About this game

Play as a physionomist in a fractured society undergoing multiple crises. Face the dangers of nightlife, take on increasingly risky contracts, build a solid reputation with clubs, and buy equipment to secure a better future.

The Controls

Decide who gets in the club and who doesn't. Analyse customers to find out if they are sober, unarmed and of legal age. See if they have suspicious white marks on their nose which can prove drug use, or if they have a specific tattoo on their body. Talk to them to validate your assumptions and reject them if they are confirmed.

The Memories

Be careful what you say to people. They react dynamically to your actions and remember your interactions. It's not uncommon to see fights break out because of a misunderstanding or a clumsy remark. Watch your back if you've denied access to someone with a grudge.

The Order

For everyone to enjoy a great night at the club, following the rules is a must. Otherwise, the police could shut down the place, or worse. Don’t hesitate to remind others to respect them, and if they refuse, ensure compliance by any means necessary.

The Fights

Sometimes diplomacy is no longer a viable option in your work. You will have to use force to solve problems. That said, be careful of collateral damage.

The Savings

At the end of each mission, you'll have to choose wisely which expenses to cover such as the rent, heating, groceries, ... Try to put as much money aside as possible to cover unexpected events, and to buy some useful stuff in the market such as a gym membership to be stronger, or a melee weapon to defend yourself more effectively.

DevNotes #5 | New Maps, Dynamic Weather, Public Transports & Combat Rework

Hey everyone! 👋First off, I want to apologize for the silence over the last couple months. Balancing a full-time job, game development, and the holidays, I kinda slowed down public updates. Moving forward, I’ll do my best to keep you all updated more regularly!Despite the quiet period, work hasn't stopped! I’ve been hard at work taking all your feedback from the demo into account and pushing the scope of Physio even further! Today, I’m excited to share a major update focused on deepening the overall atmosphere and immersion, featuring new environments, reactive NPC behaviors, a dynamic weather system, interactive vehicles, and a complete overhaul of the combat mechanics!🗺️ New Maps(in-game footage)I'm working on 7 brand-new maps to the game, and 1 of them is already fully integrated in-game (cf: gif above)!I don't want to spoil too much! But here are some footage of some maps I'm working on from real place in Paris or its suburbs.(Images taken in Blender)🌧️ Dynamic Weather System(in-game footage)Environmental conditions will now shift across four distinct weather states: clear, cloudy, light rain and heavy rain (with "realistic" surface wetting and drying cooldowns), and thunderstorms! Also, weather isn't just visual, it directly impacts gameplay:Crowd Impatience: Rain makes people waiting in line far less patient, putting more pressure on your queue management!Bystander Reactions: When it starts raining, pedestrians on the street will start running to find cover!🚃 Public Transport(in-game footage)To make the city streets feel more active and dangerous, I’ve introduced functional public transport across some maps:Interactive Tramway: On one map, a fully operational tram runs through the street! It rings its bell when obstacles are detected on the tracks and can knock down both bystanders and the player if you aren’t careful!Parisian Metro Line 6: Another map now features the iconic elevated Metro Line 6 passing through the neighborhood, adding to the urban ambiance!🚶...

DevNotes #4 | The Smartphone Update & Demo Overhaul

Hey everyone! 👋Hope you're all doing great since the last update! Today, I’m thrilled to walk you through a major evolution of the Physio demo based on your incredible feedback.📈 Feedback After the First ReleaseReleasing the demo to the public was a massive milestone for me. It validated two big things:The Concept Works: People get the vibe! It’s clear the game uses discrimination as a mechanic for dark humor without intending harm, and most importantly, you guys found it funny!Gameplay Needed Depth: While the core was fun, the ID interaction was a bit too simple and got repetitive quickly. You wanted more variety and a clearer picture of what the full game will offer. I heard you loud and clear📱 Your New Best Friend: The SmartphoneTo add depth without cluttering the screen with a heavy HUD, I’ve introduced a smartphone. Since we all know how to navigate apps and menus in real life, it makes the UI feel natural and intuitive (which is a relief for me, as UI/UX isn’t my strongest suit!)VerifID AppThe manual ID check has been completely overhauled. In the world of Physio, bouncers use the VerifID app to access the government database via biometrics.Snap a Photo: You’ll need to take a picture of the NPC to pull their official dataDo the Math: I’ve removed the automatic age helper! You’ll now need to compare the ID's birthdate against the current date displayed on your phone to see if they’re legalSide Note: Strangely enough, right after I started working on this, a news article popped up in France about the police using a very similar biometric app. Talk about odd timing! It’s a bit unsettling in reality, but it fits our game world perfectlyClub DBThis app is your connection to the venue. It tracks:Reservations & Blacklists: Know exactly who is welcome and who is bannedVIP Tracking: Get the heads-up on high-profile guests or politicians to avoid any "diplomatic incidents" at the doorParty RulesForget memorizing everything! This app lists every rule for your shift. If y...

