Fight, Farm, Discover!

A prophetic dream beckons you to the vast world of Elyndra, where a ruthless Empire threatens many communities you'll defend. Uncover the truth and unravel the fate of this fantasy world by connecting with companions, fostering the local agriculture, and completing quests. You decide how you experience the world of Elyndra and save it from its evil foes!

You Decide

Are you ready to traverse this foreign land and face off against its hidden adversaries? Or would you prefer to support your community through farming crops and raising livestock? As Elyndra’s hero, you decide your playstyle. You can even do both!

A Driven Narrative

Call of Elyndra's expansive story centers on your completely unprepared hero as the prophesied one. Establish trust among your community by completing side quests around the village, using hints from the locals to discover the truth of the world around you.

Enjoy Farm Life

Don't feel like fighting? Try fishing, planting crops, tending to livestock, and crafting tools in your new home! The community needs a reliable farmer for their resources; will that be you?

Defeat Hordes of Enemies

Encounter loads of enemy types in various dungeons across Eyndra. Try your hand at close-range sword combat, or master your skills across long distances with a bow and arrow.

Inspiring Landscapes

Elyndra's village is merely the starting point for your journey. Dense forests, snowy peaks, and dewy marshlands await you; within them, local inhabitants are ready to share their stories, problems, and dreams. Build relationships with locals to earn their companionship. Each new ally offers power-ups for farming and combat.

Charming Characters

Face adversity alongside Ariadne and Kaelan, two vagabonds lured to Elyndra by a similar prophetic dream. Watch your companions grow and change as friends, fellow combatants, and valuable farmhands. Everyone has a story to tell... If you're willing to listen.

Your choices shape the fate of Elyndra. Will you answer the call?

    Devlog #6 - Combat

Combat is designed to feel fluid, responsive, and strategic. The core philosophy draws from classic swordplay, dodging, and the tactical use of the many weapon items you’ll acquire, with enough layered depth to keep things interesting. In the short clip below, you can see our WIP sword combat. In the video below, you can see the first glimpse of our dungeon system. Weapons are multi-functional; you can use them to defeat enemies, but also to solve puzzles.Ranged combat is also part of the mix, using the bow and other specialized weapons. A lock-on system helps you stay focused on enemies and land precision strikes. Light attacks are quick and reliable, while heavy charged attacks take longer to execute but deal more damage.Weapons are permanent parts of your arsenal. You won’t lose progress to breakage, but some gear, such as the bow, will wear down over time and need repair. If something breaks mid-fight, you’ll still have other combat items to rely on, forcing you to adapt your strategy until it’s replaced.

Switching to Godot & Changing The Art Style

Dear Elyndrans! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45307267/ac2037dfe4126ca7b211b63d1562b32c17858b7a.png We’ve decided to change the engine and the art style of Call of Elyndra. We will use Godot and combine pixel art sprites with 3D environments. This marks a huge shift for the game. We have more planned. Read on to find out. The Decision Ever since we announced the game, we’ve mostly seen enthusiasm and excitement. Call of Elyndra is a beautiful game. It’s also a lot of fun. Those who have played the demo know that already. Still, some have pointed out some things that could have been improved. The framerate, the game feel, the ease of work, possible quality enhancements… Plenty of room for improvement. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45307267/feb1d2d973ef43453187e03ca9eb106078fa16a2.jpg Our huge strength and also the biggest hindrance was the engine. RPG Maker is a phenomenal bit of software, and there are some masterpieces of gaming made with it. Some of our team members are also known in the RPG Maker community. At first, we wanted to make the most technically advanced game in the engine, which we may have achieved as RPG Maker makes up only about 30% of our code. Our team has long gone past the predetermined boundaries. We made the engine do things that it shouldn’t have been able to do. Alas, it still wasn’t enough. Some of the inherent solutions and limitations simply couldn’t be helped. Also, the looks, while quite beautiful, could have been improved upon. There are many games with stunning pixel art and we knew that we needed to shake it up a bit. The Engine Godot is becoming an increasingly popular choice for game studios. It has a bunch of features that indie teams, like us, are looking for. It’s free, open source, and allows for a huge degree of customisation and freedom. Luckily, our team is made up of very gifted individuals. They were able to either adapt or remake the vast majority of mechanics and code in the new engine. If the game is a success, we’ll also have an easier time...

