Road Map: Three New Game Modes Coming to Space Tourist!
Since launch, Space Tourist has been about wonder — flying across the stars, landing on mysterious worlds, planting flags, and capturing the beauty of the unknown. I'm excited to officially announce that three new game modes are coming to Space Tourist — each offering a fresh way to play, with unique objectives and flavour, all while staying true to the game’s relaxed, immersive spirit. The RoadmapThe Tourist (Available Now)This is the original Space Tourist experience. No pressure, no goals — just pure exploration. Fly. Land. Wander. Photograph. Reflect. Coming Next: The Cartographer“You’ve been everywhere. Now it’s time to leave your mark.”In this new mode, you’ll become a planetary surveyor. Your mission? Complete exploration contracts — this mode gives purpose to your wanderings — and turns your journal into a badge of honour.Release window: Later this year. In Development: The Investigator“Something’s out there. Follow the trail.”A strange echo has been detected — a low, pulsing signal that seems to ripple across the galaxy. No one knows what’s generating it, or why it’s moving. But one thing’s certain: it’s leaving a trail. In this narrative-driven mode, you’ll follow a breadcrumb trail of distant coordinates, tracking the echo across carefully selected systems. Each stop offers a clue — a moment — a piece of the puzzle.Your journey might uncover:Abandoned research postsMysterious planetary eventsLost messages and encoded dataOr something far older than you expected…This is a slower, more meditative mode — perfect for explorers who want mystery over mechanics, and wonder over weapons.More details coming soon. In Development: The Survivor“Low fuel. No backup. Get home or die trying.”The galaxy isn’t always gentle. In The Survivor, you’ll start with a damaged spacesuit and limited fuel. To survive, you’ll need to land on dangerous planets, scavenge rare fuel deposits, and manage each jump carefully as you limp toward your home system. This is a resource-light, ris...Read full article on Community Announcements (Grow Now!)AnnouncementsOfficial

Patch Notes 20.05.25
Key Fixes & Improvements: Smoother UI Interactions: The Pause Menu (ESC) now correctly takes precedence. If your Journal or Solar System Map view is open, opening the Pause Menu will now seamlessly close these other views first. Similarly, the Journal ('J') will no longer open if the Pause Menu or the Solar System Map View ('TAB') is already active, preventing UI clashes. The Solar System Map View ('TAB') will now automatically close an open Journal before activating, ensuring a clear view. Fixed an issue where the Pause Menu could shrink to a tiny size when opened. This was related to game pausing (Time.timeScale) affecting UI animators; relevant animators have been updated to use unscaled time. The mouse cursor will now correctly hide when the Solar System Map View ('TAB') is active. It will also consistently become visible when UI panels like the "Update Info" screen are closed, ensuring you can always interact with underlying menus. Player Control Consistency: Resolved a bizarre bug where player movement could remain locked every other time after opening and closing the Solar System Map View. Player movement lock state is now managed more consistently across all UI interactions (Journal, Map View, Pause Menu). When teleporting to a bookmarked system via the Journal, the player will now have its movement speed set to zero upon arrival for safer and more predictable fast travel. Journal Enhancements: The Journal ('J') will now correctly display only bookmarked solar systems that belong to your current galaxy seed. No more seeing old bookmarks from previous voyages in your current log! Fixed issues with the Journal's scrollable list where buttons might overlap or not display correctly. The layout should now be much more reliable. Bookmark Feature Refinements: The key to bookmark a system is now 'B' (previously 'U'). When a system is bookmarked (or if it's already bookmarked), a confirmation message (" BOOKMARKED" or " ALREADY BOOKMARKED") will now briefly appear on...Read full article on Community Announcements (Grow Now!)Patch NotesOfficial
Captain’s Log Update
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45121460/c5eae538c08b65d3714be024b99edeac462c34f4.png I'm thrilled to announce the launch of the Captain's Log Update – a set of new tools designed to help you master the vastness of space and keep track of your favourite locations. What's New? Bookmark Your Universe (Press 'B' in a System): Stumbled upon a breathtaking solar system? A place that feels like home? Press 'B' while you're within a solar system to add its coordinates and name to your Captain's Log. Your Personal Captain's Journal (Press 'J'): The galaxy is vast, but your memory doesn't have to be! The new in-game Journal allows you to keep a running list of your most important system discoveries. Instantaneous Return Jumps: Open your Journal ('J'), select a previously bookmarked system from your scrollable list, and with a single click, you'll be instantly transported to the outskirts of that system, perfectly positioned and facing the star. Your movement will be set to zero upon arrival, giving you full control. In-Game Update Notes: I've added a handy "What's New?" panel accessible from the main interface so you can always catch up on the latest features. Fixes & Polish: Fixed an issue where player movement could get stuck in a locked state after repeatedly opening and closing UI panels. Player controls should now be much more consistent. Improved UI panel interactions for a smoother experience. Chart it, mark it, and navigate it with ease. Thanks for playing! Grow Now!Read full article on Community Announcements (Grow Now!)
