Devlog 9: Something stinks…
Strange creatures lurk in the distance: The Swamp. If you've played our demo (if not, check it out), you will have noticed that there's distant land that seems to be unreachable. A foul smell emanates from green pools of a strange liquid. Strange creatures, touched by years of abuse from the Sapiens and nasty substances, watch you from afar. The swamp stares at you, tempting you to try its' grounds - Just not yet! This upcoming area, available with the full release of Rebel Roar, is the home of many beings; some friendly, and some not so much.Biohazardous waste? Radioactive materials? Psychotropic substances? The swamp's got it all, and the effects of having exploited this land to the brink of inhabitability can be seen not only on the landscape around you, but also the creatures that have chosen (or have been forced) to remain there. The ColdbloodedIf you think Maulers and Slashers have gone through some rough times since the Sapien occupation, you have not heard of the Coldblooded. Despite their name, they are the most downtrodden set of Rebels that Animalek has spit out. You've already read about Renard, a small frog that grew up, and learned to navigate the swamp's hostile environment by relying on the one thing the all swamp-dwellers have left: community. These fighters rely on what they've learned to take advantage in battle: Expose your enemies to the toxins they themselves have created, regenerate limbs, and even call allies from the bottom of the barrel to defeat the Sapiens.See you next week.We hope you'll take the Coldblooded for a spin once you join the Rebellion. Who knows, if you've picked the Hacker class you might have interacted with one of them already. Once again, we'd like to thank everyone currently playing our demo, and giving us really valuable feedback both on our discord server and our subreddit.See you next week!Read full article on Community Announcements (Tomate)AnnouncementsOfficial
Devlog 8: Demo is out! Devlogs are back!
2026 has been a blur, but its time we came back to tell you about everything that has happened in the last 9 months, what's happening right now, and most importantly, what's to come! As we inch closer and closer to the launch of years of work, we've hit an important milestone (as you might have noticed, oops): Our demo is out!We want to thank every single one of you who supported us by play-testing Rebel Roar, as your feedback was (and still is) key to get our game to this point. Now that our demo is out there, we hope you can see the ways in which the game has changed, in our opinion, for the better! If you haven't tried it yet, we encourage you to check it out. We think it's pretty beefy content wise, as it contains:4 different regions/areas to play through.3 bosses to defeat.6 different rebels to unlock and play with (you get to play with TWO at the same time, if you live long enough to rescue a second rebel).A myriad of different enemies, elite encounters, and customization options that will give you a taste of what the full experience is like. We're still gathering feedback that will help us further refine and tune the game, so we'd really appreciate it if you gave our demo a shot. As you know, we have a Discord server where we often discuss what we're working on, and we get to talk directly to players about changes that we're making, but we've also started a new place to gather our rebels, our very own…Rebel Roar Subreddit! We've been trying out some new options for connecting with our community, and we think a subreddit will be a really cool way to keep in touch with you all, but also reach new players who might be interested in checking our game out! If you're a Redditor, join our subreddit now! What comes next? We're focused on two fronts right now. Firstly, our dev team is full steam ahead on the development of what's to come, including new rebels, new enemies, the rest of our fighting-style animal decks (you might get to see one of them on the next devlog 👀), ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Tomate)AnnouncementsOfficial

Meet the Rebels: Renard
Renard is a small frog who lives in the swamps outside Sapien City. Life has never been easy there: waters covered in pollution, heavy air, and soil poisoned by the waste of the walled city. But unlike other places on the planet, the swamp still held on to something: community.Since childhood, Renard shared life with Artemisia, a clever turtle who lived in the hut next door. Together they grew up playing games, imagining battles, and dreaming of the future. Over time, however, their paths began to drift apart.Renard dreamed of escape. They treasured an old, stained flyer found in the mud: El Sapo Morton, Live in Concert. To them, that paper was a window to another life. If Morton had made it out of the swamp and shone in the big city, then it was possible. Renard swore that, with effort and sacrifice, they too would one day reach Sapien City, show their talent, and live a better life.Artemisia, on the other hand, never cared for the city. For her, what mattered was the urgency at home. Her brilliant mind turned discarded Sapien technology into inventions that helped the entire swamp: she built a communal water purifier, designed special goggles so Renard could fish through the murky waters, and worked on a solar generator that would free their people from Sapien energy and its immoral prices.Years went by. Renard worked tirelessly, fishing and selling what little they could, until finally saving enough to buy a Sapien passport from a vending machine at the city gates. The excitement was indescribable: at last, the dream would come true. But life in Sapien City was nothing like Renard imagined. There were no stages or opportunities, only miserable jobs, discrimination, and ridicule. To the city’s inhabitants, Renard would always be a “swamper.” Every attempt to fit in ended in failure, and it soon became clear there was no place for someone like them.On the brink of misery, Renard found work in a run-down bar, waiting tables. It was there that the defining moment arri...Read full article on Community Announcements (Brukoslav)AnnouncementsOfficial
Meet the Rebels: Quincy
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45137616/2684ef11d87e44014b309b6b0cb387618392ffc5.png In the serene embrace of the Evergreen Hills, Quincy the opossum found peace and contentment. These lush, rolling landscapes stood as a refuge on Animalek, untouched by the destructive reach of the Sapiens. Amidst this tranquility, Quincy built a life filled with quiet joy alongside her partner. Together, they decided to start a family, blessed with seven beautiful babies who thrived in their idyllic haven. Yet, as tranquility so often does in a world under threat, it proved fleeting. The Sapiens, relentless in their pursuit of power and resources, set their sights on the Evergreen Hills. A scientific facility for meteorological experiments sprung up, transforming the vibrant hills into a frigid wasteland within months. The climate became harsh and unforgiving, a shadow of its former self. Quincy’s partner, driven by love and determination, confronted the Sapiens to reclaim their home but vanished without a trace, leaving Quincy alone to face an escalating nightmare. The extreme cold claimed her babies one by one, tearing at her heart with every loss. Desperation spurred Quincy to flee, clutching her last surviving offspring as she ventured into the freezing unknown. But as the snowstorm raged around them, hope dwindled. Exhausted and out of options, Quincy succumbed to the bitter cold, collapsing in the snow. Awakening in a dark room, Quincy finds herself alone, her child nowhere in sight. Confusion and fear grip her as she realizes that her struggle, far from over, has only just begun. Driven by the profound loss of her family, Quincy embarks on a journey to find answers and reclaim her life amidst the encroaching darkness.Read full article on Community Announcements (Jack Lalanne's Power User)
