About this game

"The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy. - Albert Camus"

Become Sisyphus and try to roll the boulder up the mountain. Numerous obstacles will hinder your progress. You can move using the arrow keys and adjust the direction in which you push the boulder with the left and right mouse buttons.

Features:

  • Of course, the boulder will always roll back down.
  • A variety of obstacles, including spikes, ice, scarecrows, bombs, and arrows, will obstruct your journey with the boulder.
  • Pay attention to the boulder's inertia. An abrupt change in direction to dodge obstacles may have irreversible consequences.
  • A selection of boulders is available. Earn new boulders as rewards for your efforts, including some that are significantly more difficult to move.

This game is an experience of the struggle of Sisyphus. It requires a great deal of patience for its slow-paced play.
In this game, even with mastery of the controls, you cannot move quickly.

The issue regarding the DMCA claim has been resolved.

(For context regarding the DMCA action, please refer to our previous post.) After the DMCA claim was filed, we reached out to inquire which part of The Game of Sisyphus allegedly used the music without permission. The DMCA responded to our request and forwarded our inquiry to the claimant. As a result, the DMCA action has been temporarily suspended while waiting for a response from the claimant. However, since our game does not include any unauthorized use of music, and we suspect the claim was not made by the original copyright holder, it is unlikely that the claimant will respond. We anticipate that the suspension will remain in effect indefinitely. We would like to express our gratitude to all the players who have shown concern for our situation. We do not use any music, art, or code without proper authorization, and we will continue to maintain a strong commitment to copyright compliance while developing quality games in the future. The Game of Sisyphus will continue to be sold as normal.

The Game of Sisyphus has received a DMCA notice.

Hello, dear players of The Game of Sisyphus. We recently received a DMCA copyright complaint claiming that we used a specific audio track without authorization. (Due to potential legal issues, we will not disclose the details of the audio track at this time, but we may reveal it if the situation escalates.) However, we want to clarify that The Game of Sisyphus does not contain the mentioned audio track. We have not found any music in the game that could be considered similar to the alleged track. We believe this DMCA notice was submitted by mistake, and we are currently addressing the issue. Unfortunately, DMCA has only given us one day to respond, which means there is a possibility that our Steam store page may be taken down. At The Game of Sisyphus, we respect the copyrights of all artists. All music in the game was either legally purchased or composed by our team’s composer. None of the music in the game was generated by AI. We will provide the sources of all the music used in our game below for transparency. - Main Theme(Game play) https://youtu.be/l-_OI5fD6ho - Ending Theme https://youtu.be/Z9XPl7rM0Mc?si=8mbjdg6X496I6rWp - Trailer and When the balls fall https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/audio/music/rpg-guitar-music-essentials-232128#description - Zeus appears https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/audio/ambient/ethereal-ambiance-music-pack-250173#description We hope this issue will be resolved soon. If our Steam page is taken down, we will post updates on Twitter. https://x.com/GameofSisyphus?t=2XNHj7UbpO7aWYcwdwhqbA&s=32 Thank you.
