About this game
A letter from your Master brings a mysterious girl into your life. But the first thing you need to deal with is a café that could go out of business at any moment!
Contract Cafe is a modern-day role-playing game that combines café management, character bonding, city exploration, and narrative adventure.
The story takes place in a city somewhere on a distant continent. You play as Riko, the café’s current manager. While trying to keep the business running, you must also fulfill a promise and begin caring for a mysterious girl named Niya. Help her adjust to an unfamiliar life, gradually earn her trust, and stay by her side as she grows.
Purchase ingredients, install new equipment, improve the café, and serve all kinds of customers. This little café holds precious memories for many people. For the sake of your promise, the people around you, and yourself, you must find a way to keep its doors open.
But customers bring more than just orders.Through casual conversations, news reports, and street rumors, you will slowly realize that the city is beginning to change. Some people are forced to live while hiding their true identities. Certain roads cannot be found on any map, and traces of the past still lie buried beneath the city.
What secrets surround Niya? Why did your Master entrust her to you?
As cracks begin to form in the peaceful everyday life, Niya’s past, the struggles of those around you, and the stories between humans and non-humans will all begin to unfold from this small café.
Manage the café, accompany Niya as she grows, explore a changing city, and piece together the hidden truth from the fragments of conversations around you.
As the undercurrents beneath the city’s peaceful surface gradually emerge, your most urgent task remains the same:

Contract Cafe is the first game our small team has created while learning game development from the ground up. The full version is expected to offer around 20 hours of gameplay.

Hello, café managers! We’re the development team behind Contract Cafe.This is our first time posting a development update on Steam. To be honest, our team is much more used to keeping our heads down and working on the game than sitting down to write something this long. Still, we’re very happy to have this opportunity to properly talk with you about how Contract Cafe has been coming along.And thank you, as always, for your interest and support!Contract Cafe Is Still GrowingThe full version of Contract Cafe is still in development.It has now been about two years since full-scale development began. We’re a team that started learning game development from scratch, and along the way, we’ve tried many different approaches and gone through plenty of changes and adjustments. As we’ve gradually gained experience, the game has slowly taken shape into what it is today.Ever since we first introduced Contract Cafe through an early video, the game has remained in continuous development and iteration.What we showed at the time was still at a very early stage. As development has progressed, we’ve continued to adjust and expand the gameplay, art, UI, maps, and interactive content. We’ve also scrapped and rebuilt some parts that we weren’t fully satisfied with.Here are some of the things we’re currently continuing to work on:Improving the visuals and animations of every character;Refining the overall UI, interaction flow, and controls;Expanding the maps and explorable content;Adding more interactive elements and visual effects;Continuing to enrich the gameplay and overall content;Developing keyboard-and-mouse and controller support in parallel.During early development, our original plan was to build the game around keyboard and mouse first, then gradually add controller support.However, we want everyone to be able to enjoy the game comfortably with the control method that suits them best.
