Game Play:

Each world contains dwellings, which lets you spend food on beasties. Beasties have different effects, and you have to arrange them in order to achieve your game plan. Some levels let you rearrange your beasties between combats, and some are boss battles that lock you in!

Highlightz:

  • Collect Beasties and learn their effects!
  • Grow your Bestiary with each encounter!
  • Manage resources to acquire equipment and beasties to build powerful team combos!
  • Explore six colorful worlds!
  • Team up with one of four Beastie clans: the Shee, the Goblins, the Duan and the Guttervolts!
  • Change up the rules in boss battles against Nora’s elite team of elves!
  • Cannot stress this enough, but you don't have to do any of these things if you don't want to!

    Hello, we're still here!

Let me start by apologizing for how long it's been since the last update. We're a tiny team of just two people and realistically only one of us is working on the code. So it just takes us a while to get updates in. We meant to post some progress sooner, but it's just been very busy with regular life, working on the updates, and also planning the next game. YES, we hear you about the glitch with endless battles literally becoming endless! First of all, stellar job mastering BoG so much that you were each able to get to 99 power stage, that's really incredible. A fix is underway and there should be an update for this today or tomorrow. As special thanks for being so patient, we've added a very silly easter egg that references our previous mascot who is already hidden in the items of BoG. Press 'F' to toggle it and see what happens! We're also working on adding keyboard and game pad controls as well as Portuguese and Spanish languages. The changes should be available in the next week or so. A Japanese language update is underway too, but we don't have a set expectation for when this will be available. We have many more changes and improvements we want to roll out for BoG to keep the game fresh and worth revisiting, but these changes will roll out slowly over the next few months. You'll be sure to hear about it here, of course! Aside from this we're very excited about the next game we're working on. It will also be a rogue-like, this time with game play closer to the original dungeon crawling ideal. The twist will be to make your way through the dungeon you first need to raise a powerful monster using virtual pet mechanics! Do you remember virtual pets from the 90s?! We still play ours and we hope you will really enjoy this challenging and very nostalgic adventure. Additionally, as vpet fans the two members of our team will also be making some cool free mod packs starting with a certain fan game of an old vpet franchise. You'll be able to play this fan game free with ze...

    Patch 1.1.1

Hey gang, Disco Reptile here. Some lovely players gave us some feedback we had a few changes to make! Bug fixes: Inspection button should no longer remain on the map screen. V now maxes out at 99. Fixed a visual bug with "ally" and "enemy" being shown in the inventory. The X button to end a boss battle you weren't ready for was overstaying its welcome, and remaining past beating the actual bosses. Fixed that. Added a little tutorial message explaining the box, since some players seemed to think the box keeping its beastie between saves was unintentional. The X button to end a boss stayed after the battle begun, meaning you could leave at any point and not lose a heart. Fixed a few typos on the journal. A few difficulty tweaks. Items now randomize when you beat a boss, not just when you start the game.

    Patch 1.1.0

Hey gang! Disco Reptile here. The boss let me know of a few bugs people had found, so I took the opportunity to sprinkle some quality of life features in based on recent feedback. 1.1.0 Features: Spacial box! Once your party is full, you can put an itemless beastie into the box. It will stay there even after you start a new game, so you can take strong beasties from it. It appears in the bottom left hand corner of the map once you have a full party after The Big Tree... assuming it isn't full while your party's full as well. You can now leave boss fights. When you fail a puzzle, the game will now advance instead of forcing you to solve it. You won't get the rewards, but you won't be stuck. Don't worry, it'll still be there on your next run, and you can try again by hitting the restart button as usual. Bug fixes: Some players found that Luna's buff was permanent, which was either a blessing or a curse. It now functions as intended. If you have no beasties and no food, you'll get food. Some players seemed to be starting the game without either somehow. This seemed like the best solution. Thanks for playing!!
