Embark on daily quests in Wizarducks and the Lost Hat, casting spells to solve puzzles and petting your magic dog along the way. Befriend villagers as you help decorate their town in this indie action-adventure game.

About this game

Chances are you have asked yourself what it would be like to be a wizard. Or you might have seen a little duckling, and wondered what it would be like to be a duck. Here, you can experience what you likely never asked: what it's like to be both!

Of course that involves magic, having a dog, doing duck stuff, and pushing boulders and boxes because the mailing system is on a long holiday.

Things you will be able to do in Wizarducks and the Lost Hat:

  • Learn an array of magic spells you can learn for both combat and exploration

  • Explore a wide world with secrets to be found, things are not always what they seem.

  • Solve puzzles to solve, push blocks, bonk some bugs, and trigger the photic sneeze reflex (yes, that is a thing) in some weird statues.

  • Fight bosses, managers, and general supervisors. Some because the story told you to, and some because they might be giving your friends a hard time.

  • Enhance your spell-casting abilities. Maybe you'll be able to see old areas in a new light!

  • Learn about the world around you as you revitalize your hometown. If you befriend the villagers, they might teach you a few things!

  • Run errands for some NPCs (Or not Most of them aren't your mom).

  • Complete an album full of trading cards featuring pixel art of colorful birds. Can you find them all?

  • Unveil the mysteries of your new home, full of rooms and dangers that you were not aware of. Maybe that haunted furniture was just in style years ago?

  • Take a break from adventuring by tending to your garden. You never know when your favorite fruits or flowers might come in handy!

  • Take your faithful dog along with you on your adventures. He's a good boy. You should give him pets!

  • Enjoy the aesthetic of pixel art games of old blended with 3D elements

  • Find your hat. What kind of wizard would you even be without a hat?

    🦆 0.0.4 — Achievements on a Demo!

Hello quacklings! 2026 comes with what will be the last update for the demo, but not without a blast!Ice Puzzle patches.More cards! One more font for the UI.Swimming Sprite patches.Polished Difficulty Settings.Achievements (yes, demos now can have them too!).New tree and bushes 3D models. No more Demo Versions?During the last year, whenever things changed too much internally on the game, we quietly updated the demo to fix things, and to not deal with problems that don’t exist on the more recent game.If we feel the need we need to fix something, or that it is easier to have the demo closer to what we’re working for, we’ll update it.Close to release, there will probably be a 0.0.5, or 0.0.6 version, maybe with one or two levels or spells, maybe not, or just a polished graphics and a more detailed version of what the Ice Cave is right now.But those choices will be based on showcasing the game for the full version, so don’t hold your breath on this.Known IssuesApparently the native Steam Deck out of the blue starts flickering sprites. It is not something people comment on, so it is very hard to find people to replicate. We fixed it a dozen times, but there is still a chance that dying while not saving triggers a fade away loop. The last few build didn’t have that, but if you found it, please *report it immediately* what you did to cause this. Preferably with video. What now?Originally in this project, the goal was to add a few features on the demo, see what worked for players, and try focusing on that a little bit more until we got the chance to do some kind of crowdfunding for music and maybe some marketing. When we take the game to conventions, we got a few hundred people playing at the time, we learn where they get stuck the most, we learn a lot more people enjoy taking their time playing this game, and we kept adding stuff with that in mind, a lot of which was not on the demo. There were people we didn’t expect to like the game, there were people that didn’t care for the ...

0.0.3 New Testing Grounds, New Language

Demo Update 0.0.3Boy, has it been a while! How are you, Quackling?A while ago we updated the game, but didn’t make a fuss about it because we were whacking a lot of bugs that would appear inconsistently. The big thing is…: We changed a lot of the game internally, and just like plumbing, and if you don’t notice anything, it means we did our job. Do report brown stuff sightings. (ᵕ—ᴗ—) But that doesn’t sound exciting enough, so:New Level! If you complete the demo, you can take a look at some of the new mechanics that will be on the full game. We hope you have fun! (≧◡≦)PS: Bring a jacket.Brazilian Portuguese TranslationThis was added months ago, but we decided it was better not to report once we were sure some other bugs were taken care of!Quack ButtonWe are all for realism on our magic duck game. So of course that had to be a thing.Quality of lifeWizardog might not get in your way as much. You get little cutscenes showing that the puzzle has been solved, along with audio cues.If you like testing games and breaking stuff, you can now run the game with -debug parameter and you’ll get a lot of tools to do that.New Art!Over 370 sprites were added for the duckling. The dog has also been updated. There might be one or two cases where the colors are shifting unexpectedly, but we’re on it.There is also more kinds of grass, and the menus should align better now.So ducking more is comingWe are working on a whole village right now, and characters, and quests from those characters. We hope you love it as much as we do.

Portuguese Translation for the Demo, coming soon

The steam page has been fully translated to Brazilian Portuguese, and the game will soon follow. Maybe this problem did not happen so much with English speakers, but getting stuck in a game because you do not speak a language was quite common for anyone in Brazil. Until the last decade it simply was not common to have translations, much less voice acting. I remember asking for my uncle to translate something on the Jackie Chan game from PS1, or on the most broken English possible, parrot back what Spider-man kind of said to my English teacher. I was not proud to see that with my own game when kids went to play it. This went even for adults. One of the biggest questions for me while showcasing the game is when it would be in Portuguese. People see cute characters talk a lot and they are wasting time if they don't know what any of that means. Unfortunately back then the answer was... It is complicated. It is hard to translate something constantly changing When you're translating a project you're still working on, and something changes... you have to translate it again... and again... and proofread it again... and again... It is very easy to commit mistakes on every single step. The original idea for the game was to do a full release, and then move on for another language, and another language, and so on. That way you rarely have to go back, and you can even focus on the audience you're translating it for. For the demo, there were still things that we wanted to change, maybe make it longer. If you were around the release of the demo, you it was hotfixes over hotfixes. If we added more content, it would be this journey all over again. But at least for the demo, things are there to stay for a long time. It is finally time to address it. A few other things will come with it, I might add news to the website and a Portuguese landing page, maybe translate the game's title, but we'll have to wait and see. Anyhow, if you know anyone that speaks Portuguese, I hope they can expe...
