Pretend Cars Racing 2 offers dynamic day-to-night races, letting you build tracks and compete globally. Race against friends locally or online in diverse events.

About this game

Pretend Cars Racing is back—rebuilt from the ground up. Keeping its signature balance between arcade fun and simulation feel, Pretend Cars Racing 2 brings more cars, more tracks, and more ways to race. Create and share custom circuits with the built-in Track Creator and Steam Workshop support, experience a dynamic day–night cycle designed for long multi-class events, and enjoy a long list of improvements across the board.

A refreshed physics approach makes the game instantly enjoyable from your very first laps—yet deeply rewarding as you improve. You’ll find yourself chasing that perfect lap time whether you’re racing AI, battling friends, or pushing for the top spot on the global leaderboards.

The game supports split-screen multiplayer so you can race against friends, locally or via the Internet even if they don't own a copy, through Steam's Let's Play Together!

CONTENT

The base game includes 37 tracks inspired by real-world circuits and original layouts, plus 7 car categories spanning multiple eras of motorsport—each demanding a different driving style.

TRACK CREATOR & CUSTOMIZATION

Alongside nearly 40 included tracks, you can expand the roster with your own creations or community-made circuits. The Track Creator is easy to use and fully integrated with Steam Workshop. You can also customize the names and looks of the entire driver grid to make every championship feel personal.

DAY–NIGHT CYCLE

Time progression during races adds fresh challenges. Let the hours pass naturally—or speed them up for faster transitions—to recreate night races and endurance-style events, even under the rain.

STORY MODE

Follow the journey of a young sim racer as he takes his first steps toward becoming a real racing driver.

From his early years to the challenges of professional motorsport, the story takes you through different stages of his life and introduces a variety of racing categories along the way.

UPDATED PHYSICS MODEL

The revised handling model improves steering, weight transfer, grip, and overall control while supporting FWD, RWD, and AWD cars.

Every car has its own character, bringing the game closer to a simulation without losing the fast, accessible feel that defines Pretend Cars Racing.

ENHANCED VISUAL EFFECTS

Racing feels more alive thanks to upgraded particle effects, improved audio, dynamic lighting, and persistent skid marks that leave a visible trace of the battles taking place on track.

From tire smoke and debris to changing lighting conditions, every race builds its own visual story.

Update notes for 1.0.20260906 - New AI

I've completely revamped the AI, it's now faster at higher strength and takes a more realistic racing line, which should make racing a lot more fun and challenging. All categories should benefit from this update, specially on tricky tracks (I'm looking at you COTA). Fixed: CTD bug in the workshop menu.

    Update notes for 1.0.20260903

Hi! This is the first update after 1.0, with added features and bug fixes from your reports. Thanks for all the feedback and fantastic reviews that you are sharing.I wanted to let you know that I'm focusing on improving the AI, as I tweaked it to avoid going off track on some tricky corners, it ended up being slow for really fast players. I've made some progress but it still needs a lot of testing in very different type of tracks so I don't make a step forward and two backwards. I should have news about this soon. If you want to test it out before everyone else, come by the Discord channel.ChangelogNew: you can increase headlight range for cars though the options menuFixed: AI leaves more space for the player when running side by side (this decreases with AI difficulty)Renamed Career Mode to Story Mode as it was generating some confusions (sorry, English is not my native language)Fixed: CTF bug with custom championships when using user made tracks
