About this game
Whispers of the Void is a VR, first-person, story-rich sci-fi adventure set in a futuristic, mysterious galaxy. Designed to maximize immersion, the game blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and intense combat with swordplay and physics-based interactions — all woven into a deeply narrative experience. You are a relic hunter, a lone explorer drawn to the forgotten edges of space. Summoned by an old ally to retrieve an ancient artifact from the desert world Arena, you soon uncover a conspiracy that spans civilizations and threatens the fate of the galaxy. What begins as a mission becomes a descent into the secrets of an alien, atmospheric world — where every discovery has consequences.
As you pilot your spaceship through uncharted asteroid belts, your mission becomes more than a simple retrieval. Engage in VR combat that features gunplay and sword fighting, solve intricate puzzles, and unlock the secrets of the resource Edem and the ancient civilizations that once warred over it. In Whispers of the Void, each discovery offers a piece of the puzzle that could stitch the galaxy back together — or tear it apart.
The Galactic Confederation has kept a tenuous peace between the galaxy’s three dominant civilizations. Yet its diplomacy failed to avert a war over the galaxy’s most crucial resource: a substance called Edem. Soon, the conflict inevitably focused on the only known source of Edem in the galaxy: a lone planet in the Yarus system. However, the climactic battle reached a dramatic conclusion when the planet imploded, annihilating thousands of ships and creating a vast, all-consuming void in its stead. With the great warring fleets in retreat, the Yarus system stood abandoned. And thus began the scarcity of Edem, transforming it from an abundant resource to the rarest in the galaxy, found only in the debris circling the void — an aftermath of what historians would later call the Great Collapse of the Three Pillars…

PCVR vs Meta Quest 3: A Major Optimization Milestone
Today we are sharing an important technical milestone for Whispers of the Void.We have completed a native standalone port of the entire public Steam demo for Meta Quest 3 and prepared a direct side-by-side comparison with the current PCVR build.Our goal was not simply to make the game run without a PC. We wanted to preserve the atmosphere, visual identity, gameplay structure, physical VR interactions, environmental puzzles, combat, and spacecraft sequences of the original PCVR experience while adapting the project to standalone hardware.The complete Quest 3 demo port includes:• The full playable route of the public Steam demo• Spacecraft controls and flight sequences• Physical VR interactions and climbing• Environmental puzzles• Weapons, enemies, and combat encounters• Portals, holograms, crystals, lasers, and other visual effects• The same core progression and gameplay structure as the PCVR versionReaching this point required extensive optimization work across rendering, materials, lighting, visual effects, environment complexity, memory usage, and overall performance.The experience, tools, and technical solutions developed during the port will also inform future optimization work across the full game, including the continued development of the PCVR version.The PCVR build shown in the comparison remains our visual benchmark. It will not be reduced to match the standalone version. Our aim is to make Whispers of the Void more scalable and stable across different VR hardware while preserving the identity of the original experience.The Meta Quest 3 version shown in the video is still a work-in-progress development build.
