    System Spotlight: Pets

Hello, Solo-raiders! 👋 Welcome back to our System Spotlight! This one is for those of you who want a few more friends around while you're out adventuring: We're working on a Pet System! And before you ask, no, we’re not talking about the wolf you transform into when you sprint. At least, not yet…Instead, you'll have a variety of different pets to choose from, each bringing their own unique set of passives into battle. Your pet can actively help you during combat, with abilities ranging from healing and support to passive auras and crowd control. We're still working on the system and the different options you'll have available, but we're excited to give you another way to customize your adventures and, more importantly, have a friend around while you're committing violence against the local wildlife. The PetsWhen it comes to the pets themselves, their main differences will be their appearance and substats. Each pet will have its own substat that gives you a small bonus. For example, a Turtle might increase your healing by 10%, while a Spider could reduce your pet skill cooldowns by 8%. Pets will work like items, meaning you can naturally find them as drops from raids. However, we don't want you to be stuck without a pet just because you haven't found a rare one yet, so you'll always have access to a basic pet that lets you use the Pet System and its skills. As you find higher-level pets, their substats will become stronger as well. Our goal is for pets to feel different enough to be interesting while still letting you pick your favorite without worrying about losing too much efficiency. If you really like the Turtle, Spider, or whatever other little creature you find, you should be able to bring it along because you like it and it fits your playstyle, not because it's the “best” choice. Pick the little guy you like, bring them along, and let them help you commit some crimes against the local monsters. And no, you can't pet the pets, but you can pet the animal spirits, w...

    Hero's Path Primalist

Hello, Solo-raiders! 👋Welcome back to Hero’s Path, where we take a deeper look at one of the game's specializations and break down what makes them tick. We've talked about the Assassin, and today we’ll be talking about the one spec a portion of you were craving the most: the Primalist. The Primalist is a specialization built around elemental power and, most importantly, Totems. You have your own abilities to deal damage and actively fight your enemies, but the real heart of the Primalist is setting up Totems that continuously deal damage over time. Instead of relying entirely on your own attacks, you're creating a little network of elemental destruction around the battlefield and letting it do the work alongside you.To place your Totems, you'll enter Totem Placer mode, choose the Totem you want to deploy, and then jump straight back into the fight to keep dealing damage with your own abilities. The idea is to constantly balance your personal damage with your Totems, making sure they're correctly buffing each other so they'll have the biggest impact while you continue dashing around and beating the crap out of your enemies. So, basically, this is a class for all the micromanagers out there.TotemsThe most important part of the Primalist is, of course, the Totems. You can choose from Totems tied to different elements: Fire, Water, Air, and Lightning. Each one brings its own effects and purpose to your build. Totems have their own lifetime, which means you’ll need to pay attention to when they’ll expire, on top of managing your cooldowns. So, in the midst of battle, you need to worry about your health and cooldowns and your totems, on top of the enemy's health and mechanics. Hope you have good situational awareness!Totems aren't necessarily independent sources of damage either, some can buff other Totems or even your own abilities, allowing you to create combinations that adapt to how you want to play and what you prioritize. Also, not every Totem is focused on attacking...

    Tavern Talk (09/09/2026)

Hello, Solo-raiders! 👋As most of you have probably already seen, we've partnered with Arc Games! And we're incredibly excited about it. Arc Games brings a lot of experience working on games like ours, and we're looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together. Also, remember when we talked about the Assassin spec? We recently did a video about it, check it out! And with that out of the way…Loot Rework One of the things we've been thinking about for a while is loot. More specifically, we've been looking at how gear progression currently works, and we're not 100% satisfied with where it is right now. The current system makes it very easy to focus almost entirely on power: you find a piece with better numbers, equip it, and eventually, anything above Heirloom rarity can roll an amplification of its modifiers. Once you get that perfect piece, there isn't much reason to keep farming because you've essentially reached the best possible version of that gear. This is important to us because we don't want the loot system to be a simple race toward one specific item, or an endless hunt for increasingly ridiculous versions of the same piece. Instead, we want to give you more reasons to make choices. We're currently experimenting with a couple of ideas to make the gear system more exciting, with the goal of giving you guys more freedom in how you approach the game. Your specialization and playstyle should matter, but we also want the gear you find to influence those choices and let you take a ridiculous idea and actually make it work because of the items you've managed to put together.Building Around Your GearOne of the biggest goals of this rework is to make gear build-enabling. We want certain combinations of stats, bonuses, or other effects to push you toward completely different builds than what you originally had in mind. Maybe you find an item that makes you think, maybe there’s a more optimized, or even better, a more enjoyable way of playing this. We're aiming fo...

Sil and the Fading World Partners with Arc Games

We’re excited to share a new step in the development of Sil and the Fading World: we have partnered with Arc Games as our publisher! As a publisher, Arc Games has worked on titles including Star Trek Online, Neverwinter, and Remnant II. Having their support is a huge benefit, as they can handle marketing and publishing with their vast experience. In turn, this allows us to focus more on development, like creating new ways for you to make incredible builds and designing challenging new raid bosses. One of IceCrack Games’ co-founders, Bardh “Ice” Dervishaj, said about the partnership, “As a small independent team, we’ve poured our passion for RPGs, theorycrafting, and challenging raid encounters into Sil and the Fading World. Partnering with Arc Games is an incredible milestone for us. We’re excited to have a partner who believes in what we’re building and can help us bring the game to even more players.” It’s been really fun seeing what you’ve already been creating with the tools available in the demo, and we’re looking forward to seeing how that changes as we add more options to the game. Keep an eye out here for more news, and join our official Discord to chat with your fellow players and follow along with development. Thanks for the support and see you in the next one!

    Raid Prep (02/09/2026)

RAIDERS WANTEDMining crews operating along the north of The Pathways have reported the discovery of ancient ruins buried deep within the cave systems. The structures were first uncovered during routine excavation for materials. While the ruins appeared unstable, workers were able to reinforce several sections and ensure the surrounding tunnels remained safe for continued operations. However, after scouts discovered a way to open the final sealed area, a burst of corrupted energy erupted from within the chamber. Numerous skeletons of ancient warriors have been observed roaming the ruins since, picking up their rusted swords or using magic stained with corruption to attack anyone who comes within range. Stone golems have also been observed. In the deepest chamber, a gigantic golem appears to be guarding something. Unfortunately, scouts were unable to determine anything about that room, except that there were four pillars, each overflowing with strange magical energy.Proceed with caution.Hello, Solo-raiders! 👋Welcome to our first Raid Prep! For Raid Prep, we’re taking a closer look at one of the raids you’ll be able to tackle in the game, and for today we’ll talk about something that ISN’T available for you yet: The Dunevault. The Dunevault starts deep underground, with you making your way through a network of caverns and tunnels. At first, it might look like another forgotten cave system, but as you make your way through the caves, you'll start encountering the skeletal warriors who once protected this place, and have now been called once again to continue their duties. The corruption has also taken hold of the stone itself, animating ancient rocks and forming them into Stone Golems who patrol the tunnels alongside the reanimated warriors, making navigating the caves a much more dangerous proposition than it first appears.Eventually, you'll make your way out of the caves and into the real heart of the raid: An ancient vault, long forgotten and buried beneath the earth.T...
