not see us comment on everything, we do read most of it (Especially in our dedicated feedback server on Discord). Now when it comes to issues players have a lot of it seem to boil down to 3 major areas: More Content / Blessings More Bosses / Challenges Damage penalty and grinding tokensLet’s go over each and talk a bit about what we plan to do about this and when these changes will release! Content Some players (correctly) argued that currently each run is rather short and each layer is on the smaller size. This is for a reason however. As you progress through the game Somu will start to offer deeper dives, specifically whenever an area has been “cleared”, that area will then appear within the dream allowing you to go deeper. We have quite a lot of areas planned out so making each layer small is crucial to make getting to deeper layers less tedious. With the next update the swamp area will be included as a new layer which now means to fully complete a dive you must clear 4 layers! We don’t want to spoil the final amount of layers just yet but... there will be a lot. As for blessings, we definitely going to add more! One thing we totally missed out on so far is to simply offer Blessings which turbo charge a particular Enchantment to really allow for some wild builds. So with the next update you will see a lot of new Blessings which are aimed at exactly that. We’d also like to experiment with risk/reward Blessings that have a malus but a larger buff. An ...

Development Update 0.2.0 and Gamescom 2026

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/f2540d33c8120cff911e0a4ef84f6ca0c0eead1f.png Hello everyball and everycabbage! Even as heat ravages our lands, development continues and so must the updates! First of all the recent merch campaign has been successful, thanks to all the supporters of Cheese and Keychain Lea! As for the update on development, we can share progress on the next area (including the dungeon), new weapon abilities and various quality of life features! And also information regarding our attendance at the upcoming Gamescom! Swamp and Dungeon Mapping of the new Swamp Area has been largely wrapped up, so the area is currently filled with enemies to fight and puzzles to solve! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/95afa8e496005af1f28f7b5a0e57608676c16943.png The main focus now lies on the next major dungeon which will include a bunch of new enemies, lots of puzzles and boss fights! Here a small preview: {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/31149ef5ec8e138dec6c9342e296e49d36f55cda.png New Weapons and Combos As for Juno’s arsenal, we extended the combo abilities of the Kama, a late addition in the current Early Access version, and the Spear, which can be obtained in the upcoming version. And Speaking of Kama: Filia is now also pulled with you when moving between kama hooks. Here some work-in-progress footage showing all of this in motion: More Infos for Rogue Powers We got a lot of feedback for Somu’s Dream and we would like to make a separate post to really dive into it on another day but we still want to show at least a little bit. For instance the new context help that was much requested {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/2085a246bdcefb467f0de04a3d80cbc99d66d041.png Any Blessing that requires a bit more context now display an info panel that hopefully helps players understand certain mechanic and aspects better. This will be an ongoing project and we will add more context as needed. Map Markers and more We heard you wanted map markers? Well would you look at that! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891...

SHADE Protocol Kickstarter is now live!

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/8768797/606ab1fcefae44c7d9679bf29415992b49d1f689.png Hello everyball and everycabbage! Recently, we revealed that Alabaster Dawn and CrossCode are part of a collaboration with SHADE Protocol. Today, our friends at SHADE Protocol have launched their Kickstarter campaign! Link to SHADE Protocol Kickstarter SHADE Protocol is a cyber-fantasy Metroidvania with fast combat, music-based weapons, strange abilities, and worlds that can be sliced apart in very concerning ways. The Kickstarter will help the team continue developing the game, support future console porting, and make some of the more ambitious optional collaboration content possible. Some CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn inspired content is already unlocked, including secret bosses and special abilities. Other things, like guest music by our own SHIRAKUMO Nagi, new themed builds, and maybe even CrossCode / Alabaster Dawn inspired DLC content for SHADE Protocol, are possible as stretch goals. Back when we worked on CrossCode, a lot of people helped us by simply talking about the game, sharing it, and giving it a chance. That kind of thing can mean a lot for a small indie team. So if SHADE Protocol looks interesting to you, please check it out or share it with someone who might enjoy fast combat, secrets, and suspiciously sliceable worlds. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3581730/SHADE_Protocol/ That’s all for today! Thanks a lot for your support!

Alabaster Dawn x CrossCode x SHADE Protocol

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138891/606ab1fcefae44c7d9679bf29415992b49d1f689.png Hello everyball and everycabbage! Some days ago, we teased that Alabaster Dawn and CrossCode would be part of a collaboration with another game. Today we can finally reveal what that game is: It is... SHADE Protocol! For those who have not seen it yet, SHADE Protocol is an upcoming cyber-fantasy Metroidvania with fast combat, stylish abilities, and a wild world-cutting mechanic that lets you slice and reshape parts of the environment. What caught our attention is that the team seems to care about many of the same things we do: expressive combat, secrets, ambitious pixel art worlds, and game systems that can get a little bit ridiculous in the best way. So yes... mystery solved! Together, CrossCode, Alabaster Dawn, and SHADE Protocol are planning a crossover collaboration with content in both SHADE Protocol and Alabaster Dawn. And all of it is being planned carefully so it does not interrupt or delay the development of either game. Content in SHADE Protocol In SHADE Protocol, the current collaboration plans include: UNLOCKED: Secret bosses inspired by CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn UNLOCKED: Special CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn themed Harmonies, huge cinematic skills similar to Level 3 Combat Arts from CrossCode Stretch Goal: Guest music by Shirakumo Nagi, composer of CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn! Stretch Goal: New Protocols, essentially game-changing “build” options, that give players more ways to play! Stretch Goal: Potentially a full DLC with a new area, a self-contained storyline, and more! Some of more ambitious plans are locked behind "Stretch Goals" for their upcoming Kickstarter campaign that will launch on June 4 You can check out the Kickstarter campaign and follow it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/littlelegendary/shade-protocol And you can find SHADE Protocol on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3581730/SHADE_Protocol/ Content in Alabaster Dawn It wouldn't be a p...
