About this game
TOKYO DRIVE is a racing game that uses the location information (*) of actual roads and buildings in Tokyo, Japan (Tokyo's 23 wards).
This game is about enjoying driving a car on an open-world map that reproduces (*) the location of real roads.
[Features]
Most of the roads in Tokyo (Tokyo's 23 wards) are reproduced.
Let's drive on the roads of the vast Tokyo Metropolis (Tokyo's 23 wards) (about 600 square kilometers).
Fast travel function is available.
Car purchase and transfer functions are available.
There is a collection element.
Day and night cycle (morning to night) is available.
You may become familiar with places and roads in Tokyo (23 wards of Tokyo).
Can be played on non-high spec PCs.
(Can be played with on-board graphics (integrated graphics)).
[Reproduction of roads and buildings] (*)
Bridges (including overpasses) are not reproduced.
The elevation (topography) where roads and buildings are located is not reproduced.
(All roads are flat.) (Since there are many cities and few mountainous areas, there are no plans to support this feature at this time.)
(The size of buildings is as close to the actual size as possible.)
The location, size, and names of roads and buildings are current as of the time of positioning and may differ from the latest information.
The appearance of roads, ground, and buildings are automatically set and may differ from the actual ones.
(Only the location and size of roads and buildings are reproduced.)
The names of the buildings are mainly public institutions information on the in-game map. (Schools, stations, police stations, fire stations, post offices, etc.)
(*)Information from MLIT Japan's Project PLATEAU is used.
[Remarks]
We are planning to add various functions and improvements in the future. Please check the Early Access information in the store for details.
Please also refer to the Community Hub's Q&A for current developments.
The author is not responsible for any disadvantages caused by the use of this game.
(For example, the author cannot be held responsible if the road information is out of date.
) Also, since the game contains a huge amount of road information, it requires several tens of gigabytes of space when installed, so please make sure you have enough free space to play.

Next Update And Official Release Plan
Announcement Regarding the Next Update and Planned Official Release It has been approximately three months since the previous release (v0.04). In this announcement, we would like to inform you about the schedule for the next update and the official release. (Release Date) - Scheduled for summer 2026 (This update is coming up soon.) (Major Updates) - Display of Unique Structures Unique, special buildings will be displayed at specific locations. Additionally, dedicated objects will be displayed for certain types of buildings (primarily those included in the stamp collection). We believe this will help increase motivation to visit specific locations. (Over 50 types of buildings are planned to be added) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45001347/4cc2a1b6a6abe53b86609ac2762c37d57d54b900.png (Other Minor Updates) - Changes to Some Stamp Categories and Names (“Railroad Company” -> “Public Health Center”) (“Power Company” -> “Tax Office”) The official release was originally targeted for 2026, but it may now be pushed back to early 2027–spring. As announced in this release update, development itself is continuing, but this delay is due to the time required to optimize the implementation of white road markings in the previous release. (The recent surge in memory module prices also played a role, as we chose not to resolve the issue by increasing memory capacity.) Additionally, while development of the core game features may be completed by 2026, when factoring in balance adjustments, testing, and other tasks, a release within 2026 may not be feasible. We may end up keeping you waiting longer than originally planned, but we are also planning to add several new features to the official release. We are continuing development to deliver the best possible experience, so we would appreciate your patience for a little while longer. This concludes our current progress report. Thank you for playing.Read full article on Community Announcements (AiTHER)AnnouncementsOfficial
v0.04.00 released!
v0.04.00 released! TOKYO DRIVE “v0.04.00” major update was released today! This update is mainly focused on improvements to the display of white road markings and loading times. The updated features and fixes are as follows. (Major Updates) We have improved road loading times. (Because this update involves a comprehensive overhaul of the road rendering system, it is a major update.) -White lines are now displayed on roads at all times. -Loading times when displaying the drive screen have been reduced. -Loading times for roads when using the fast travel screen have been reduced. (Other minor changes) -We have removed the option to turn white lines on or off from the Options screen. (This is because performance has become more stable and faster, reducing the need to turn them off.) That's all.Read full article on Community Announcements (AiTHER)Patch NotesOfficial
Development Update: Still in Progress (2)
It has been approximately two months since our last announcement. We would like to provide an update on the current development status. We are currently working on improving load times and implementing support for displaying white lines on roads. Development itself is progressing smoothly, but due to the overhaul of the loading process and the fact that we are implementing support for all areas within Tokyo's 23 wards, the work is taking time. Development has now reached the mid-to-late stages. However, due to the overhaul of the loading process, balance adjustments and testing will be required. Therefore, we are targeting the next release to be approximately 1 to 3 months from now. We apologize for the slight delay, but we are steadily progressing to ensure a more comfortable gaming experience. This concludes our current progress report. Thank you for playing.Read full article on Community Announcements (AiTHER)Patch NotesOfficial
Development Update: Still in Progress
It’s been about three months since the September 2025 update (v0.03). We’ve kept working during this time, and development is still moving forward as we prepare future updates. Right now, we’re focusing on two things: preparing new features for upcoming releases and improving load times. Our first priority is to release the load time improvements, though the adjustments are still in progress. We’re also working on adding white line markings to roads. Looking ahead into 2026, we plan to keep adding features and move closer to a full release. That’s all for now—thanks for playing!Read full article on Community Announcements (AiTHER)
