Fire Isle challenges you to scorch a tropical paradise as one of four fiery moods. Outwit rising costs and rainstorms while competing online against friends to see whose flames reign supreme.

About this game

Fire Isle is a high-energy, competitive multiplayer game where up to four players wield unique flames to battle for control of a dynamic, ever-changing map. The objective? Dominate the Isle by collecting Wisps, ethereal flames that appear randomly across the map. Be the first to burn their tiles - or risk losing them when they move after a set number of turns. As resources grow scarce and strategies collide, only the most cunning fires will survive!

Challenge yourself to hone your skills solo or take the chaos online with up to 4 players. Box out your rivals, cover the most ground, and collect Wisps until the strongest Fire wins! With fast-paced gameplay and ever-shifting strategies Fire Isle is a must-play for anyone who loves constant scheming & backstabbing against their friends. Should you unite against the winning Fire? Go straight for the Wisp? Or maybe wait until your friend is distracted by it... and then swoop in and block all their fires somewhere else? The choice is yours!

Every tile costs Sparks to ignite, a necessary resource for any wanna-be pyromaniac - after all, it's pretty tricky to light fires without a few Sparks. Once they're lit though, they can provide a good steady supply of Sparks back to you each turn. If Sparks fuel your Fires, then Ashes fuel your ambitions. All Fires eventually burn out and when they do, they leave Ash behind for you to use! With Ashes you can unleash devastating abilities, secure powerful upgrades, or even sabotage your rivals when they least expect it!

Always keep the Isle's terrain in mind, it's as unpredictable as your opponents! Ignite explosive Coal Deposits, erupt Fire launching Volcanoes, and even spend Ashes to burn through Snow, Sand, and Mountains. Adapting your strategy and pivoting to use what's around you as the number of unburned tiles dwindle is key!

These features are still being actively developed and aren't quite ready yet - however - they're going to be a huge part of Fire Isle when it releases!

WISPS

Already mentioned above, Wisps are the key to victory, and claiming them requires both speed and precision.

CLASSES & CARDS

6 RPG-style classes are inbound, each with their own unique abilities and game-shaking upgrades for players to master!

Classes:

  • Storm Caster - Rain focused build

    • This class not only survives, but thrives in the rain!

    • Able to summon rainstorms at will

  • Wisp Fiend – Wisp focused build

    • Lacking more pretentious methods, this class keeps it's eyes on the prize - Wisps

    • Able to outright purchase Wisps for the right price...

  • Trapper – Trap focused build

    • While everyone can place basic traps, this class takes it to a whole other level!

    • Able to annoy your friends to the brink of insanity with a never-ending wave of devastating traps!

  • Traveler - Travel focused build

    • This class traverses across the Isle as freely as possible!

    • Able to lob their Fire short distances to get over enemy lines & and even has a small amount of passive Fire Spread!

  • Thief – Theft focused build

    • Who needs to burn their own fires when you can just steal others?

    • Able to steal enemy fires and make them their own!

  • Warden – Terrain focused build

    • This class thrives in the harsh Sand, Stone, and Snowy terrains that other fires only touch when desperate

    • Spawns with all Terrains already unlocked!

Cards:

Players can pick 1 of 3 Cards that show up periodically between turns, allowing you to craft dynamic game-changing builds!

Most Cards are fairly basic, giving small but stackable buffs to any player who wants them. Golden Cards however are much rarer, but can grant massive upgrades for you and your chosen class!

THE ITEM BOX

Item Boxes can appear between rounds, giving players wildly chaotic advantages:

  • Spark Unlock - removes your Spark Cap for a limited time, letting you unleash your full potential.

  • Cold Front - freezes your rivals’ progress by spiking their tile costs.

  • Flame Umbrella - shields you from the brutal dowsing effects of rain.

  • #1 Extinguisher - singles out your greatest rival, stacking to cripple the leading player's Spark Gain!

  • Ash Pile - temporarily doubles the Ashes you gain when your fires burn out. Used wisely, it can set you up

  • Trap Queen - halves the Ash Cost for placing traps, so you can place tide-turning traps to your heart's content.

  • Lightning in a Bottle - resets your Lightning Cooldown, instantly giving you a fresh new start for your fires elsewhere on the Isle.

    🔥Starting Announcement🔥

🔥QUICK EXPLANATION🔥: I figured I'd start posting stuff on here so that anyone interested or those checking out the page for the first time can see where I'm at. As of right now, pretty much all of the footage and screenshots of the game on here are roughly a year old and the game has changed and improved a lot since then. Making the trailer alone took weeks for me at the time, so it's been hard to commit to making an updated one when I know there's still changes to come that I want featured in it. Because of that, I've left the Steam page itself kind of neglected, so I figured the least I can do is start writing quick updates of where the game is currently at here. I might go ahead and update the showcase screenshots though (even if it means they'll be inconsistent with the trailer footage). 🔥CURRENT GAME STATUS🔥: 🏝️ HUGE art (and performance) improvements have been made in pretty much every aspect of the game since the Steam page was first made. 🎰 The Item Box is in and fully functional (although I haven't thoroughly tested it in a while so might need to double check that). 🌟 Wisps are in and fully functional (again, gonna need some new testing to verify). 🧙 The Class System still needs substantial work. A lot of the coding is done for many of the classes, however the Thief class still needs to be fleshed out significantly and art for all of the class abilities still needs to be made and implemented 🃏 Cards are implemented and functional to a degree - the main intention of the card system is for it to go hand-in-hand with the class system so a lot of the card functionality needs to be tested thoroughly once that's ready. 💯 The "Fiatro" Score System (working title, inspired by another solo dev game if you can believe it) is something I've been working on meant to also tie in with the class system and reward players for good gameplay (haven't even mentioned this in the Upcoming Features section of the page yet). The art and basic code for it is implemented although s...
