Embark on an action-packed adventure in GONZO VR, an indie game from studiopirat. Navigate the complex web of a conspiracy involving cults, aliens, and nukes by sneaking past or battling foes, all while gathering evidence and modifying weapons for your survival.

About this game

Armed with a camera and a slingshot, you set out to investigate a tip from your conspiracy theorist buddy -- and wind up uncovering an absurd plot that takes you to nightclubs, Masonic Lodges, dungeons, Area 51, a Titan-II missile silo and THE MOON.

GONZO is a made-for-VR stealth game modeled on classics of the "tactical espionage" genre, lovingly developed by two brothers. Explore a variety of environments in a PSX-inspired artstyle with your two primary tools: a camera and a slingshot -- as well as a variety of weapons and attachments you can find along the way. As you sneak (or brazenly shoot) through 13 levels, take a moment to enjoy the original soundtrack by electronic artist Stress Actual.

Point and Click!

Your camera isn't just for gathering evidence -- photograph guards to mark their position and help plan your route as you navigate each level and try to avoid detection. Or hold your camera around corners and check your wrist display to scope out the scene without giving away your position!

Heavy Lifting Warning

Drag the bodies of dead or knocked-out guards somewhere more private to keep them from being discovered and tripping an alarm!

Something for the gun enthusiasts

Grip weapons with both hands for stability and aim, eject and load magazines and perform tactical reloads to ensure you never get caught with your pants down, cycle the slide to load the chamber and watch shells eject as you go! Find new weapons and attachments as you progress to help you stay silent and accurate.

Listen for the click..

Crack dial and keypad safes to find new equipment and restock your supplies as you go -- there's no shop and no airdrop support, you're on your own. We've been told a lot of people keep their keypad codes stored on their computers, maybe check there?

*clack* *clack* "I'm in."

Access computers to help uncover what the hell is actually going on! You may find some useful information too, and while you're at it -- what does that button do?

Hide, Hide, Hide!

Hide behind corners, under desks, and in vents and lockers to avoid detection by enemies. Keep an eye out for security cameras -- though they do look pretty fragile..

GONZO is designed from the start to give you an immersive, challenging and fun stealth experience that takes full advantage of room-scale VR. Physically duck and hide, crouch and crawl to avoid detection, aim guns and feel the satisfying stretch of your trusty slingshot's elastic as you pull, aim and fire marbles straight into your enemies' heads.

Inspired by the classics, GONZO puts you directly into a world of conspiracy and stealth (though, plenty of room for run-and-gun if that's your style) -- it's up to you to see how deep this thing really goes..

Major Bug-Squashing, Balance Improvements & More!

GONZO version 1.1.0 is out now, with a slew of bug-fixes, improved AI, reworked balance for difficulty where you want it and breathing room where you need it. We really appreciate everyone who supported the game early on and want to bring some polish to GONZO for players old and new. While a large focus is on fixing bugs and improving the AI, we're very excited about the balance improvements as well. Our goal is to make Guards more intelligent and more formidable and encourage good stealth gameplay, while still giving you the option to run-and-gun when you want to. We've also reworked some of the patrols and scenarios to ensure you're never stuck in an unfair, unstealthable situation. Check out everything that changed below:AI ImprovementsGuards will now fan-out and properly search for the player rather than randomly roam in radiusIncreased Guards' vertical field of view to address detection issues (stairs, hills, etc.)Increased Guards' corpse detection distance to address immersion-breaking "ignorance"Increased Guards' vision detection speed when player is very close -- making good stealth a higher priority but still allowing time to peekFixed Guards running straight to the player during alarms -- Guards will now converge to the player's last seen position and fan-out to searchRemoved some Guards and reworked Guard paths to improve unnecessarily difficult or complex scenariosFixed bulky hitboxes that caused NPCs to sometimes not register a headshot/knockoutDecreased Guards' initial attack delay and increased attack frequencyAlarm duration is reset whenever a Guard detects the playerFixed Guards and non-combat NPCs like Scientists fleeing toward the playerFurther reduced Cultists' view distance when robes disguise is equippedReduced view distance of non-combat NPCs like ScientistsBalance & Quality of LifeReduced player walk speed slightlyAdded a vignette when player is hidden (i.e. in shadows, lockers, vents, etc.)Camera's default zoom has increased and now simply to...

    Locomotion Update Released!

GONZO version 1.0.2 is out now, with new locomotion settings that some players have been requesting! This update gives you more control over how you move around and play the game, and makes both seated and roomscale play more comfortable: Adds a new “Settings” menu in the main menu Adds a setting to change between controller-oriented (default) and head-oriented movement. In controller-oriented, your joystick movement is relative to the direction you point the controller. In head-oriented, your joystick movement is relative to the direction you’re looking. Adds a setting to enable smooth turning. When smooth turning is off (default), rotating happens in 45 degree increments. When smooth turning is on, you smoothly rotate for as long as you hold the turn button. Adds a crouch toggle feature: pushing down on the joystick (center of trackpad for Vive) will toggle crouching, making you shorter and harder to detect. You can still physically crouch, but this should make seated play a more comfortable option (or play standing and don't worry about doing squats!) Thanks again to everyone that has been playing and reaching out with suggestions and bug reports. We'll be continuing to monitor our Steam Community and have also set up a Discord server which you can join here: https://discord.gg/Y58wX3kq Please feel free to post any bug reports or suggestions to our Community page or our Discord!
