    Update 1.4.2501

Update 1.4.2501 This update includes tons of enhancements to energy weapons, as well as a broad set of improvements and fixes based on your feedback. Thank you to everyone that shared your thoughts with us! We look forward to hearing what you think about these changes. AI Decreased how much enemies prioritize their initial target. Increased how much enemies prioritize potential targets that recently caused damage. This change will make it easier to manage mixed groups of enemies. For example, now players can drag creature patrols onto an android outpost, and vice versa. Enemies will now be a little less aggressive when chasing. AUDIO Updated audio volume behavior so that lower volume values will now be much quieter. Changed Audio Settings Master Volume default value from 100% to 75%. Decreased the volume of the starting video by about 20%. Enemy base turret explosions will now be a little quieter. COMBAT Total overhaul of laser weapons and lightning weapons. All new SFX for almost every weapon, including new muzzle flares, impact particles, and unique sounds - weapons should look and feel much more distinct. Several laser weapons were also converted from a laser beam (or ray) that instantly hits the target to a new laser bolt (or ray march) that moves through space towards the target. Increased the health and damage of Laser Turrets, Flame Turrets, and Tesla Turrets by about 35%. Fixed an issue that could cause the player to not receive loot/XP for a kill when the player's turret caused the killing shot. The player's deployable turrets now have identical perception ranges in combat and out of combat. This should make turrets behave more consistently. CRAFTING Updated the descriptions for various items and schematics to make their benefits and mode of operation more clear. This affects all of the Shield Generators, Cybernetic Implants, Med Kits, Plasma Pick, Mining Drill, and Drill Bot. The Drill Bot schematic will now create 4 Drill Bots instead of 1. This should ma...

    Update 1.3.2411

Update 1.3.2411 This update includes a broad set of improvements and fixes based on your feedback. Thank you to everyone that shared your thoughts with us! AI Ranged enemies will now move significantly more in combat. They will occasionally move behind cover. In larger groups, some may move to flank their target. When several melee enemies are attacking the same target, they will now spread out more around their target. Enemies will now try to maintain a minimum distance from their target, and will move backwards when their target gets too close. This will make it easier to shoot melee enemies that were getting too close to the player. Ranged enemies will now perform dodging behaviors when attacked. Updated the movement properties and colliders for some creatures to prevent them from walking on top of each other. Fixed an issue that caused AIs to think they had line of sight on their target, when the target moved out of their perception range very quickly. COMBAT Increased the base accuracy of some projectile weapons to improve their effectiveness against moving enemies. CRAFTING Fixed an issue that resulted in some automated schematics continuing to output items after all fuel was consumed. MISSIONS Updated the objective text for the "Secure Data" mission to indicate that the required items are obtained from chests. PUZZLES Reduced the speed of the Timed Target puzzle by about 25%. RESEARCH Fixed an issue that caused the Flame Turret to unlock at research level 3 instead of research level 2. SETTINGS Fixed an issue where settings may not have been saved if the game was immediately exited after changing settings. SHIP The compass marker for the drop pod will now mark the bridge console, hangar console, or drop pod, depending on which of those three is interactable. This should make it more clear that players must warp at the bridge console before using the drop pod to visit a new island. Added additional signs throughout the ship to help the player navigate. These s...

    Update 1.2.2409

Update 1.2.2409 We’ve made a number of changes to the early game experience based on feedback. Thank you to everyone who has shared their thoughts and helped us make Far Horizon a better experience for it! STARTING EXPERIENCE Reduced the iron ingots required to craft drop pod repair parts from 4 to 3. This reduces the amount of required raw iron from 24 to 18. If a player on the mission "We Require More Minerals" hasn't located enough iron ore for several minutes, Zeus will grant assistance by marking all iron ore nodes on the compass. Large enemy encampments will no longer appear on the first island, to give players more time to get adjusted to combat. The size of the first island has been reduced by 50%. Several early mission descriptions have been updated to improve clarity. The location of the research data cache in the mission "Away" has been adjusted to prevent large groups of hostile animals spawning nearby. MISSIONS Mission items required for the "Secure Data" and "Combat Protocols" missions will now be easier to find. A new mission has been added after "The Circle of Life" to analyze Horticulture Data Chips after collecting them. CRAFTING Supercharged Shield Generator schematics now require Rutilant Cloth instead of Rutilant Weave. MISC If the Plasma Pick or Mining Drill are crafted after warping to an island, they can now be used right away, and no longer require warping to a new island before becoming usable. Added additional colliders to the Engine Room to prevent players getting stuck if they climb on the generators.
