  Entering Nomori's final development stage

  Hey everyone! Let me give you a development update on Nomori.I don't have that many things to report. We're working steadily on finishing the game. The final stage feels like a near-endless marathon of going through levels one by one, adjusting checkpoints, directing cutscene camera shots, matching facial expressions to dialogue lines, preventing sequence-breaking of the story, testing save states, etc. You really feel the scope of your game at this point. After playtesting, iterating and cutting 6 levels because they weren't interesting or fun enough, we've ended up with 42 levels in the final game. That's 2 more than we planned to have 3 years ago, and I'm pretty proud of us for hitting so close to the mark. I believe there are still many puzzles in the possiblity space of Nomori, but we have to draw the line for our first game somewhere.That said, we still want to playtest changes we've made to some levels. There will be a final playtest soon-ish, which will be organised in our Discord.I want to include in this post the new that the Nomori demo is now available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S! It's our first time releasing something on console, and it's been an interesting journey. Nomori has some many cool but complex shader effects that needed so much optimization to run properly on consoles. We learned a lot and were able to cut memory consumption nearly through half.   Patch Notes for Nomori Demo up to 0.1.56

  0.1.56Reworked the character Blobshadow to help with platforming. Before the drop shadow did not work on grass, which is a large part of the game.Also added blobshadows to Kodama and Ponta making them a lot more grounded in the world.Audiofixes for certain hardware. Before some people experienced jitters in the audio when too many audio sources played at once. We made adjustments to the amount of streamable sources and should now be less of an issue.Reworked the character dialogue camera framer. In the game you can have conversation from different angles sometimes leading to awkward camera angles. We have reworked this system and these conversations should now look a lot more natural.Made fixes to the localization system sometimes not localizing all the buttons in the menu. This should now be fixed.0.1.55Added intro songs when entering certain levels depending on mood and seasons. Updated the visuals for the Yuki conversation rocks making them look more distinct from the rest of the geometry.Added localized Sprites for the game title in the main menu for Korean, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese.Made fixes to certain lighting elements that cause flickering when going through portals.0.1.54Fixed a bug where the first Kodama meet dialogue would also happen when talking the first Kodama you interact with is not in the same orientation as you. Now it plays the correct wrong orientation dialogue.Made Audio adjustments to when certain level music would trigger.0.1.53Made geometry adjustment to the bounce crossing in Arrival, making the jump easier and helping guide the player better where to go.Made it so regardless of which Kodama you rescue first it plays the Kodama introduction dialogue.Fixed a bug where the Reset introduction UI would stick on the second playthrough.Made French Language selection accessible while using a controller.Added better camera angles related to important information in conversations.
