About this game

Welcome to the spirit world! You might not remember how you got here, but don’t worry—Alan, the cutest (and grumpiest) poultry-geist, has a plan! In this farm-to-table cooking game help Alan restore a rundown Japanese restaurant, serve delicious meals, harvest fresh crops, and prepare special ingredients to meet all your customers’ needs.

Manage Your Restaurant:

  • Choose the menu that you want to serve each day. Experiment with new recipes and cater to what you think your customers will enjoy the most!

  • Balance your time and quality of each dish to keep your customers happy and earn money for future upgrades!

  • Prepare meals to put on your takeaway tables and meet the needs of customers on the go!

Farm-to-Table Cooking:

  • Water and harvest ingredients from your very own garden! Use these ingredients to create the freshest meals for your ghostly friends.

  • Make sure to take special care of your cows and chickens so that you can have fresh milk and eggs everyday!

  • Play mini-games to prepare certain ingredients for your recipes. Ferment soybeans to make your own soy sauce, dry green tea leaves to create your own matcha powder, and more!

Purchase Items & Upgrades:

  • Make sure to manage your finances so that you have enough funds to make purchases for your shop and yourself. Purchase new plants for your farm, decorations for your bedroom, and more!

  • Spend points to purchase upgrades to restore your shop, add extra elements to your kitchen, and activate other elements that make running your restaurant even easier!

Explore the NPCs:

  • Something has been missing from this restaurant for a long time. Learn about Alan’s history with the restaurant and help him find his missing piece!

  • According to Alan, this restaurant used to have some regulars. When they come into the restaurant, complete their challenge to learn more about the history of your store!

    Smallest Update - v.1.3.1

Hey Little Chefs,We got a couple of small things to update for you all. QoL improvementsGotcha Pods - Now fixed! The rewards should now stay on the bookcase in the bedroom across days. Cycler In Tutorial - During the tutorial, there is a Cycler prompt that pop us as the player works on the miso soup recipe. The player can now access the TAB menu during this time, in case they need to set miso soup as a menu item. (This is still done automatically, adding this change just helps in case something comes up with the menu items)Bugs?Miso Paste - we have heard that there have been issues with the miso paste mini game during the tutorial of the game. Sadly, we haven't been able to replicate this issue and others we have asked haven't been able to replicate the issue. Without being able to replicate or see the problem, it's really hard to track it down. If ANYONE has experienced this issues and is willing to send us a recording of you having this problem (mangoleafgames@gmail.com) that would be INCREDIBLE!! We would love to fix the problem. We hope these updates help you enjoy our game even more! If any of these don't seem fixed to you, or you are experiencing other issues, please keep letting us know!As always, we appreciate you! Kokoro Small Bug Update - v1.2.1

Hey Little Chefs,We heard, thanks to some lovely discord folks, that there were a couple small issues popping up over the last month.QoL improvementsVsync Added - Now, in the setting and options menus, you can either enable or disable Vsync. The game, at base and with Vsync off, should run at 60fps. Enabling Vsync will set the fps to that of your monitor, whether that is above or below 60fps. We hope that this will fix some of the screen tearing issues we heard about. If you have any issues with this, please let us know!Less Upgrade Point Grind - Previously, the XP amount that you would need to earn an upgrade point would increase over time. Now, once you earn a certain amount of upgrade points, the amount of XP needed will remain the same. Hopefully this makes the mid-to-late game a little less grinding and earning higher cost upgrades will be a little easier.Little Buddies Speed - Some have indicated that the little buddies move a bit slow, so we increased their speed. Additionally, we set it so that you can add up to 9 items into their basket. So if you fill them and their basket then this is basically 4 trips for the little buddies. That's so much time saved with the garden!Bugs and fixesEnd of Day: Meals in Oven - If you had a meal cooking in the oven when the day ended, it seemed to be getting stuck there. Now, the contents of the oven resets at the end of the day so this shouldn't be a problem any more.End of Day: Watering Can in Hand - If you happened to be holding the watering can while the day ended, this would cause the watering can to disappear from the garden. Now, the watering can should be reset correctly.Serving Customer Patience - There was a weird, perfect timing bug that would happen if you served a customer right when their patience had ended. This should be fixed now! A little difficult to test since it involves such precise timing, so if anyone notices this bug again please let us know!We hope these updates help you enjoy our game even more! If...

    Kokoro Tutorial Update - v1.2.0

Hey Little Chefs,We hear some rumblings that our tutorial was a bit buggy. While we couldn't find any bugs, we recognized that it could get a little confusing. So, we added some UI to hopefully make it, and some other elements of the game, more clear. Please let us know if this helped or if there is anything else we are missing!Tutorial UpdatesChecklist UI - Added a checklist for the important steps during the tutorial! (All localized by the amazing team over at LocQuest, they did it so fast!) Now, you should have a reference of what step in next if your not able to progress or have some trouble knowing what to do next. This is just a part of the tutorial, so this does not include following Alan through the rooms, and you won't see them if you skip the tutorial.Changed "Skip Tutorial" Question - We changed the wording for the Skip Tutorial question, now you don't have to think about a double negative! It just askes "Start the Tutorial?" and you can say yes or no, skip.Alan Eating Animation - We added an animation to Alan so that you can know he's eating and enjoying your meals once they are served.QoL improvementsRecipe Menu UI - Added a reminder at the start of Day 1 AND a permanent UI indicator of the button to press to access this menu in the upper right corner.Prep Ingredient UI - Added some UI to the lower left corner to indicate which prep ingredients you've make and to indicate that, once the mini-game is done once, these ingredients are infinitely avaliable.Button Inidicator UI - Added a indicator to the bottom right corner whenever you are able to interact with something. It shows you the interaction button, mix button, and more.Bugs and fixesSoy Sauce Mini-Game - There were issues with the timers and the UI disapearing randomly. We got this fixed and it should be working as intended now!We are a little embarrassed that we didn't think of the tutorial checklist before! Such a staple in a lot of games, and it is definitely helpful to have the steps written o...

    Bigger Kokoro Update - v1.1.0

Hey Little Chefs,A little bit of optimization, small updates, and a little expansion on the tutorial in this update. OptimizationUpdated boing bones, characters had more than they neededUpdated Setting/Pause menu - time stop seemed to be causeing some problems. Time still stops everywhere that is necessary but it shouldn't spike the game now. (you may see some things still moving like Alan hopping, smoke coming out of the cooking stations - but be assured that time is actually not moving if you are in this menu) Tutorial UpdatesAdded a force to use TAB button (or controller version) to open the menuAdded Miso soup to tutorial to help teach about the preparation stations and how prep ingredients workQoL improvementsUpdated to tutorial! - added a force to use TAB button (or controller version) to open the menu.
