In Deity's Domain, you'll build your power by guiding a personal pet companion on a Norse island. Compete with other gods for supremacy while deciding the fate of your faithful followers through strategic choices.
About this game
In Deity's Domain, you play as a young deity born from the union of Freya's sweat and Forseti's blood during the war between the Aesir and Vanir. Your goal is to reach Asgard and claim your place among the major deities. Build and manage a civilization on a mystical island, earning the faith of your followers and competing against other supernatural forces in a world inspired by Norse mythology.
Divine Freedom:
Choose how to rule: through love or fear. Every decision you make influences your appearance and the world around you. If you perform good deeds, your hand emits light and your island thrives with lush plants and colorful flowers. If you opt for evil acts, your appearance becomes skeletal, and your domain darkens, withering the land and spreading terror. Your moral alignment not only alters the environment but also affects interactions with other gods and your followers.

Your Creature:
The Creature is your manifestation on Earth—a divine wolf descendant of Fenrir gifted by Freya. Watch your Creature grow from a pup to an adult, shaping its behavior through praise and reprimand. Teach the Creature how to act: it can protect your followers, help gather resources, or instill fear in your enemies. Each of its actions reflects your choices, making it a powerful and faithful ally in your divine ascent.

Deep Interaction:
Use your Divine Hand to interact directly with the world. Shape the terrain, move objects, and manipulate the fate of mortals. Draw runes on the ground to cast miracles that alter the course of events: unleash beneficial rains, grow forests, or provoke devastating calamities. Each miracle requires Power, obtained through the faith of your followers and the mysterious energies of the island.

Mysteries of the Island:
The island you rule is rich in secrets and wonders. At its center stands a sapling of Yggdrasil, the cosmic tree, which you can protect or exploit to gain additional Power. Explore ancient caves, discover hidden runes, and interact with entities like Hel and the Norns. Use the Thread of the Norns to anticipate your opponents' moves and plan your actions. Each discovery adds depth to your adventure, offering unique challenges and rewards.
Competition Among Deities:
You're not the only one seeking glory. Other deities compete for the mortals' faith. Defend your island from enemy attacks, sabotage their plans, and employ strategies to convert their followers to your cause. Every citizen can change their faith based on divine actions that influence their life, making the competition intense and strategic.

Building and Management:
Build your capital and develop a prosperous society. Assign roles to citizens—such as farmers, woodcutters, priests, and explorers—to grow and sustain your civilization. Manage vital resources like food, wood, and stone, carefully planning to meet the population's needs. Every economic and social decision impacts the well-being of your followers and their faith in you, directly influencing your divine ascent.

A Living and Mythological World:
Experience the passing of seasons and years, with day and night cycles that affect the citizens' activities. Interact with deities like Freya, Loki, and Odin, each with their own personality and agenda. Explore the depths of Norse mythology, unveiling secrets and intertwining your destiny with that of the gods. Your actions write the history of mortals and shape the fate of the world.
Reach Asgard and claim your place among the major deities. The fate of mankind is in your hands: will you be a loved or feared god?

