Embark on solo patrols or team up in Security Simulator: Nightshift, where you must navigate through eerie nightshifts, using cameras to detect intruders while balancing the need for rest.

About this game

Security Simulator: Nightshift is a game in the "spot-the-difference"-horror sort of mold. You use a camera system to spot "disturbances" throughout the map you're on, and report them. This game's twist is that you're in the building with the disturbances, and you can't just cozy up in your office. Your goal is to keep these disturbances at bay by reporting them. As a security guard, you also have to keep an eye on the entrances to the place you're guarding. Let a picked lock or suspicious ladder go unnoticed and you may have extra visitors. Thieves can break in throughout the night if an entrance is vulnerable, you'll have to report them too before heading over and arresting. Too many disturbances, or getting caught too close to one, may lead to a short night and not much pay. Manage everything for your whole 9-5 (PM to AM) and you'll make it out with plenty to spend. Next to the security building is a store that you can buy items from. These items help you in various ways, from flashlights that improve visibility, to snacks that give you a stamina boost! This game contains mild psychological horror, requiring the player to pay close attention to several systems, having some disturbances lock the door, and some with very humanoid appearance.

    We're leaving Early Access!

Hey Guards,The journey to 1.0 has been long, but I'm very happy to tell you that it's come to an end. Work on the game will not stop, but I've gotten it to a point that I am happy releasing. I'm excited for what the future holds, and look forward to everyone getting to experience 1.0!Changes:This list will not be exhaustive, I simply could not keep track of every change made during the months of development. All maps have had a redesign, keeping the general layout but improving the attention to detail and optimizing things.Breaker - Don't have too many lights on.There's a new tutorial which goes over all the gameplay mechanics you'll need to know.So many improvements to disturbances, reporting, and report responses.Time moves quite a bit quicker now, you'll have to be on top of things to make it through the night!Removed the different "modes" of Contracts, they all play the same now, with disturbances, thieves, and enemies you'll have to keep on top of!Added contract difficulty, plans to allow selecting difficulty of contracts in the near future.Future Plans:I mentioned that I do not intend to entirely halt development on Security Simulator: Nightshift, and I'll use this section to explain what my plans are. While there are plans for more maps to finish the game's story, I want to build up modding and contract creation tools to let the community create their own maps, enemies, disturbances, items, and more. The next phase of development will focus on building up the support and tooling for these kinds of community additions through the workshop.I'm really excited to be releasing this after so long in development, and I hope you all enjoy Security Simulator: Nightshift!

    Winter Update

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45069575/158f26f778a90519f37b4932b30777652bacef77.png New Contract: Warehouse & Office Located in the same lot as the Small Warehouse, this new contract has you securing two buildings in Hunt Mode. Make sure to keep an eye on entrances, and don't let the new enemies take you out! Improvements * Cameras now have a noise sensor. In hunt mode, if something is preparing to manifest and makes a noise; the closest camera's noise sensor will go off, giving you and idea of where to search for EMF. * You have a watch now! Hitting your inventory key will now no longer pull up the inventory as a static UI overlay, but instead have you pull up your watch. This tells you the time, has a list of camera audio sensors, and tells you your current anxiety level. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45069575/c8da5923f85e5be6f7652d7b0f6e261bff5af60a.png * I've really made an effort to fix the ability to drop items through walls. You shouldn't be able to do it anymore, I hope you can't do it anymore. * Added a tutorial! Finally managed to square off some time to work on two tutorial maps, and they're ready in time for this update. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45069575/462fff7383f74645af3630167a058bd5e46f5752.png Here's hoping they'll help alleviate any confusion! * The contract results screen has had a total overhaul. That old one was incredibly bland looking and I hope I've managed to properly spice it up. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45069575/3831794861352b1c1ded80182579c57189955b5b.png All-in-all I hope this update fixes issues with the game, and ups its presentation. Hope you enjoy the new contract and here's to a new year of development!

    Halloween Hunt Update

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45069575/a4b27e3728bbccb45ec0397e6481853e8a646400.png Halloween Hunt! This update took a while and I hope it was worth the wait! This update adds the Gas Station, a new contract taking place at a roadside convenience store and gas station. This contract plays differently though, as the Gas Station premiers the new Hunt Mode. Hunt Mode In Hunt Mode the player finds themselves tracking down entities to try and prevent their manifestation. Failing that, a holy-water-filled spray bottle can be employed to send these malevolent spirits back to where they came from. Each time you're attacked by an entity you'll gain some anxiety, and at 100% will call off the night and fail the contract. EMF Reader Holding the EMF Reader will let you track down where things may soon try to appear, reading an EMF Level 5 means you've found the spot and should drop a crucifix. Crucifix Drop it at the spot of a potential manifestation and, assuming you're in the right spot, it will glow. After a time, it will crackle and the glow will fade. This is the signal that you have prevented the manifestation and are safe to retrieve the crucifix. Spray Bottle This is a spray bottle filled with holy water. It can be used three times before needing to be refilled. Spraying entities will damage them and once they've been sufficiently damaged they will leave. Pumpkin Head {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45069575/a960b7052790a2686b01413749eb7dbb0bf56ed4.png Pumpkin Head are rather hostile and fast. They always know where you are and their attack gives plenty of anxiety. They also take three sprays of holy water, so make sure to keep your bottle topped up! Mannequins {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45069575/208bfe811db963a8946e84f5824ccf69d22d3e43.png These enemies were downright obligatory. Mannequins move very quickly but only when you can't see them. They're rather shy and won't even show you their face. They only take one spray but deal a fair amount of anxiety if they catch you in the plastic arms. Flying T...

    BugFix before new maps!

Hello again! We've been hard at work on new things, but in the meantime we want to send out a good 'ol bugfix update. There were some issues that needed fixed and so here's the changelog! Added: + First-person player model + Unstuck button, returns player to their office no questions asked. + Flashlight cookie, looks less flat now + Ambiance! Changed: * New flashlight models * New door prefabs, they have handles now! Fixed: * Having a report going when a contract ends no longer locks the game in an endless reporting state. * Performance. I could go on about this one, but long story short the game should run considerably better now. * Rendering issues! Previously, for compatibility, we offered the ability to force the game to use OpenGL. This was a mistake. OpenGL had heaps of rendering issues, and while they're mostly fixed we also have the option of offering DirectX12 instead, which is what we'll be doing. * The options screen now has descriptions for most options, giving the user a better description of what they're changing * Fixed some bugs in the resolution selector, letting it select all available resolutions instead of just some of them