    Devlog #5 - Farming

Hey Elyndrans! We’ve mostly talked about the game’s story and action in our devlogs so far, but this time we want to focus on something different - farming. Since you can choose between going on quests or working the land, let’s dive into the farming side of things! The Basics {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45307267/df3f49517b9e829beefe4bf32e0ff708bbc2fcc9.gif If you’ve tried the demo, you know that farming is pretty simple. Just follow these steps: Till the land to make tiles. Sow the seeds. Water them a few times. Harvest. Repeat. You’ve also got a few easy-to-use tools. To make farming smoother and more enjoyable, you don’t need to switch equipment every time you want to do something different. Just hit the space bar to get things done - except for watering, which demands clicking and holding your left mouse button. It's possible we'll change that in the future. You can sell what you harvest, and some items might also be useful for crafting. The Details Farming is pretty chill, and you can take it easy while making progress. But we know some of you want to be as efficient as possible, and there’s plenty to discover and optimize. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45307267/66ebea783825fd8e343325574a855a2ed8ce6907.gif First up, soil deterioration. If you overwork the land, it might get mushy or barren. Right now, this happens randomly, but we might tweak it based on your feedback. We’re also thinking about adding more depth to the system - like factoring in fertilizing, watering, and planting the same crop repeatedly. To fix mushy soil, just sprinkle some gypsum on it. It shouldn’t happen often during regular gameplay, but it’s good to keep some gypsum around just in case. This will help keep your fields looking nice and productive. Next, plant synergies. Just like in real gardening, some plants grow better together. For example, basil helps keep pests away from tomatoes, while tomatoes give basil shade and support. Radishes loosen the soil and attract bugs that eat pests on lettuce. We’re wo...

    Devlog #4 - Skill Trees

Dear Elyndrans! We’ve been working hard on the game for quite a while now, and we’ve realised there is a need for a huge change. More on that in the near future. Let’s talk about something that hasn’t been mentioned too much. Namely, some of the RPG progression systems we have in the game. How will the progression work? If you have played the demo, you have probably seen “mining levelled up!” pop-ups and the likes. Plenty of them, too. Fighting, harvesting, mining… They can be levelled up. How? We wanted to keep that system simple, so you simply have to fulfil these actions to gain experience and then level up. A bit like in Skyrim! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45307267/f5fbe84f7ce2da28c69b40a190bda832274ac4d2.png We decided to go in this direction because it seemed the most sensible and seamless. We hold our inspirations, like old JRPGs, dear to our hearts. Still, we know the industry and standards have progressed in gaming over the years. Allocating stat points doesn’t feel right in a game that’s in huge part an action game. Allocating stat points would be great in slower, turn-based games. Instead of going with Final Fantasy, though, we opted for a system similar to Skyrim’s. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45307267/67d8237778b64ce7fd5e7f66ec31a5a5a44c74c2.png Skill trees Call of Elyndra will be in huge part about expressing your playstyle. If you prioritise close-quarters combat, you’ll obviously want to level that part of your character’s skills up. However, making numbers higher doesn’t feel like it’s quite enough. This is why we will have skill trees. You will be able to unlock new abilities and perks that will make your character better at this particular activity. Simple as! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45307267/20eadf6d7dccb523761d1ae66e187667ef17bdde.png Rare earth minerals and all that The game will be filled with resources. Using the rarer ones will be, for the most part, optional. However, some will require better tools to source and harvest. How to come across those better tools? You...
