Embark on a thrilling journey through Dalton's Dinos, where fast reflexes and daring parkour moves are key to survival. Navigate treacherous terrain as you uncover the sinister secrets hiding in this old Route 66 attraction.

About this game

YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE

Something is very wrong at Dalton’s Dinos, the once must-see Route 66 roadside attraction baking under the New Mexico sun. The staff have vanished, but a mysterious voice on the telephone you find in the attraction begs you for help to find a missing child.

You’d leave… if your car hadn’t died miles from anywhere. It’s 1992. No cell phones. No rideshares. No help coming, and you’ll soon find that you are not alone inside the attraction.

You’ll encounter monstrous creatures that will hunt, chase, and torment you. Take a moment to catch your breath, it may be your last.

RUN. CLIMB. SURVIVE.

Terrible Lizards blends horror with first‑person parkour, creating a relentless chase experience that feels intuitive to learn and has a lot to master.

You’ll be hunted by creatures that stalk the abandoned dino depot. They shamble and charge toward you, forcing you to run, jump, climb, wall run, bounce, and slide to survive. There are no weapons except your wits.

FEATURES

  • Horror Meets Parkour: Outrun unstoppable creatures using fluid, momentum‑driven movement.

  • A Mystery Buried: Explore this crumbling roadside attraction and discover the nightmares below it.

  • No Weapons: Outsmart and outmaneuver your pursuers, combat is not an option.

    Game Design | Dalton's Devlogs #2

Hello paleo pals! We are hard at work getting Dalton's Dinos ready for you to visit, but the doors aren't quite ready to open just yet. In the second edition of our devlogs, learn more about the origins of Terrible Lizards - where it came from and what inspired it.You can expect a new entry every month or so, where we'll talk to our dev team and share insights, concepts, and other tidbits to satisfy your curiosity before Terrible Lizards launches soon™. Without any further ado, let's chat with John of JT Music about the origins of this toothy adventure.(Also, have you wishlisted the game yet? Be sure to click that button so you don't miss our launch!)Where did the idea for Terrible Lizards come from? The idea for Terrible Lizards actually came together from two different directions.= The first was simply that making a game had always been a dream of ours. At JT Music, we've spent over a decade creating songs inspired by video games, but we've also always looked for ways to branch out creatively. Whether it's our live event, documentaries, or other side projects, we enjoy building things that challenge us. A game was always at the top of that list, and as lifelong gamers, we felt it was the most exciting creative leap we could make. From there, we started asking ourselves what kind of horror game we wanted to build. We loved the idea of taking something familiar and nostalgic, then twisting it into something unsettling. Roadside attractions along Route 66 felt like the perfect setting. They have this uniquely American charm that's equal parts fascinating and eerie, especially when you imagine one sitting alone in the middle of nowhere. Once we had that, the dinosaur theme came naturally. Jurassic Park was a huge part of our childhood, and dinosaurs capture that same sense of wonder that so many kids grow up with. They also gave us the opportunity to create monsters that feel familiar at first glance but become something much darker as the game unfolds. The gameplay sid...

    Creature Design | Dalton's Devlogs #1

Hello paleo pals! We are hard at work getting Dalton's Dinos ready for you to visit, but the doors aren't quite ready to open just yet. We've cooked up a closer look at the dangerous denizens that will cross your path, though, in our very first developer's log! You can expect to see a new entry every month or so, where we'll be talking to our dev team and sharing insights, concepts, and other informational tidbits to satisfy your curiosity before Terrible Lizards launches soon™. Without any further ado, let's learn about how terrible these lizards really are. (Also, have you wishlisted the game yet? Be sure to click that button so you don't miss our launch!)When & how did you first decide that the monsters had to be… more than just dinosaurs?Pretty early on, we knew we wanted the dinosaurs to be monstrous. Jurassic Park has already explored Dinosaurs as both animals and monsters, and we've seen that a lot in Dino media since. We wanted to take the cool, neat factor of dinos and put a horror twist on them. Also, the game takes place underground for a lot of it, so we needed to create monsters that were also cave-dwelling beasts. What makes for good horror creature design? How do you make something universally scary or creepy? We worked with RJ Palmer on the principal creature design, and he talks about it in a Q&A video we did with him. He shares how striking a balance between the familiar and the disconcerting is key to creating an unsettling, scary creature. Taking that idea even further is exploring novelty within the familiar. The monsters were designed so that they could exist in our world. Specifically, using real-world inspirations in key design elements of the monsters. For example, taking inspiration from the porous texture of a coral reef skeleton for The Hybrid’s ribcage. What is the process for the design of a creature? From concept to in-game, how many people does it pass through? We started the dino design process with moodboards. After some internal brains...
