A time when simple, 2D games reigned supreme, and 8-bits were all you needed. A time before invasive tutorials, in-game ads, and prolonged cutscenes. A time when "pixel perfect" was the standard.
Super Sunny World is born out of those memories. It is a love-letter to the games that forged my youth. It is a pixel-perfect platformer inspired by the greatest platforming games of the 8-bit era. You will be running, jumping, bouncing off enemies, and searching for hidden secrets hidden in blocks and tunnels.
But Super Sunny World doesn’t just look retro, it IS retro! This is an actual NES game, 100% compatible with a real NES console, but playable via Steam on your PC.

Pixel Perfect Platforming
At it’s core, Super Sunny World is heavily inspired by platforming games of the 8-bit era, and stays true to that limited scope. Controls are extremely tight, and great care has been taken to make sure that while the game is “NES Hard”, it is always fair.

Super Sunny World Status Update - September 2026
Hello!I'm happy to announce that the PC version of Super Sunny World is officially complete!So why isn't it available on Steam yet?Picking a Release DateAt the moment, I'm essentially in a holding pattern while we finalize the release date for the physical NES version of the game.I had hoped to have the game in players' hands by now, but some changes on the physical distribution side have pushed our timeline back a bit. The good news is that I expect to have a firm release date locked in within the next couple of weeks.So what does that have to do with the Steam version?My goal is to launch both versions at the same time so that the experience feels fair to everyone. As an NES homebrew collector myself, I know how frustrating it can be to spend a significant amount of money on a physical release only to watch everyone else enjoy the digital version weeks or months earlier.I want to avoid that situation as much as possible.Steam Next FestDuring this downtime, I've been working on a short 5-level demo of Super Sunny World that I'll likely submit to Steam Next Fest.Which Next Fest I participate in will depend on the final release date. In an ideal world, the demo would hit Next Fest right as the full game launches, creating the biggest possible impact. Super Sunny World Status Update - July 2026
Hi everyone! I wanted to share a quick update on where things stand for both the PC (Steam) version and the NES version of Super Sunny World.Steam VersionDevelopment on the PC version is going extremely well. The game is now in an Alpha state — fully playable from start to finish — and includes roughly 30 achievements.The next major step is playtesting. I’m looking into Steam’s playtest setup now, and I expect that process to begin soon.Steam Technical DetailsCurious how an authentic NES game runs on Steam? The core game you play on PC is 99% identical to the NES version.
