About this game

Embark on a quest to cure a plague that is bringing the land of Hajimari to its knees. Explore the land and uncover its many secrets while meeting the last of its inhabitants. Will you help Hajimari thrive, or doom it to wither away?
STORY
The four nations of Hajimari have been struck with a plague that has put the entire island in peril. All plant life has slowly started to die away, causing conflict between the Grizz, Faerials, Komurans, and Haji. Many people have lost their lives not only to the plague, but wars between the nations as well. The islanders tried praying to the gods they worship, but received no answer. Many have given up, and many say the gods are dead.
All seemed hopeless, but sometimes hope can come from the most unsuspecting of spirits.
Tamiko and her brother Kenshin reside in the village of Komura on the southwest side of Hajimari. They've witnessed their family and friends die from the plague and other islanders which has compelled them to find the source of the plague and destroy it. They will meet friends and enemies alike on their journey, including the highly intelligent Locke, the child prodigy thief Avadel, the banished maniac Drago, and the powerful grandma Zeniba.

Reverted last update due to launch issue
Something went wrong with the latest update which prevented players from launching the game. I am looking into it at the moment, but until it is fixed I have reverted the patch. Thankfully, no content is lost as a result of this. All that is missing is the DPI and scaling fixes. If you want a more technical explanation, it seems that something changed with the game to make it load the index.html file from the wrong location. I'm investigating what that change is right now. For whatever reason, it did not effect the web version whatsoever. I'll post another update when it is fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.Read full article on Community Announcements (After Midnight Games)Patch NotesOfficial

Version 1.1.0 Patch Notes
It's been nearly a year since God's Disdain launched. It has progressed to the point that I feel it is finally deserving of that second decimal place going up!Included in this are some bug fixes, but most notably also some new features:Warriors can now use a Taunt skill to draw enemy aggression towards them. Warriors have high HP and can now use it to provide help to the rest of the party.Rogues can now use a Steal skill to nab items off enemies without having to defeat them. Defeating enemies doesn't always result in drops, so this is a great way to get extra items. If you have a Rogue in your party, you can now escape from most battles. Before, you could only escape from random battles on the overworld. Now, you can run around a dungeon stealing items from enemies and then safely retreating. The desktop version of God's Disdain now also has the ability to export and import saves, so you can freely move saves between the desktop and web versions. You could always access the save files on the desktop version, but this will export a save in the web-friendly format for Newgrounds and Itch.io. Just remember that browser saves are somewhat volatile, so make sure to export your save slot before leaving the page.I would love to hear feedback on how all of these features work. Let me know your thoughts!Full patch notes:Added import/export to desktop version to enable cross save between web and desktop. Accessible in the Options menu.Added the Taunt skill which lets Warriors draw the aggression of enemies.*Added the Steal skill which lets Rogues steal items from enemies.*It is now possible to escape from most normal encounters if you have a Rogue in the party.Added notifications for Dokutsu Caverns 2 and the Gilskov Range to tell players they might be too low level for the area.Added dialogue to Chinatsu to help guide the player after finishing her quest.Changed boulder behavior in Dokutsu Caverns to prevent softlocks and annoyances.Fixed the moonwalking enemy in Dokutsu Cave...Read full article on Community Announcements (After Midnight Games)
