About this game
Catamyst is an action roguelike that requires players to craft potions and defeat waves of molecular amalgamations. You'll be combining real-world chemistry with magical potions to destroy the monstrosities that have emerged.
DEFEND NATURE
Willow is a Cat Witch who lives comfortably in the woods as its guardian.
Recently, Amalgamations made of Chemical Elements and magical Vis have been spawning in nature and disrupting the ecosystem. The problem has been tracked back to a single source: A highly magical Obelisk that has emerged in the forest clearing.
Willow must use their prowess as a forest guardian to brew potions, collect molecules and imbue Vis into powerful enchantments to fight back these monstrosities.
UTILISE POWERFUL POTIONS
Willow has access to a vast amount of potions at their disposal. Potions are thrown at groups of enemies and each potion has a unique characteristic.
Potions are crafted using Molecules collected from defeated amalgamations. These potion recipes are based on real-world chemical processes/compounds, with affects to match!
Potions level up as you defeat enemies, allowing you to harness unique builds and strategise the optimal ways to overcome the trials.
Master 25+ unique potions with recipes made from 7 different Molecule types.

ATTUNE ENCHANTMENTS
Destroying the Obelisk means siphoning all of its magical Vis. The Obelisk can fight back and will create increasingly stronger amalgamations to stop Willow in their tracks. However, Willow can use this siphoned Vis to their advantage - by creating powerful Enchantments.
Enchantments are upgrades to Willow that can make them significantly more powerful. Enchantments can be attuned reguarly, whilst also spending Vis collected throughout the waves. Powerful Enchantments can drastically change how the game is played.
Catamyst offers 75+ unique enchantments, across 4 rarities, to add a vast amount of variety across runs.

AUGMENT YOUR POTIONS WITH CATALYSTS
Catalysts are powerful augments that you can attach to your potion, granting it new abilities and power.
Both Catalysts and Potions can each have unique effects that work in synergy with one another. It's important to strategise which Potion/Catalyst combinations are best!
There are 25+ different Catalysts that you can encounter. This means over 500+ unique combinations.

Catamyst v1.2: Wave Modifiers, Menu Overhaul & More!
Hi! Catamyst v1.2 is finally here! It took a bit longer than expected as... I kept adding stuff to the update. Whoops. Anyway we're finally here and the update is out now!To start, Catamyst has a new logo! Your library should update all its assets soon with the brand new design, and you'll see it in the Main Menu in-game. Next up, are Wave Modifiers - unique effects that have a chance to occur every single wave. These modifiers replace the former "Negative Modifiers" that you'd find attached to rare Enchantments. Unlike the previous modifiers, these aren't purely negative. Instead, they'll find ways to change up how you manage the wave. For example... Heavy Rainstorm! This wave modifier slows all enemies down by 10%, I guess the Barcs got waterlogged or something. You'll notice some darker lighting and even the rain splashing off of Willow's head (the rain can even hit your cursor!).As a starter in this update, there are 7 total modifiers to discover. Miniboss/Boss waves have their own modifier to let you know a scary wave is coming up. This system is designed to easily have more modifiers, so definitely more to come later on.The next major update is the Upgrade Menu Refresh. This portion of the update completely overhauls all upgrade-related interface and makes them look nicer, be more interactive, and more performant. The following menus have been reworked and improved:Enchantment Selection.Potion Selection.Catalyst Selection.Obelisk Shop Menu.Enchantment Display (aka showing your list of owned Enchantments).Stats Display.Potion Bar Hover Infobox.Take a look at the redesigns below:You'll also notice a couple more changes in the update: Enchantments have a new rarity system, allowing you to get multiple higher tier Enchantments per wave, if you're really lucky.More purchase options have been added to the Shop, but you can no longer purchase Health/Vis. You can still convert between Molecules. This is primarily for balance reasons and also reducing time in menus between...Read full article on Community Announcements (bugsaretasty)Patch NotesOfficial