Return to the Origins
Hello everyone, first of all I want to apologize for the long silence. These past months have been quite unusual, split between a very demanding work period and another side project that has been doing well. This silence was due to my own indecision and a change of direction for Deity’s Domain, because the way the game was heading no longer satisfied me. The game was moving toward a structure that was too story driven and not “free” enough compared to what I originally had in mind. Deity’s Domain started with the idea of being a complete sandbox, but the feeling when playing was not that of being a deity, more like a babysitter managing their city. So I decided to start over. I know many of you may not like this, but since I am developing Deity’s in my free time and for personal enjoyment, I did not want to continue with something that would have been more of a burden than a passion. For sure, I would not have reached the kind of result I had envisioned from the very beginning. If you are wondering what I am aiming for with this new beginning and what will remain from what we have seen, I will try to give you a vision of the direction I would like to take. I am aiming for a pure sandbox. To give the true powers of a deity, you need an entire world, a world that can be shaped from its very beginning, a world where you can act in total freedom: creating mountains, raising and lowering sea levels, or draining them down to the abyss. I want you to be the ones to create forests, resources, and life. I want the player to see cities being born and growing, to be able to wipe out all forms of life and start again, or to nurture them and make them prosper, whether simply for the pleasure of seeing them destroyed or of watching what they created flourish. So there will be less direct city management than before, but management more focused on the whole and on the balance of the world’s ecosystem. The giant hand you are used to seeing in Deity’s will remain and move as it always...Read full article on Community Announcements (Unlikely)AnnouncementsOfficial
A Few Updates for a Quiet June
Hello, little deities! It’s been an incredibly busy month. At work I moved to a new department, and most of my mental energy went into learning the ins and outs of game-AI (not the kind everyone’s talking about lately, but the AI in videogames). On top of that, my personal life filled up fast with trips and summer activities I really needed. Here’s what’s new:Feedback implementation: I’ve rolled out several changes based on your last round of feedback.New features from testing: A handful of essential features surfaced during our most recent tests—but so far that’s only about 30% of what I hoped to accomplish. I’ll be dedicating this final week of June exclusively to squashing bugs. Most of these updates pave the way for a “Divine Vision Mode,” letting you flip into an all-seeing view that shows every citizen’s faith level, current tasks, and more.I’ve decided to skip a formal June devlog, but don’t worry, updates will still drop in July and August. Testing will pick back up after the summer break so I can fully recharge and come back stronger.Be good, and I’ll see you in the next update! 😉Read full article on Community Announcements (Unlikely)AnnouncementsOfficial
Next Steps
Hello, deities! (Heilà Phil) I’d like to thank everyone who took part in testing the demo your feedback, bug reports, and gameplay input have been incredibly helpful. It’s always magical to see someone else playing what I’m creating, and that magic is thanks in large part to you. You’ve uncovered a whole bunch of new bugs, so it’s back to work to fix them all. But thanks to some of you, we’ve also identified improvements that will make the game experience easier to use and understand. There isn’t much to report for this month it was mostly focused on preparing the build and gathering feedback. In June, I’ll be tackling the bugs you found, expanding the tutorials to cover the less obvious areas of the game, and completing the secondary features. After that, I’ll shift my attention to game balance, which was completely sidelined in this demo. The next round of tests will be specifically aimed at balancing and enhancing the sense of progression within the game. That means the next tests likely won’t reopen until the second half of July. Participation will, of course, be open to everyone who’s been involved so far and to others who haven’t yet received an access key. Thanks again to you all see you in the next devlog! ;)Read full article on Community Announcements (Unlikely)AnnouncementsOfficial
Closed playtests for the demo have started!
Hey everyone! I've reopened playtesting for the Deity's Domain demo. If you’d like to participate, just send an email to: marketing@unlikelygs.com Please include the following three things in your email: The hardware specs of the PC you’ll be testing on Your Discord nickname Whether you’re available to record your first gameplay session (no audio or voiceover) and share the video with me via Discord. This isn’t mandatory but is greatly appreciated, as it would really help me improve the game. If you’re selected for the test, I’ll send you a Steam key that grants access to this and all future tests. What will you be testing? The early game tutorials up to what will be the end of the demo, which is planned for release here on Steam later this year. The demo lasts about 30 minutes to 1 hour. What’s the purpose of this playtest? The goal is to assess the overall stability of the game. I want to identify any major blocking bugs and see whether the tutorials are clear and easy to follow. So is the demo almost ready? Not quite. The game isn’t balanced yet, especially when it comes to Food and Power mechanics. The current demo is missing many minor features, contains various minor to medium bugs, has very few sound effects and visual effects, and only about 25% of the planned miracles (both for the player and the enemies) are available. There’s just one side quest at the moment. Will there be future opportunities for those who aren't selected? Yes. Everyone who sends an email will be added to a list and considered for future tests. I’ll also make announcements when new testing phases begin. And even if you're never selected, you’ll still be able to play the demo once it releases publicly (Q4 2025). How long will the playtest be available? The game will be available to play until May 25th. After that, access will be closed. If too many major bugs show up, I may need to shut it down earlier. Why is access granted via email, and what’s the gameplay video for? Steam’s built-in ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Unlikely)AnnouncementsOfficial
Deity's Domain - Devlog 10 - UI rework, Road system polishing and bugfixing!
Here we are again for our monthly update. April has flown by it was a month of many highs and lows, but nonetheless full of achievements for Deity’s. Last month, I mentioned a few small changes I wanted to make to player progression within the game. I went ahead and implemented them, and the new Faith-resource mechanic has proven very effective. This month, I applied another series of changes that I personally felt were essential in a game like this. From the very start of development, my goal was to create a game without a permanent on-screen UI. However, during development that principle wasn’t maintained mostly because quick solutions were needed to display essential information. So I took some time to revisit the UI and its usability in order to bring the game back in line with that original goal. I’m well on my way: most of the process is complete, though a few tweaks and decisions remain. I expect to finish these changes in May. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45051315/ddac32c3367001509b3203c5eb0e57dffbae3e33.png Now that information is scattered around the Island, I’ve also added a “fast travel” system accessed via a radial menu. After discovering points of interest or building specific structures that you’ll need to visit often (for example, the warehouse), the menu will show dedicated inputs to move you quickly to those locations. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45051315/bd63cc0be743a93fd926c68cd99f72816eaaaa4c.png Continuing the polishing work we began last month, I wrapped up the road-building system adding a much more elegant preview, implementing an actual construction cost, and fixing a large number of related bugs. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45051315/0fac5aba1be46c40a3520d3413e19658d09f1191.png But the biggest challenge these past weeks has been the pathfinding. Almost every tester reported citizens getting stuck or endlessly falling. I investigated thoroughly and discovered that, after a variable amount of time in the shipping build, pathfinding nodes weren’t always updating correctl...Read full article on Community Announcements (Unlikely)
