About this game
Message from DOC
You are an employee of the Department of Collections. You are required to complete tasks in order to progress. Along the way you will find scraps and unique items to help you on your mission, very little will be provided to you by DOC. Everything must be earned and we expect compliance. You'll find puzzles along the way you must solve. Diving further will result in new and more difficult challenges, but you must meet the assigned tasks or risk termination. You enter with your team and not all of you are guaranteed to leave. And remember, you are not alone.
DOC appreciates your efforts and expects success.
Summary Feature List
Up to four player coop
Proximity voice chat and intercom system
Fully procedural level generation
Smart AI Director to ease frustrations and tune engagement
Fight back and outplay the distinct AI
Explore the seemingly infinite depths of the facility
Save/Load system
Build your team
Form a team of up to four total people or play solo. The team shares an increasing and evolving task list as the missions progress.
Complete your task list
Complete your randomly generated and ever growing task list to progress to the next floor. DOC expects full completion before allowing you to progress.
Communication is key
Utilize the proximity voice chat and a wide range of emotes. Utilize the intercom system to keep everyone in the mission in sync no matter where they are.
Explore new environments
The missions you explore are unique and vast. Room layouts, connections, contents, and scrap are all procedurally generated using an advanced algorithm to make the space believable and more compact. These can be built reliably using seeds.
Balance your power usage
Power not only provides you with light, but it is also your currency. Scrap items you find to gain power, and spend your power to gain personal or team upgrades.
Upgrade your base and experience
An upgrade system exists that allows you to dynamically change how any level is played. Radar, item value, inventory capacity, storage capacity and more can be upgraded via choices made in each level.
You are not alone
An advanced AI Director will navigate the threat-level AI around your location, while also offering a break to those frequented by the AI. Fear is the goal, not frustration. Find hiding spots around your environment and avoid making too much noise. Most AI have unique counters to help prevent death.
You are not the only one with good ears
If you hear something make noise, the AI can most likely hear it too. Be careful about making too much noise. Crouch or walk, but run at your own risk. You are NOT the fastest entity present.
Fight back
The items you find can be used to negate the AI threat. But be mindful: You will not be able to kill any of the AI. They are always a threat.
Save your progress
Every play through can be saved and reloaded for a cost. Find the floppy discs in each level to save your progress or scrap them for power.
Async Mission Loading
The experience is continuous once you have entered the main base. Each mission is loaded asynchronously to offer a fluid experience.

Release Date Set for Early Access
After a year of being quiet and working on the game, we are ready to release the game into Early Access. The game will likely officially release into 1.0 a year after that (or sooner if done sooner). The planned EA release date is September 25th! Things that are missing from EA:Story elementsMore diverse environmentsExtra tasksMore monstersMore Quality of Life improvementsBefore we hit Early Access however, we are in need of some players for a closed play test! Please either hop in the discord or just send an email requesting access to the play test. We are happy to provide codes for multiplayer testing as well. During the closed play test, we would like to monitor how players approach numerous issues and situations in the game to help determine what works and what does not work. We ask that you either record your session privately with a microphone attached (so we can maybe hear your thoughts as you play) or publicly stream your session (and send us the link) so we can evaluate future changes that are needed. Additionally, we would love to hear your general feelings of the game. Was it frustrating? Fun? Got boring fast? Confusing? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Please don't hesitate to be critical and please do reach out if you have any interest at all.Read full article on Community Announcements (Dan)AnnouncementsOfficial
Thanks for trying the early Demo
Thanks to all the players who played the game and showed interest in it. We are hunkering down and reworking some systems and continuing to work on the game. Some things we are still working on and hoping to accomplish: A much more friendly introduction to the game More interesting things to find in a level Visual overhaul Much more advanced level generation More creatures that are not necessarily hunting you, but there to threaten you. Ones that work with the main hunting monster 3D model overhaul More interesting levels visually and flow wise We're choosing to take the demo down now because the player count has steadied off and is very low, and also because we don't feel like the current Demo will represent the final game as accurately as future play tests will. We will announce future playtests and demo releases within the coming months we hope. If you have any feedback to provide for us about your experience on the demo, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for playing DanRead full article on Community Announcements (Dan)Patch NotesOfficial
