About this game
In Canto I, you take control of Dante, the Sommo Poeta, in a small adventure that reimagines the first canto of the
Divine Comedy as a videogame. Finding yourself in the Forest Dark, you’ll need to use all abilities at your disposal to traverse it!
Features
- Spread your wings and overcome every obstacle, bounce on magical books, dash through spike traps and defeat helmet-equipped specters!
- Fun pixelart style that will get a laugh out of you even when you’ll fall into a pit (there are lots of them)
- Rebuild the Canto I — Spread around the four levels, scrolls containing the triplets of Canto I hide. Find them all and read the poem in the menu page!
- Different game modes — play Classic mode for an experience without modifiers, Story mode for a relaxed experience or Hell mode for a real challenge!
How to play
• Movement: Arrow keys or WASD.• Double jump: Up arrow key or W in the air.
• Attack: C, P or Space.
• Dash: X or O.
• Looking down: Hold the down arrow key or S.

Canto I, full Controller Update!
Hiya everyone, LudosGD here! First of all, thanks to everyone who played the game! It means a lot to me and I'm glad so many of you had fun with it. Canto I 1.1 update is out NOW! It focuses on improving controller support, after collecting various feedback. Here are the changes: Fullscreen mode support. Fullscreen is now an option in the options menu. It can also be toggled by pressing F2. Controller support improvement! Fixed various controller-related bugs, such as: Bug preventing controller users to select voices on menus; Bug causing issues with movement and jump inputs after using the joystick. Removed the very unwieldy d-pad and joystick jump input. Move with d-pad or left joystick. Jump with Triangle or Cross (Playstation), A or Y (Xbox), B or X (Nintendo). Attack with Square or Circle (Playstation), X or B (Xbox), A or Y (Nintendo). Dash with L1 or R1. I hope these changes will make your next adventure into the Forest Dark more comfortable!
