    What's Next? | Sneak Peak

What's Next? | Sneak Peak Hey all - Tom here! It's been a little while since our last update, so I thought it's time to let you know what we've been up to. Don't worry - it's all good news! Firstly, I'd like to say a massive thanks to everyone that has bought and supported ROVA so far. It means a lot, and there's been plenty of feedback to keep us busy (which is great)! So What Have We Been Doing?Apart from solving a bunch of bugs, we've put a lot of energy into optimisation. The Chunking System has had another massive overhaul. We needed better support for caves, which made the Chunking System our priority. Originally, objects on the surface would be loaded in at the same time as the cave systems, which caused framerate issues for some players.I can happily say the new system works and has removed most framerate issues players experienced in certain locations! ːsteamhappyːWe're currently ironing out some asset 'pop-in' this new system has created, but this should be cleaned up soon.Sneak Peak - Crystal Caves Content UpdateIt's not just all bug fixes and optimisations. We've also been working on the next content update, featuring a bunch of quests and things to do. Most content for this update is based around the Crystal Caves.I don't want to spoil too much, so here's a vague (Work In Progress) screenshot. That's all for now. We look forward to sharing more with you soon!

Feedback Fixes Update | V0.6.2 Release

Feedback Fixes Update | V0.6.2 Release Hey all - Tom here! ROVA has been out for a couple of days now, and wow... what a response! It's been amazing to see so many people enjoy the game, and we are so thankful for everyone that has supported us.We have compiled a priority list of fixes / changes based on your feedback. You will see these changes over the following weeks as we improve and expand the game. This update primarily aims to address one priority issue (with a few other fixes sprinkled in). What's Changed? As with any Early Access release, there have been a few issues that needed an urgent fix.The Previous Patch (V0.6.1) - Launch issues Fixed In V0.6.1 we resolved some launch issues. If the game won't launch for you, updating should fix it. I'm repeating this information here to ensure it reaches anyone who missed the update. This Update (V0.6.2)The most glaring issue impacting gameplay for some players is a ridiculously high framerate on some GPU's. This is the main reason for this update.Added VSYNC (enabled by default), which caps framerate to your monitor's max refresh rate. You can find this setting under GRAPHICS, in the options menu.In a future update we will add a framerate cap as an alternative to VSYNC to give you more control. VYSNC was the fastest option to release first. Other ChangesReduced the paint particle effect time to 0.4 seconds when changing rover colour Minor optimisations, setting various static objects to staticSpelling / Dialogue correctionsAdded wind effects to some plantsAdjusted various object positions for easier photography Community Feedback As always, community feedback has played a really important role in ROVA's development. Your support means the world to us🪐 If you do have any future feedback, the best place to share it is in the steam community forums.Feel free to share your in-game photos with any of our socials - We'd love to see what you discover!

ROVA DEMO | V0.5.2 Release | Feedback Update + Release Date

V0.5.2 Feedback Update + Release Date Hey all - Tom here! Steam Next Fest has come to end, and with it came your always appreciated feedback. We've taken that on board, which has resulted in this update :D !Early Access Announcement TrailerBefore delving deeper, I ought to mention we revealed ROVA's Early Access release date trailer as part of 'Clemmy's Best Indie Games Spring Showcase 2026' ! You can check out the Release Date Trailer, here:We're working hard towards the Early Access release, which if I'm being totally honest.. is a terrifying thought (although very exciting) ! The Update : V0.5.2So what's new in this update?Without delving into details about every small bug, there were a few main issues we sought address in this update.Living Quarters BuildingMany of you noted that the Living Quarters building was too small to navigate. I massively agree - it was cramped, the camera got caught and it was generally just a struggle. Although I maintain it was a very pretty building inside ;)We tried a few different approaches, eventually settling on a complete redesign. Introducing: The Living PodsThese are larger, modular pods designed to be easily expanded. New colonists join the colony? No problem, add a pod. You get the idea,We tried to maintain the core features of the original building, whilst creating somewhere far easier to navigate. There is plenty of space to drive around, as well as extra room for colonists to move past you. You'll also notice the camera is much closer to the ROVA whilst inside buildings now. I've also made turning much tighter, so that interior driving is smooth and feels good. Let me know what you think!Colonist Pathfinding / AIThis leads on nicely to another change - Colonist AI improvements.Colonists had a habit of getting stuck on each other, which kind of looked like they were having a little kiss. Although somewhat funny at times, it did get in the way for most players. I've updated colonist pathfinding so they know to avoid each ot...
