Snowbound is a roguelite farming game with tower defense elements. Build your farm, survive the night with a range of defenses, and complete missions to progress deeper into the forest.
In Snowbound: Dead of Winter, manage a farm while fending off nightly attacks. Navigate through icy forests and complete missions to unlock new areas, crafting a survival strategy with tower defenses.
About this game

Your farm is the heart of gameplay. Grow crops, refine them, and sell them for lots of money. Place a variety of buildings to refine existing items, or produce entirely new ones. Choose your strategy carefully, and be careful what you place, or risk angering the forest and becoming overwhelmed at night.

Once night comes, go inside your home and manage your defenses. Strike a balance between buying new defenses and expanding your farm to earn enough money to complete your mission. The longer you stay, the more monsters arrive.

Should you choose to stay longer in your mission, grow the Witheroot tree for increased rewards. After you complete your mission, spend valuable sap to unlock new buildings, defenses, and modifiers. With new tools, conquer missions at higher forest depths.

Update 0.5.0
Instead of listing out every single stat change since this update is so large, I'll instead summarize the effects on the gameplay. Changes: Added craftable parts. These parts are made from the base materials like wood and stone commonly found throughout the game. They're used in several recipes including for turrets. Turret crafting requirement balance changes Many craft recipes have had their energy requirement removed, however the cost for their associated buildings has been significantly increased. Added a qol feature where the player speeds up after using up all their energy for the day Values for several items have been rebalanced Energy required for certain harvesting actions has been rebalanced The game should feel very different after this update, especially the daytime gameplay. My sincerest apologies for taking so long to release the update, my current focus now is simply to get the game released.Read full article on Community Announcements (galaxasaurusgames)AnnouncementsOfficial
Updates on the game
Hello all! First of all I want to apologize for the long period of silence. Between next fest, dealing with natural disasters, and the holidays I just wasn't able to get anything out. However, while I was away I was still working on the next update! Since the last community update I made, the update ended up getting a lot bigger than expected, but it's just about ready. Originally it was supposed to only be a major patch, but now it's become a major patch, huge crafting changes (with new items), and another building. The only thing remaining before it's ready to launch is making sure there isn't anything broken from the changes. So that being said, it should be out soon, but I'm not going to give any exact estimates. After that update is out, the main focus will be on preparing to launch the game. That will involve adding controller support, fixing whatever bugs I can, and so on. Hopefully I'll have more of an estimate on the release date as well. Thanks for reading.Read full article on Community Announcements (galaxasaurusgames)AnnouncementsOfficial
Snowbound Devlog #3
Hey there! Not too long of a devlog today, but I wanted to put out something to give you all a progress update on the next update. It's currently about 75% done, this week I mainly worked on adding some fixes and additional things found during Next Fest (thanks to all who wishlisted during Next Fest!). I don't want to say anything definitively because it seems like every time I do a natural disaster shows up, but the update should hopefully be coming out next week!Read full article on Community Announcements (galaxasaurusgames)Patch NotesOfficial
Update Status
Hey everybody, I just wanted to make a quick post giving some updates on the next update. Unfortunately, due to hurricanes Helene and Milton I won't be able to get out the update this week. Hopefully I'll be able to put it out next week, but that remains to be seen. Either way I hope you all enjoy Next Fest next week! Unfortunately due to Milton there also won't be a devlog this week, but I'd say the update is about 50% done.Read full article on Community Announcements (galaxasaurusgames)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 0.4.0
New: New monsters - Flier, Egg Layer, and Tall Guy, I want to keep their new mechanics a surprise for the full release so all you get for now are their names! (Some of them appear in the header for this update as well) New traps - Up Flipper, Down Flipper, and Left Flipper, they move monsters by one tile in their responding direction. This allows you some control over where the monsters go, because the up and down flippers can be used to change their rows. New turrets - Cannon, Tesla Coil, and Lightning Rod. Cannon is very powerful, but has a significant cooldown. The tesla coil randomly attacks monsters. The lightning rod doesn't do any damage on it's own, but strengthens the damage from attack mode. New permanent upgrades - In order to unlock the new traps and turrets, new permanent upgrades have been added. QoL: You can now cycle through the objects on a given tile if there is more than one object, for example when a turret and wall are on the same tile. Destroy - A new option has appeared, the destroy option! This will destroy the selected object. Turrets are put back into your inventory, so you can move them if you want, however walls and traps are permanently destroyed! Repair walls - Building a wall on top of an existing damaged one will allow you to repair it! Changes: The way the levels work are somewhat changed. Now, a new enemy is introduced in each level. The enemies available in the demo haven't changed, but you'll no longer be able to find the spider in Depth I (it is added in Depth II+). Changed the descriptions of the levels to match the above change and provide a little more flavor. What's included in the demo? The new content (traps, turrets, monsters, upgrades, and levels) are not available in the demo. However, the other changes and QoL additions are! What's next? The next update will be the last one before next fest. I'm hoping to add some new crafting features, and I plan on testing a huge change to the crafting system. After next fest, I'll be...Read full article on Community Announcements (galaxasaurusgames)
