Discover the mysteries of a Slavic-inspired fantasy realm in Tea for Sana, where you play as Vesna, a spirit healer on a journey to regain her memories through exploration and cooking.
About this game
Tea for Sana is a game about observing your surroundings and interpreting narrative clues to solve the mysteries of the mountain. You play as Vesna, a healer who is losing her memory. You'll need to remember your recipes, cook for people in distress, and explore old ruins to heal yourself and ascend to the role of a spirit healer.
Help Sana
Sana, an old friend, is hiding her eyes. To find out what's troubling her, you'll need to make her favourite tea. As you seek out the right recipe and ingredients, you'll unlock new ways to restore balance between the mountain spirits and the people who live among them.
Remember your recipes
In your hands, cooking has the power to heal and shed light on a person's internal landscape. You can trigger memories of your most potent recipes by exploring the environment.
Gather the right ingredients
The mountain is full of plants, flowers, and herbs you can use for cooking. If you look closely, you're sure to find some less conventional ingredients.
Heal with cooking
Cook a mix of traditional Slavic dishes, drinks from distant lands, and a few strange concoctions to heal the physical and spiritual ailments of the people you meet.
Ascend to your new role
As a budding spirit healer, you have a unique insight into the mischievous beings who dwell in the mountain. Spirits feed on the thoughts of living beings to shape the physical world. You'll learn how to tame them and help people whose thoughts have transformed their reality.
Don't lose hope
Over time you'll unravel a story about healing, overcoming grief, and starting over in a new land. There is darkness on the path, but stay strong. Every bit of progress brings you closer to healing yourself and helping Sana find peace.

Some bug fixes and a thank you
Hi! Just a quick update for whoever may be following along: I got a detailed (and very kind!) bug report recently from a player who was trying to play through the game a second time. The fixes are live now, so here's what changed. An issue that was preventing the Bone Marble item from being used is now resolved, so you can give it to the, um, recipient as usual.Catchable spirits were not always reset/respawned properly when starting a new game, making them uncatchable on a second playthrough. This would only have affected some players, but it's fixed now, so everyone should be able to replay the game with a clean slate.Cleaned up a few small things, like a typo and a sprite not displaying correctly.I've been quiet on social media but still keeping an eye on the game, so anyone else who catches something buggy can feel free to post in the Steam discussions or send me a message. I really appreciate the reports, because they let me smooth out the experience for any future players.I'm also very touched by the thoughtful, heartfelt reviews and comments many of you have left in the months since launch. It means a lot that others have been able to connect with the story and get immersed in the game.THANK YOU!Read full article on Community Announcements (Pillow Soup)AnnouncementsOfficial
A note on Steam Deck compatibility (updated)
5.12.2025 Update: Oops, turns out I was wrong about the Steam Deck verification requirements. I seem to meet them now, but developers can't "apply" or press a button to have their game verified. The process needs to be initiated by Steam. Since this is a small game with a small (but lovely!) audience, I don't think verification is in the cards for Tea for Sana — at least not for a while. But it's all good, because the game still runs just fine on Steam Deck as described below. I'm always keeping an eye on the discussions to see if anyone has issues, so feel free to make a post if you need help. Cheers! Original post on 14.11.2025:Hello hello! Just a small update to let everyone know that Tea for Sana is playable on Steam Deck, but it will not have the Steam Deck Verified badge at launch. What does this mean? The badge comes with certain requirements that can improve playability on the Deck, but they don't really apply to this game. For instance, there's one requirement that says the game should pause when the Steam overlay is open — but because Tea for Sana doesn't have combat, passing time, or any real penalty for leaving the game "unpaused", I didn't add this in.These are mostly small changes, so I'll still work towards them after launch, but I wanted to focus on the essentials before release. For now, I and several playtesters have tested the game on Steam Deck, and it runs just fine!Note that if you're playing on Steam Deck with a wireless controller: you may need to choose a setting called Disable Steam Inputs to make the controller work. This appears to be a quirk of Steam in certain cases, for certain games. My playtesters did not report having to do this, but I just wanted to make a note in case anyone has issues.I'm writing this about 15 minutes before release (woohoo!), so I'll be keeping an eye out for any feedback you guys have, technical or otherwise. It's my first solo game, so everything helps! Thanks and see you on the other side of launch! PS- Pepper i...Read full article on Community Announcements (Pillow Soup)Patch NotesOfficial
A late-game update
This update is long overdue! I'm working on Tea for Sana solo — with the external support of a super talented composer and capsule artist — and this stretch of quiet time has all been spent working on the game. Ongoing updates take time away from design, pixel art, writing, and programming, and I wanted to focus on making as much progress as possible. With that, I'm happy to say the game will launch in mid-November! I'll set a proper release date soon, but I just wanted to let anyone who's wondering know that I'm still alive and things are progressing smoothly. The composer and sound designer, Laura Herceg, has finished the original soundtrack and sound effects for the game, including a special vocal track for the credits. The capsule artist, Luka Rudan, has created a more colourful, visually poppy set of assets for the Steam page — he also made all the cross-stitch-style cutscene art that appears in the game's introduction and ending scenes. Meanwhile, playtesters have been hard at work catching bugs and making suggestions that are helping me polish up the game for release. This is my first solo game, and while it's the most fun I've ever had working on a project, it's also a constant learning experience. Feedback really helps me in the process. As I get ready to make more frequent updates, I'd like to know if anyone has questions about the game that I can answer in the weeks leading up to release. Curious about the story inspiration? How the game is made? What it's like to play? Feel free to let me know here or on Instagram or Discord. That's all for now. Thanks to everyone who's expressed interest in the game, left feedback on the demo, wishlisted — everything helps and I sincerely appreciate it.Time for a cup of tea and a sweet snack.
