World Ocean Day Event!
We are so proud to be participating in this year's World Ocean Day event on Steam running from June 4th to the 11th! During the event, a portion of all sales for Boardwalk Builders will be donated to help save whales in Norway.From the organizers: "This year’s event will focus on our campaign to end whaling in Norway through our Norway for Whales campaign, mobilising a wave of change within Norway to bring an end to the brutal hunts."The game will be streamed during the event on Twitch, so catch it wherever you see streamers participating in World Ocean Day! Launching in One Week!
Boardwalk Builders is finally coming in just 7 days! I've been hard at work polishing the game for release, fixing any last minute bugs and doing some balancing. A few things to expect for the game: What is Boardwalk Builders? A game where you focus on creating a beautiful seaside shopping and entertainment destination. You do this by building shops and scaling up to larger buildings that hold more visitors and earn more money. How long is the game? A typical play through from start to unlocking and building all buildings will take about 4-6 hours. What is different about the game? Boardwalk Builders lets you combine shops to create bigger ones. Each new shop has it's own unique recipe which has to be learned during game play.What about the management aspect? Each building has it's own stats. You can control product price, which dictates how expensive the products are that each shop sells, but it also slows down how fast the shop handles customers. You can also adjust capacity which lowers the cost of running the shop, but makes it so the shop can't serve as many people at a time. You can also purchase upgrades for the shop. These elements make management a constant task throughout the game as you balance income vs. expenses and try to continue growing. You also have to pay attention to the condition of your buildings. As time goes on, they need to be repaired. You can hire maintenance workers to come and fix your buildings, which also costs money. Is there an end game? Yes. Although you build, combine and manage throughout the whole game, once you reach a certain point you can activate festivals and invite VIPs. Festivals give certain bonuses to your boardwalk, such as increased income or fame points. VIPs come and increase your visit rate by a lot while they are on the boardwalk, meaning more customers, but they also unlock special elite buildings if they like what the see.
