Over the past few weeks, I have carefully read through all your Steam reviews and community threads.Update 1.6.0 directly tackles your most common feedback: improving visual readability during fast runs, giving runs more roguelite depth, and introducing a brand-new retro chiptune soundtrack that truly matches the fast-paced arcade spirit of the game.Here is everything new in Update 1.6.0:🌟Visual Clarity & ReadabilityReworked Obstacles: All obstacles (rocks, logs, hay bales) now feature punchier contrast and bright highlight outlines. They clearly pop against the background now, making jumps much fairer and more readable at top speed (and much friendlier for colorblind players).Cleaner Screen: Reduced the density of floating dust particles in the air to keep your vision clear when the action gets hectic.Unobstructed Paths: Tweaked the landscape generation so houses and huts no longer spawn on steep slopes where they could block your view of incoming hazards.World Details: Loose leaves on the ground now swirl up dynamically into the air as your herd gallops past, and little birds in the bonus areas happily bounce to the rhythm of the music.🦄 Herd Rescues & Roguelite DepthSecond Chance Herd Rescues: Losing one of your favorite starting horses early in a run always felt frustrating. In 1.6.0, lost starting horses will now appear in the very next horse crate between levels, giving you a fair chance to rescue them and keep your build alive!Rare Bonus Horses in Crates: In-level crates now have a 20% chance to offer rare bonus horses with stacked power-ups.   Joining Games Composed in Germany & Update Recap

  Hi everyone! 🙋‍♂️I'm happy to share that Horse Runner DX is part of the Games Composed in Germany event this week. With new players joining the herd, I wanted to take a moment to recap some of the major improvements from the recent 1.5.0 update that make the game feel better than ever:New "Starting Herd" Feature: You can now start every run with up to 3 horses (or unicorns) to jump right into the action. I've also overhauled the UI with a new herd screen (inspired by Mario Kart). It makes choosing your starting horses and power-ups much more intuitive.Smoother Camera Movement: One of the main pieces of feedback was camera jitter at high speeds. I've re-engineered the camera smoothing to ensure a stable and pleasant experience, even when the pace gets chaotic.Steam Deck & High-FPS Support: For the tech enthusiasts - the custom engine now fully supports high refresh rate monitors for ultra-smooth arcade action (e.g. 90 Hz/FPS on Steam Deck OLED).The game is currently 30% off ($3.49) during the event.   🥳 Update 1.5.0 - Build Your Starting Herd

  Hey everyone! 🙋‍♂️This is by far the biggest update of Horse Runner DX! The new starting herd system lets you begin each run with up to 3 horses and create your own herd builds right from the start. Together with many gameplay, graphics and technical improvements, the game now feels faster, smoother and better than ever.Gameplay ImprovementsNew Herd Feature: You can now start every run with a custom herd of up to 3 horses instead of just one! Each horse contributes its own power-ups, allowing you to create different herd builds right from the start. This new feature should also make it possible to achieve some wild new high scores.Demo Update: If you've only tried the demo so far, you'll now find all the new features and improvements from this update in the demo version as well. In addition, the demo's progression has been completely revamped so that players can now experience much more speed and action.Horse Shuffling: The horses randomly swap positions within the herd. This has now been disabled at high speeds and on steep slopes so that the horses can react precisely at all times and no longer fall into obstacles by accident.Power-Up Display: Since you can now accumulate many power-ups quickly, there's an improved and easier-to-read power-up display at the bottom of the screen. Power-ups are now grouped and displayed with their quantity shown as a number.Achievement Adjustments: Several achievements have been rebalanced to match the new starting herd system.Graphical ImprovementsNew Herd Screen: You can now assemble your new starting herd of up to 3 horses on a Mario Kart-style character screen. This screen also functions as a horse collection album where you can buy/unlock new horses.Smoother Camera: The previous camera used to bounce up and down a lot on hilly terrain, which some players found unpleasant.   🦄 Update 1.3.5 - Visual Clarity & New Leaderboard

  Hey everyone! 🙋‍♂️This update directly addresses the player feedback I've received over the past few weeks:ImprovementsImproved visual clarity: All obstacle graphics have been reworked, resulting in higher contrast and easier visibility. In addition, the colors of the background graphics were adjusted to reduce distractions. This makes the game more enjoyable and offers greater visual clarity.Improved leaderboard view: The old leaderboard always displayed the first 1000 high scores, which made it quite cluttered. Now, the top 20 and an area around your own high score are shown. Additionally, the next highest ranks (100, 200, ...) are displayed above your own high score.New friends leaderboard: In addition to the global high scores there's now a leaderboard that shows only you and your friends. This makes it easier to compare your high scores with friends.Improved herd jumping: When one of the following horses wants to swap positions with another, it accelerates briefly to overtake. On steep slopes, this could sometimes cause it to lose contact with the ground for a second. If the player jumps at that exact moment, the accelerating horse might not be able to make the jump in time. This has now been fixed, so the accelerating horse will no longer fall/slide into an obstacle.Clearer game focus: The Steam page now better reflects the fast-paced, chaotic arcade gameplay at the heart of Horse Runner DX. If you haven't checked it in a while, it's worth another look.Bug FixesSound settings: Fixed an issue where the selected sound volume was not saved.Comfort settings: Fixed an issue where the comfort assistant would appear at an inconvenient moment.Have fun trying it out and climbing the leaderboard!   🦄 Update 1.3.2 - Improved Graphics & Sound

  Hey everyone! 🙋‍♂️This update brings improved graphics, new ambient sounds and many small improvements: Lots of little things that make the game prettier and more enjoyable :-)Improved Graphics & SoundImproved graphics: The graphics engine has been improved, so that different terrain can now be shown in each landscape. Meadows now have more flowers, mountains are covered in rocks, and forests are full of branches. The river landscape has also been made somewhat swampier, with tall grass and dead wood.Improved biomes: All landscapes have been further refined, giving each one its own unique look. In the mountains, for example, the bushes in the background have been replaced with overgrown rocks. All landscapes now also feature more vegetation in the foreground.Ambient sounds: Depending on the landscape, you can now hear ambient sounds. Rivers babble, birds chirp, stones crunch in the mountains, and the wind whistles. It's best to turn the music down to 0 to listen to everything. Combined with the improved graphics, each landscape now has a more distinct character.Other ImprovementsHorse counter: Whenever a horse is added or lost (starting from five horses), the current number of horses is displayed.Improved particle effects: The confetti particle effects have been given even more confetti because... um... more confetti! :-)Improved camera: If several horses crash in quick succession, the camera no longer jumps to the wrong horse.Have fun with the latest version - hope you enjoy it!Mat 🤗
