Embark on a journey where your choices shape the fate of a world teetering between life and annihilation. In Annuit Coeptis, strategic card play drives your actions as you navigate a land poised on the brink of destruction.

About this game

SLAY THE WORLD

It's the End of the World. A series of natural disasters have been set in motion that will wipe out the world of man in a few short days. Time enough to test your wits and skill against the madness. Build a deck before and during a run, upgrading cards to face the challenges present in each stage. Every enemy poses a different threat, with multiple attack types and maneuvers. Defeat is only a setback - your progress in each run provides you with the means to improve your deck going forward. This is the deckbuilding roguelite for adults.

FIGHT OR DIE

Fast-paced card combat against a wide variety of foes. Use your attacks strategically to defeat enemies. Anticipate their actions to minimize the damage you take - to prologue your inevitable death? Or, perhaps, to win.

GROW AND EVOLVE

During a run you will have opportunities to expand and customize your deck. Add new cards for stronger attacks and to gain new options in combat. Each individual card may be upgraded as well, choosing from a variety of effects including buffs and attack damage.

LEARN AND MASTER

Between runs you can spend Useless Trinkets obtained during previous runs to unlock better cards. You may also lock away cards you no longer wish to appear in your deck. In this way, you can craft the deck you start each run with to your own style and approach while increasing in power to make it further with each playthrough.

EXPLORE AND CONQUER

The land of Zoryavia is a fully-realized dark fantasy kingdom. As you cut a bloody swathe through the country, you will witness firsthand the breakdown of society and the crumbling of order. You will collect various discarded items, each with a story to tell about the world, its past, and its people. You may also learn of darker things unknown to men - the old gods and beasts that dwell beneath the earth. Will you be strong enough to reach the source of the calamities? Only time will tell.

    Demo Hotfix

This seemed to be due to some code related to Steam Achievements. It seems I had not disabled this functionality thoroughly and safely enough and the game was locking due to trying to connect with Steam Achievements that did not exist for the demo. I have tested this on my end and seems to be working correctly now. If anyone has any problems with this on the latest version of the demo (.03) please let me know! Thanks again!

    Judgment - Everything Comes Around

Hello! In this build the following changes and additions were made: Added some depth and texture to the player cards and scaled them up slightly. This was with the intent to make the game more fun to look at and also to make it easier to read the cards and effects at a glance Player card buff/debuff effects have new icons that are larger and more prominently displayed along the sides of cards Tooltips now appear when player card buff/debuff icons are mouse-hovered. There are also now tooltips for the Might and Exhaustion panels of the Info Scroll in combat. Right-clicking also remains as a great way to access all card info The ESC key could previously be used to skip cutscenes but this was not indicated anywhere in-game; there is now a reminder on screen during cutscenes The Space key can now be used to fast-forward through segments of cutscenes! This was by far the most requested feature by Annuit Coeptis players, and now you can hit the spacebar to zip to the next dialogue chunk in a given cutscene. Reminder for this is also displayed during cutscenes Some minor corrections were also made, including a bugfix and adding some missing content: It is now no longer possible to play cards from the discard pile All four merchants now have the appropriate descriptive/flavor text Thanks again, more to come soon!

    Day 1 Hotfix

Some users were experiencing large developer tool UI buttons on screen during combat which blocked out the End Turn button. Also reported was the inability to properly interact with cards. This was due to the scaling options for the UI being improperly set; these have been changed to correctly adjust the size of the UI panels and buttons to the screen and allow proper gameplay.
