Developer Diary: The Grid Remembers
Developer Diary: The Grid Remembers Greetings, Circuit Riders. A race ends. The dust settles. The wrecks are dragged off the sand and sold for scrap. And somewhere in the encampment, a driver you put through a wall is sitting in the dark, learning your name. Today we open the ledger on the Disposition System — the machinery that decides how every rider on the Circuit feels about you, and what they are willing to do about it. The heretics are no longer scenery. They remember. Feature 01 — The Dossier Function: Reputation & Memory | Doctrine: Nothing Is Forgotten Every rider on the Circuit keeps a file on you, and of each other. That reputation can sour into a Grudge, harden into an Enemy, or go all the way to Vendetta. The other way, it can grow into something Friendly, then an Ally, and — if you bleed for someone long enough — Bound by Blood. You will see it on their dossiers. You will hear it in the messages that land in your inbox. And you will feel it when someone you crossed decides not to wait for the start lights. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45121801/5a5004ea2b1f4e66e1e8a79ac0e30f0fbb4e6db6.png A snowballs chance in hell Kill the same driver often enough and it becomes personal. Get caught sabotaging a rival's rig and they will know it was you. Fail a contract and the person who hired you will remember that you took the job and left them hanging. Finish it, and you have made a friend — and an enemy of whoever you were sent after. Those moments stick. A dossier is not just stats and a mugshot. It is a record of what you did to them: It's Personal. Sneaky. Hired Gun. Read enough of them and you can reconstruct a season of bad blood from the marks alone. The grid has its own wars You are not the only person anyone cares about. NPC drivers feud with each other. When one of them kills another, that death does not vanish into the results. The killer's standing with the victim drops. Anyone who already wanted the deceased gone may take it as a favour. In the wastes, the enemy...Read full article on Community Announcements (jimmyUCGUP)AnnouncementsOfficial
New war machines enter Deaths Circuit
Developer Diary - War Machines of Death's CircuitDeveloper Diary: War Machines of Death's Circuit Greetings, Circuit Riders. The wasteland expands, and with it, the need for new war machines blessed by the machine spirit. Today we pull back the iron curtain on three vehicles that will soon grace the vendor's lot. From raw newcomer iron to a beast of pure velocity, each chassis has been forged with a distinct doctrine of destruction. Here's what's coming — straight from the workshop. War Machine 01 — The RaiderClass: Light Combat Chassis | Doctrine: Evasion & Entryhttps://clan.fastly.steamstatic.com/images/45121801/a14a24d930d705a9578a309876620eeb30732145.png The Raider is where every circuit rider earns their calluses. Don't let the battered frame and modest profile fool you — this machine was built to survive on wits, not weight. Its compact body carves through tight corners like a blade through cloth, making it the most responsive chassis on the Circuit when the road twists and narrows. It won't win a straight drag race and it won't absorb a broadside from a heavier bruiser. The Raider's frame is light by design — durability and raw firepower were traded for something more valuable to the right rider: predictability. No terrifying torque to wrestle, no punishing top speed that punishes a mistimed blink. The machine spirit here is calm, cooperative, and quick to forgive. "The weak do not last in Death's Circuit. The Raider does not ask you to be strong — it asks you to be sharp. Survive long enough and the strong become prey." Particle physics feature
Make destruction fun againCombat and damage- Particle projectiles now apply damage exactly at the visible impact point.- High‑speed shots remain reliable; vehicles won’t “run into” their own fire.Impact visuals- Weapon‑specific decals appear on hit: - Machine gun: bullet holes - Plasma rifle: plasma scorch - Nail gun: puncture marksDecal lifetime and performance- Impact decals fade out smoothly over time.- Decals are pooled and recycled; a per‑vehicle cap keeps performance steady by replacing the oldest mark first.- Only the active weapon’s projectile VFX is enabled; unused variants are disabled automatically.Gameplay feel- Hit effects and damage are now tightly synchronized, making impacts feel precise, responsive, and readable.- Incoming fire and explosions now shove vehicles realistically: bullets deliver a sharp jolt in the shot’s direction, while land mines blast outward, pushing and sometimes spinning targets. Powerful hits can bump you off the racing line—brace, counter‑steer, and use the recoil to your advantage. Or knock the opposition of the track with a well placed plasma round forcing the vehicle to over-steer.Read full article on Community Announcements (jimmyUCGUP)
