    1.31 out now

We have fixed three minor bugs. - The last story in the new DLC did not work if you were on story 5 in the main game. (A weird bug that probably only a few of you have experienced). - If you played DLC 1 before playing DLC 2 (without shutting down the game), an incorrect interview was playing on the radio. - A wrong sound would play when you pressed B on a controller when you were on the cameras.

106 Fans' Ideas Turned into 8 Horror Stories

IN THE NEW FREE DLC, WE HAVE TURNED 106 FANS’ IDEAS INTO 8 HORROR STORIES! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/115f8e56d4fecd0bd61059ccbcabd9976e567749.gif Our goal was to include as many of your ideas in the game as possible. We read through over 600 suggestions, which took us many evenings. We did our best to understand how each idea would look in the game and whether it was possible to implement them based on how the game is built. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/124cde8e909bd7239226067af2f00ae89622251b.gif{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/7948e3035be97bf21f8e3bae7a7a4b4b8d450073.gif{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/93559f1561938e7f724d7761adadf3347aa642d2.gif{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/1ddde79b68e93ca86c6e9d7a20e67cdaa2fcfe1c.gif{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/2bb1a2ffddf61c0a653bf870a2536470d2e393a4.gif{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/43b327d0e6756f2afefb9e6039bf36320b0f7ad5.gif {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/de4cf6a138ba21c16238403c864f6335d4fef05e.jpg Curious to know whose idea made it into the game? Here's a screenshot of the DLC’s credits. (At the top, we're animated, applauding everyone whose idea was included.) We've made a short video where we talk about the process of creating this free DLC: WE SELECTED IDEAS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: 1. Ideas we thought were scary, funny, beautiful, or unique. 2. We didn’t select ideas that were too similar to something we already had in the game. 3. We wanted to combine ideas from different people. (If we didn’t use your idea, it doesn’t mean it was a bad idea—it likely just didn’t fit within these three criteria.) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/e1f5c07514a2a69c40644b6dc069374387a631a9.gif It's been a lot of fun—and a lot of hard work—creating these 8 horror stories based on your ideas! We will now focus on our next game, Unsound Love, which you can wishlist here: Unsound Love If you'd like us to create more stories for Security: The Horrible Nights, let us know by writing a Steam review, sharing the game with others, and giving this post a thumbs u...

Getting ready for the new free DLC

We've updated the game to have it ready for the free DLC that will be released next week. There were some basic things in the game that we had to change in order to make some of your ideas for the new DLC. As a result, we may have missed a new bug that could occur in the main game. So please report in our bug thread if a new bug has suddenly appeared. We very much look forward to you trying out the 8 new stories based on fan ideas. They will be found under ‘More Stories’ in the main menu. Be sure to download the new free DLC on Steam. ;)

We won the award for BEST NARRATIVE!

We won the award for BEST NARRATIVE at Spilprisen 2025 (the Danish game award show)! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44981917/1fd6b43679c0a822e21f165d99350917af8178d1.jpg We were also nominated for: Best Game Design, Best Audio, Best Visuals and Game of The Year. We were very pleased to win an award, and were especially happy that it was BEST NARRATIVE, because it's not just about the written story, but how it's conveyed. Everyone on the team has therefore been an important part of this, as we consist of John (writer and designer), Maria (art and animation) and Astrid (music composer). AND YES! IT WAS SUPER WEIRD TO HAVE TO GO UP AND RECEIVE AN AWARD IN A BIG HALL FULL OF PEOPLE! We would have become actors and not game developers if we felt comfortable on a stage with a lot of lights. ;) At the show itself, we met people from Playdead (Limbo, Inside), Geometric Interactive (Cocoon), Triband (WHAT THE GOLF?) and Ghost Ship Games (Deep Rock Galactic). They were all super nice and shared some stories from their own productions. If you've played our game, Anglerfish, these are some of the Danish gaming companies that we parodied at the start of the game. So, it was cool to talk to them for real, and to hear from one of them that they had played Anglerfish and liked it. We didn't really expect any of them to ever play Anglerfish, so this person immediately became our new best friend! However, it was almost cooler to talk to some of the other small indie developers in our home country. For example, we met Quack People, who were nominated for Best Debut for their ‘The Duck Pond’, which is a cute little idle/clicker game you should probably click on if you're into that kind of games. :) We also spoke to the small indie team Guidelight Games, who won Game of the Year with SpellRogue. Although they snapped the award right under our noses, we thought they seemed like super nice guys and we have a lot of respect for all the hard work they put into making SpellRogue. If you're into deckbuil...