DevNotes #3 | First internal test

Hey ! 👋 Long time no see huh ?No worries, I'm still working hard on the game !This post should have been published over a month ago, but I've been busy elsewhere. I'm posting it anyway, and other posts will follow with the latest news 😁Steam Next FestVery important news: I asked for a review of a stable build to Steam team. So if everything is ok, a demo of the game will be available at the February Steam Next Fest 🥳🎉🥊 New Fighting SystemsI'm glad to introduce you the new fighting system with fresh animations, VFX and sound design. There is still some polishing left, but it should be enough for the upcoming demo.New mechanics have been introduced such as :🎯 Hit zones: your hit direction, type (jab, hook), and target location (head, torso) now trigger specific impact animations and affect the damage you deal. Pro tip: always aim for the head !⚡ Low stamina effect: if you lack stamina, your damage can drop up to 50%, and your movement speed will also decrease🤩 Feedback system: stamina is indicated through sound design (your character will breath loudly) and through visual effects (your vision will be less clear). Player's health is shown via a basic red vignette that intensifies when you're low hp💀 Player's death: dying animation has been added where time will slow down and your character will close its eyes slowly🧠 AI fighting logic: Enemies now react to your health, stamina, and other variables to adjust their aggressiveness. They can coordinate movements to avoid blocking each other while attacking you. They’re also capable of surrounding you, but I disabled that for now because it’s completely unbalanced. Fighting is meant to be difficult, not impossible. I need more time to tune this correctly😱 AI Fear level: during fights, enemies now have a fear value that can cause them to back away or flee when things turn bad. This system still needs some tweaking💪 Players hit combo: All your attacks can now hit multiple targets. Be careful not to hit the wrong person unless ...

DevNotes #2 | Almost ready for first internal test

Hello everyone ! New UI for dialogues 💬 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45284717/785ce6036d58db27e64a0c6ad0db51ca31faf44a.gif As with every rework, it has led to other redesigns, such as a complete overhaul of the input system. In most of video games, the same input often has different contextual uses. For example, pressing the 'W' key in the menu moves up the selected UI component, while pressing the same key outside the menus moves the character forward. As the number of game contexts increases with the addition of more sub-activities (driving, fishing, discussing, etc.), a cleaner solution was needed to manage the consequences of pressing a button. a way to organize the source code so input interpretation can be easily switched. For example, when the player is loaded into the game, the gameplay input logic is active, so pressing the left click throws a jab. However, when the player starts a dialogue, the dialogue input logic is loaded, making the left click skip the current dialogue line. This implementation took me a while to set up, but I'm sure it will save me headaches in the future. This new system also lays the groundwork for supporting Joy-Cons in the near future. New identity card 🛂 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45284717/05c15be2a46dec7a28f73dcf85c780a262215710.gif The UX of controlling ped's identity has been reworked. I've decided to integrate ID Cards as an interactive 3D object. You'll be able to hover fields on the card such as the first name, last name, birthday, ethnicity, ... Clicking on them will ask directly a question to the ped controlled to verify the information and ensure it's not fake. There's more to say about this feature, but to avoid spoilers, I'll stop here 😢. Woman finally added 🙋‍♀️ {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45284717/b77a897ad81b81485b74ae376ace0a3158dd971e.jpg I finally managed to motivate myself to finalize the female model. I've used the male model as a base for it, which saved me a lot of time in designing it. Honorable mention to my friend Alexis, who advise...

DevNotes #1 | First on Steam

Hello 👋 Usually, I do my devnotes on Instagram to share my progress with my friends. But lately, I noticed that people I don't know wishlisted the game. Therefore, to let everyone know that the game is still in development, I'll post my devnotes here approximatively one time per month. So here are the latest "big" news since Decembre 2024. Checking ped pockets 👀 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45284717/ab8a2a71757b589697aafc95de7883ee776a581f.png The new feature I've been working on is the ability to check peds pockets content. You are now able to ask a ped to empty their pockets which will force the camera to focus on their hands. And if the ped has some props in its pockets, it'll show them in its hands. Note that a ped can only have a maximum of two props. It can be drugs (weed bag, cocaine bag, a joint, etc) or common objects (wallet, keys). For now, I did not modelize all items models, so I'll let you know in another devnote when It's done. You can ask them to throw them away, or to give them to you. You'll be able to make money by stealing the drugs, but you're exposing yourself to police and the hostility of other drug dealers. It's a first approach in the gameplay but I'm afraid some people will not be able to see correctly the product due to the distance between the camera and the ped's hands. I'll let internal testers let me know of their feeling with this and review it if necessary. For now, I kinda like the vibe that gives the outline shader with its emission color 👀 Retaliation groups 💥 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45284717/5155f403e1b158a4169ca49820cf4fa47a8c8c2d.png A retaliation group is a group of peds that'll spawn to beat you up. They will appear if you've insulted or treated badly a ped that will seek revenge by calling it's friends. In other words, It'll be able to call some "reinforcements" to kill you. In the screenshot, the group size is very big and it'll be more balanced in the future. Bystanders Peds 🚶 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45284717/7991611dde6a22bfc2229bfff024a2...
