Scaredy Cat Development Pause: Release Date on Hold
Development Update Hey everyone, It’s not the update I hoped to share, but due to personal circumstances, all development on Scaredy Cat is currently on hold. The previously mentioned release window of June 2025 is no longer accurate, and a new date hasn’t been set. This decision wasn't made lightly, but it’s necessary. Creating this game with care, quality and authenticity takes stability and time - and right now, that means stepping away for a bit. Scaredy Cat is deeply personal, and I hope to return to it when it can get the focus it deserves. To everyone who playtested the demo, left feedback or helped shape the game in any way: thank you. Your thoughts, encouragement and belief in Scaredy Cat have truly kept it going through the hardest moments. It means so much that this weird, heartfelt, dark little game has found its people. Updates will be posted when development resumes. Henny will have to stay lonely for just a little bit longer. Our socials will be kept live, but quieter during this period: X: @aeiogames Threads: @aeiogames TikTok: @aeiogames YouTube: aeio_games Instagram: @aeiogames Bluesky: @aeiogames.bsky.social Sincerely, Mel 🖤Read full article on Community Announcements (melissa)Patch NotesOfficial

Mid-Summer Dev Updates for Scaredy Cat
Hi everyone, I'm excited to share the latest in Scaredy Cat's development! Since our May devlog, the focus has been on polishing and enhancing the demo content, which you'll have the opportunity to play shortly and definitely by the Steam Next Fest this October (14-21). Here's a breakdown of recent progress: ✨ Demo-Specific Enhancements - A thorough consistency pass on the quests featured in the demo, ensuring they all have proper progression, alerts, sounds and polish elements. (Internally, we've created a quest template and standardized process for new quest introductions - this makes it easier to spin up quests in-engine!) - Additional side quests have been introduced and refined for the demo, adding more depth to the world - More conditional dialogues for clue, puzzle and world objects, enhancing interactivity and narrative integration in the demo areas (Translation: For all you narrative nerds, you'll get different information from items depending at what stage you are in your playthrough.) - In general, the game has undergone a visual lift to prepare for the demo, including new art assets, light and shadow review, SFX, particles and interaction feedback - New audio elements have been added, including animal and interactable object sounds to bring the demo areas to life and provide more audio feedback - More cinematic flair introduced to support moments with strong narrative beats such as replaying a flashback - General updating of placeholder content such as characters, UI, draft dialogues {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44964289/6c067356e4eef29d0d7749e2296d46680c45ec31.jpg 🧩 Puzzle and Gameplay Improvements for the Demo - New puzzles have been added to one of the demo areas, increasing the variety of challenges players will face - The office puzzle has been tweaked and refined for a better player experience, with the aim of tutorializing some of the later gameplay you'll experience whilst pet-sitting for different owners 🐶 NPC and Pet Behavior in Demo Areas - After iterat...Read full article on Community Announcements (melissa)AnnouncementsOfficial
📌 Official Social Media Accounts
Hi everyone, There's currently a major Steam bug preventing devs from linking socials on both the store and developer pages. As a small indie dev, building a community around Scaredy Cat that spans different channels is important to us, so in the interim, I've listed out our presences below. For those wanting to follow Scaredy Cat's dev journey, updates about features, story and just random dev ramblings are sporadically shared on the below social accounts. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44964289/9ee21bad0b6c4defe15196a75ec63d18fec38faf.png X: @aeiogames Threads: @aeiogames TikTok: @aeiogames YouTube: aeio_games Instagram: @aeiogames Bluesky: @aeiogames.bsky.social Cheers, Mel 🖤Read full article on Community Announcements (melissa)
